Loved it! Got engaged.
On arrival we were greeted by the friendly host, and after a tour of our own place, Cottage A, we were immediately shown the communal areas. Wood and firelighter were also offered. The hot tub, electric blanket, fireplaces, and hot water from the taps kept us nice and warm from the cold temperatures. Let me not even begin to express how 'lekker' the shower is. Everything was clean and extremely safe. We could even watch the Bokke play while braaing, as the TV is able to rotate, whether in the bedroom, living room, or outside. There are shopping malls and stores 12 minutes away, where we could buy all our goodies we forgot. Will definitely return! Highly recommend to anyone interested.

Just what we wanted for this trip, relaxing, cosy and private. Great birdlife. Close to everything we wanted to do. Swimming pool, although shared, was great and we didn't see anyone at all. This unit provided everything we needed, and the personal touches like a rose in the bathroom were appreciated.

It's the second time we've visited De Ware Jacob for a break and once again everything was perfect.
The Garden cottage at De Ware Jacob is unique and delightful. Private and idyllic. The hot tub is amazing and the bed is very comfy! The double shower is also superb. There is no covering on the hot tubs, which makes a stay in winter a bit risky. The e-bike option was a fantastic activity to do! I saw the whole town and bays.

We were on our honeymoon. We were kindly welcomed and everything was special and fixed for us. The cottages are private and very comfortable. Absolutely beautiful. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to get away alone and quietly with their partner.
The jacuzzi was divine and so was the indoor fireplace.
Very well furnished with everything needed. Perfect for a special getaway with a hot tub. Unfortunately due to rainy weather we could only use it on Friday. Would suggest rocking it for continuous use (suggestion only - was perfect to be able to use). Fireplace was also burning most of the time for perfect atmosphere.

De Ware Jakob was the perfect place for our weekend away. We were there for the Oppiwa festival and it was the ideal place to hang out, relax and just enjoy the area. Spacious rooms with beautiful finishes, lovely sitting area in the rooms, as well as in the public swimming area. Small, intimate and incredibly beautiful. Although their address is critical, it reads Vredenburg, so one is a bit under the impression that they are not located directly in Jacobsbaai.

I and my husband stayed at De Ware Jacob for 3 nights. We both liked the spacious and well-designed cottage and the quiet atmosphere at the location. The only thing we could complain about was that the cottage had no Wifi access (only access in the community area).

We were looking for a quiet, romantic, relaxing place with privacy to celebrate our anniversary. We were welcomed with a cute heart made of petals on the bed, smelling beautifully in Cottage b. Location not that great if you looking for activities in and around the area. But this is not what we were looking for. De Ware Jacob is definitely the place if you want to experience luxury on the West Coast. The unit (cottage D) was well equipped and spacious. We were able to pre-order ice and wood, which were already placed in the cottage upon our arrival. It is nice and private and the wood-fired hot tub was a treat day and night, cooling during the day and nice hot water at night. We will definitely go again.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed with the greatest hospitality and the owners of this place are so friendly they really made us feel at home. We were suppose to stay for two night but the jacuzzi was out of order. They offered us an extra nights stay for free just to accommodate us to use the Jacuzzi. On the morning we had to leave they even offered us to book out at 12:00 and not a 10:00 as normally. I would recommend De Ware Jacob to anyone who really wants a nice quiet peaceful stay in the safest environment. The cottages has everything you need you literally only need to take your luggage and food. We had the best time. Thank you so much.

The directions to location were just a bit confusing. instead of only indicating that it is on the main street, the address is given as Tertius Street. A larger name board at the entrance is also recommended.

Upon our arrival we were received by a very friendly man and woman. Tarryn packed the most beautiful nibble basket with strawberries and all kinds of cheeses, bottle of sparkling wine on ice. They helped us get the hot tub up and running. Very private. Would definitely recommend for young or old married.

This was a very nice stay in Jacobsbaai. Its the first time we stayed in Jacobsbaai and enjoyed it a lot. Really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
Super clean and a great reception. On request, we could already drop off our luggage in the morning. Towels were by exception also made available. It would be better for the guests to mention in the description. bringing your own towels. Signage along the road could really be better. In bad weather, so eat inside, only 2 very small tables available. Seating comfort outside is not great, a concrete table with ditto benches and a cushion and 2 not really comfortable wooden benches with a cushion.
Ours was a tasteful unit with everything one could need except towels for bathroom use, which we were only informed about during our 'road trip'. We were forced to purchase towels and then also travel with the used, damp towels - an unnecessary but important shortcoming. The bathroom window handle was broken and beyond repair - safety hazard and source of cold in bad weather! No WiFi available in residential units! Furthermore, our stay was excellent, unforgettable and we would honestly recommend De Ware Jacob. Management members were incredibly friendly and helpful.
A perfect getaway place.
The place was beautiful with great service and a very friendly and welcoming host.
The cottage is nice and cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen for the exact amount of people, however, the wood fire jacuzzi takes over 3 hrs to heat up. I also almost stepped on a scorpion in our kitchen, When I showed the pic to the owners and asked if it was poisonous, he could answer me.
We chose De Ware Jacob based on 3 factors: 1) Jacuzzi - we prefer a jacuzzi over a hot tub, but will settle for a hot tub that works effectively. 2) Free WiFi - we like to watch a movie before going to bed. 3) Location - we wanted to be within walking distance of the sea. 1) Jacuzzi: We were in unit C. The hot tub is a complete fail. Apart from the fact that the hot tub takes 3h20min and 3 bags of wood before it is hot enough, there is no chimney. So the smoke blows where the wind takes it. When we were there the wind blew it in our face. So after 10 minutes of sitting with burning eyes and tears we were "smoked" out of the hot tub. 2) The WiFi is only in the common area, not in the bedrooms. We only found out after we paid the deposit. When my husband tried to download a movie in the common area the internet was too slow. So the WiFi really shouldn't be listed as a feature at all. 3) I can't say for sure how far the nearest beach is, because we ended up doing our beach walk in Langebaan. The owner is very nice and helpful and the property is particularly beautiful, especially the garden. But small things could improve: we didn't have a bread plate or water glasses in our unit. As we started breakfast, we realized the gas was out. Chris replaced it within 20 minutes, but you have a checklist before checking in new guests. Tissues are not a big expense, there were no tissues or kitchen towels in the unit. At the end of the weekend it felt a bit like we had gone to spend the night at a friends house. Except that we paid R2400 for it. If the hot tub worked as it should then we probably forgot about the other smaller things. And so, if a hot tub is not a priority for you, this accommodation is fanatical. But don't book it for the hot tub.

The roof of unit D creaks during the night, loud enough to wake you. The host asked for our check-in time twice. I don't want to be punctual when on holiday. The host messaged again to make sure we checked out on time. I feel guests should be trusted to check out on time without being contacted again, it leaves a sense of hastiness. Double bed in room. No wifi at unit D.

My group (8 of us) booked out a few units and weren't disappointed. It's a bit of paradise on earth. You can hear the running water from the various water features, you hear the birds chirping and can literally smell the flowers, plants and trees. The hot tubs were a must as it was a bit too chilly for a swim. The wood tub surprised us at how hot it got - it was awesome sitting in it at night with the stars overhead. Each unit's decor is perfectly chosen and of the highest quality. We had an absolutely fantastic, relaxing, tranquil, stunning time at De Ware Jacob and will definitely be back.
We loved De Ware Jacob. What a stunning place. Just loved the atmosphere and the animals roaming around were beautiful. We even had a fresh egg laid in the braai one morning! Loved it. Everything was done to perfection and accommodation was first class.
We stayed 2 nights, the hot tub was super great. It takes a while so give it time to work , don't add so much wood, the tub became super hot, a point too hot because there was too much wood burning. I really wished the place had a mop, wet feet coming or our spilling things, just missed that.

We stayed in Cottage B, a private Jacuzzi under the stars, but we also used the indoor Jacuzzi. The rain was fantastic on the roof, the fireplace kept us wonderfully cozy. Romantic. Would also be great with friends.

If you need a break from the city life, then this is the best place. One of the best places we have been too. We will definitely be going back soon. It's neat and tidy, it's very quiet and peaceful. Nobody bothers you. Everything is in its place and easy to use. The hot tub works very well. The owners are friendly and are willing to assist you should you need anything.
It's a little hidden treasure.
My husband and I were looking for a quiet, romantic getaway for my birthday and after much searching we found De Ware Jacob on LekkeSlaap. We were very impressed with De Ware Jacob on the website, which was very user-friendly and provided us with beautiful pictures that did not disappoint on arrival. The whole experience was amazing, from the little WhatsApp messages from Ian confirming our booking ahead of time and the update a week before we arrived. He was super attentive to all my questions and his responses were on point. Even with the Covid-19 restrictions, he was very helpful in pointing out the security and safety measures that are taken in order to protect all the guests. On arrival we were met by Chris, who took us into the cottage (we booked Cottage D for 5 nights with its own private wood-burning hot tub). Chris showed us around the cottage and was extremely helpful in assisting us with the gas stove - which neither of us had used before (but it is so easy in hindsight). Our stay was magical. We enjoyed complete privacy. A romantic getaway that was much needed after being locked down for so long. Whilst we didn't venture out too much (mostly because of the weather), we did visit neighbouring towns like Velddrif and Vredenburg. Sadly we didn't make it to Saldanha or Hopefield (which we will definitely be doing in summer - taking advantage of the quad biking on offer). Whilst there, we were advised via WhatsApp that Wednesday night is Pizza Night at De Ware Jacob, whilst we didn't order the pizza as we had arranged to have a potjie that night, they have a wide selection of pizza that is made in their own wood-burning oven on the property, just give them the time you want to collect and dinner is sorted. Another amazing service they offer is a breakfast basket or a braai basket, all of them amazing value for money. We took advantage of the breakfast basket on my birthday and my hubby proudly cooked me a breakfast with the fresh ingredients provided by De Ware Jacob. The personal touches added by Tarryn (a birthday note, fresh little flowers) made the experience that much more special. Whilst there is no internet connection in the cottage, in the common area (pool/entertainment room) you have access to free WiFi which came in super handy when I had to join an impromptu meeting for work. And whilst I was in the meeting, my husband enjoyed the use of the hot tub in the common area. Our experience with Ian, Tarryn and Chris has made a huge impact on us and we would highly recommend booking a cottage at De Ware Jacob. FYI one of the nicest surprises about the cottage (that isn't mentioned anywhere) is the heater as you step out of the shower - amazing feature! Perfect for those cold winter evenings/mornings when you stepping out of your hot shower. I always enjoy the tranquility and beauty of De Ware Jacob. Each cottage is impeccably and comfortably furnished with just enough luxury and gorgeousness needed to make you feel so special! The gardens are absolutely stunning and the running water of the fountains and birdlife are heard from everywhere. The pool area and jacuzzi are perfect for the relaxation and tranquility needed for a perfect getaway.
I think the owners' dog came to play fetch with us, which was very pleasant.
If you live in a larger apartment, your parking is right in front of your door. The cutlery was odds and ends.

Our stay was the ultimate relaxation holiday which is just what we needed. The beach is just a few minutes walk away with the most magical sunsets and everyone in the area is super friendly. The accommodation felt very tropical and the units were clean, modern and very private, we barely even noticed there was anyone else staying there. We will 100% be back again!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at De Ware Jacob. Next time we will definitely stay longer. The house was very neat and clean, and I loved the decor. There are beautiful gardens and greenery and the light is nice and clean. We also enjoyed the Jacuzzi in the evenings and the owner made us feel very welcome and helped us if we needed anything. I would recommend it to people who want to rest and relax, as well as couples looking for a romantic place for a weekend.
Hard to believe one is in South Africa. Like a little oasis tucked away. The owners have given attention to detail and used the natural environment as part of their design. They have given sustainability a whole new meaning. So many water tanks, that feed the rainwater back into watering their natural gardens. They grow their own vegetables and herbs. The layout of all the cottages are done so beautifully, little pathways leading up to each one. Will definitely be returning.

De Ware Jacob is an incredibly nice place to just recharge the batteries. My husband and I enjoyed it so much. The silence is wonderful and everything is neat and clean. No one around you and you can just relax. You can go for a lovely walk through Jacobsbaai so pack your sneakers or take your bike. And also remember your Peaceful Sleep, there are mosquitoes. Will definitely go again.
It was magical. The weather was perfect, you feel like you are on vacation. Chris and Tarryn made us feel very welcome. What else can I say but it was really just nice.
Our cottage was neat, clean and well designed. We felt totally on holiday - no fuss, no noise. The only disappointment was that the holiday came to an end!

De Ware Jacob is extremely beautiful and the perfect place to come and relax with your partner. We did struggle a bit with the hot tub the first night however the owners were extremely helpful and generous with extra wood. The shower doesn't stay hot for very long but I'm assuming it is to save electricity, other than that our stay was perfect and Jacobsbaai is really peaceful and beautiful with all the spring flowers.

The place look exactly as advertised in the pictures. Clean and comfortable. Owners are very friendly and helpful. On calling on them they attend to your queries instantly. Only problem we had was that we paid extra to have the hot bath but then it did not work. That was a bit of a disappointment. Otherwise, I would recommend this place to anybody who just needs to go chill for the weekend.

This was home away from home for a week and we cannot wait to go back there one day again! The layout of the bungalow is extremely well thought out in terms of comfort and total privacy. The hosts are most welcoming and were on hand to help out whenever needed (e.g they sell wood and deliver this to the bungalow with a smile!) The bungalows are fully self catering, but for convenience, breakfast options and braai packs can be ordered (the provisions are provided, which you then prepare for yourself). We opted to make use of this service and were not disappointed, as the quality of the provisions was superb and also beautifully presented. They certainly know how to make their guests feel very special
Loveley venue. No holder (for shampoo, soap etc) in shower. Uncomfortable "with early morning cleaning staff" moving around.
The stay was amazing. Good for just getting rest and breaking away. Besides the cable theft that left us with electricity a full day, they at least have gas stoves and fire place. I would definitely go back again.
Ian and his son Chris were fantastic in answering any questions we had about the area and thus my wife and I had a wonderful anniversary at the West Coast restaurant. Also when we were without hot water for a while they addressed it immediately. I recommend the True Jakob as one of those very special places to visit. Will see you again!

An amazing place away from home! Very relaxing and beautiful. Only problem is the communal jacuzzi needs just a little bit heating up as it was luke warm considering the cold weather. Other than that we will definitely be coming back!

The accommodation was not conducive for my travel as there were no internet available in the cottage. Internet was only available in the communal area. There were no remote for the gate and one has to get out of your car to open and close this caused a bit of an inconvenience especially during the rainy whether. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

Advertised as luxury, but units below average standard. Advertised as quiet place to 'rewind' while very loud guests in other 3 units took over the common area on Saturday. Hottub, which we were most looking forward to, was taken over from late morning by the 3 couples who did not allow any rest. Still waiting for Chris who received us to get back to us to get WiFi. So not luxurious and not a peaceful place to stay. It was a disappointment precisely because it was our 40th wedding anniversary and tranquility and just a touch of luxury were important.
Die plek is skoon en netjies. Ek het probleem opgetel met stort wat net een mens kan gebruik dan is die water op. Ook ons kon nie die al geriewe geniet nie, daar's altyd 'n excuse. Ek moes in wash basin was en moes ketelwater gebruik, want die warm water was op. Die instansie-eienaar was net vol excuses. En dit was my verjaardag so almal het Veels Geluk gesing en die instansie-eienaar het ons elke keer kom stil maak. Die mense kon nie eens lag of praat nie. Was baie disturbing. Bad experience en het so 'n klomp geld betaal, maar was nie waarde vir die geld nie. Baie ongelukkig!

It is a perfect destination when you need to get away from the city life. It is situated in a nice quiet little town. The pool and greenery which surrounds the place reminds me of a little island. I would definitely go again for a longer period.

It was too cold to swim but perfect weather for the Jacuzzi. Loved the outside fire place to braai and inside fire place to sit and watch telly the one night. We will def be back!

We had a wonderful stay at De Ware Jacob. The accommodation is very neat and modern, each cottage has privacy from the other cottages. The Jacuzzi was lovely, even in the rain. My only criticism is that there was too little coffee. It's not a must, but I would recommend that there is a coffee per person per day of the stay.
Would like to go back when the weather is better.

We took a stroll down to the beach, visited the fairy and Pixie Village as well as the Westcoast Mall. The friendly and loving dogs on the property put smiles on our faces every time they came to visit. I highly recommend it. Perfect stay for some quality time with your spouse/partner.

We had a lovely time at De Ware Jacob, the place is quiet and very beautiful. We were also a little in-love with the jacuzzi and the overall scenery. The only complaint we have is that there’s no WiFi in the rooms.
The only issue was during our karaoke session we were asked to turn it down in the afternoon. I understand there are people staying there but it is a holiday destination, people are going to come there to have fun and make noise too. I think that is something to consider and explain to other guests that there might be noise between certain hours.
My fiance and I had the most lovely stay at De Ware Jacob. Ian and Christian made our stay most wonderful and service was very prompt and professional. I highly recommend this!

Had the pleasure of staying here for a weekend, I am absolutely amazed by how peaceful and beautiful the place is. From "the word go" Ian and Diane were super hospitable and helpful and we felt right at home and comfortable. The cottages are all very neat and well equipped! Apart from the fact that the site is incredibly beautiful and well looked after, the security of the site struck me the most. We were 8 ladies and never worried about anything going missing or feeling afraid to move around. We will miss Lulu the most and hope to see them again soon!

The hospitality is incredibly good and it's the second time within a year that we visit there, every time we are met very friendly and immediately made to feel at home. If something is needed it is never too much to ask. The bird life is also beautiful.

It really is an intimate place to get away and everything was perfect.
Premises are well appointed, and very comfortable. Amenities excellent, braai facility, spa, pool, comfortable bed and furniture and a lot of trouble has been taken with the decor to make the accommodation homely and welcoming. The ideal place for a restful breakaway. Not a lot to do in Jacobs Baai, other than walks and swimming if you are of a mind to do so. We just chilled, with forays into Paternoster and Veldrift, which are a short drive away, to see the sights there.
De Ware Jacob was a good choice for our visit to the West Coast. The cottage is very comfortable and stylish with a lovely outdoor dining and braai area. The garden and pool are beautiful - everything is even more beautiful than on the pictures! We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and could explore all the walks along the sea on foot. 10 out of 10 for Ian and Diane's hospitality!

De Ware Jacob is absolutely more than you see and expect. Our hosts Ian and Dianne are the best. We felt so welcome and special. Ian accompanied us to the unit. We showed how everything works inside as well as the Jacuzzi. He showed us the garden that Dianne planned as well as all the beautiful works of art that she creates. All the units were also planned by her with the guests' privacy and comfort as the core. 100%+ for hospitality. This place was the highlight of our vacation. Tastefully and luxuriously furnished like out of a book. Clean, tidy and safe. Everything you need in the unit. Private and quiet. Charming and romantic. From the cherries hanging outside, bed hanging from ropes as well as the nice warm fireplace fire that you can light, the Jacuzzi was also a winner in the winter. I really enjoyed Dianne's books that she makes available to you in the unit. This establishment has won my heart and I will go back again and again and recommend it to everyone who wants to stay affordably in style and privacy.

Hospitality at its best from arrival to departure. Upon arrival Ian was present to welcome us, gave us a tour of the grounds and explained the significance of the area as well as what was on offer in the town and its surroundings. We stayed in the Luxury Cottage-B. The cottage is fully equipped with all you need for a self-catering weekend away. The creative use of space and lighting, coupled with the attention to detail in the décor creates a sense of comfort and luxury while still being close to nature. Each cottage offers a lovely private outside area and braai space. Lulu was a welcomed guest and enjoyed snoozing on the patio! De Ware Jacob could be enjoyed by partners, and families with kids alike. The Jacuzzi was a good way to end off evenings and the pool looked very refreshing. Thank you to the hosts who really went the extra mile to accommodate us. We would definitely recommend De Ware Jacob and will be returning to this west coast gem soon!

To start with we had a scenic drive up the West Coast all the way to this secluded little farm. A really well thought out set up with the friendliest owners. The cabins are spacious, clean and well equipped. The beach is very close for some adventure and all the bays are within walking distance. If you need to relax to escape the business of everyday life you really cannot go wrong here. I highly recommend this to young couples looking for affordable accommodation at one of the most beautiful locations in the Western Cape.

The indoor fireplace, electric blanket, undercover braai area and communal Jacuzzi made it cosy and warm for our winter stay and the swimming pool and great entertainment area is inviting for a summer stay. It takes just a few minutes to walk down to the sea and the walk along the paths there enjoyable. A short drive away is some spectacular scenery. We were kindly welcomed and nicely shown around the entire premises upon arrival. The cottages were so nicely done up with a good balance of comfort and luxury. It was the perfect place to just relax and at the same time have the pampering of the Jacuzzi and fireplace in the living room. We can't wait to go back to De Ware Jacob again (summer or winter). Really enjoyed myself with my spouse. The cottage was cosy and warm with the fireplace, just what we needed for the winter weather. The owners are really friendly and made us feel at home the minute we arrived. I will definitely go back, but this time with my entire family.

The neatness and decor of the unit we occupied was very impressive. The entertainment area is awesome and well set out providing enough privacy for multiple guests. The animal farm was welcomed and enjoyed by my eldest daughter who made numerous visits to the animals. The host was very friendly, pleasant and helpful and we look forward to our next visit in the near future.

The places were neat, but the owner didn't always give you privacy and wanted to tell you all the time how and what to do. Could hardly use the pool, then he was there to close it. He kept making us adults feel like a bunch of naughty kids doing everything wrong.

This beautiful place is perfect for a winter getaway. A fireplace that crackles warmly, Karoo-like nature outside the window, raindrops falling, all makes it picture book perfect. The privilege to open your room door to let in the cold sea air in the mornings without feeling scared. The hospitality is gorgeous, and you feel like distantly related family rather than strangers on the premises. Thus you feel wonderful there. The goats, dogs and ducks give it a true farm feeling. What an awesome time we've had at De Ware Jacob. Ohhhh! We would love to go back there if the opportunity arises. The environment really stepped up to our expectations. Just what we needed, A must to go back. The warm welcome, the hospitality, the quietness in the surrounding. It really creates the togetherness when couples go there for a quiet time of relaxing in the Jacuzzi, exploring the surrounding and the Weskus Mall is like 8 min away. Many thanks to Dianne for making our stay so pleasant.
We recently stayed for 4 nights with our daughter, son-in-law and 2 grandchildren aged 7 and 4. We were greeted on arrival and shown to our accommodation which was spotlessly clean, well appointed with artistic flair. Everything that was needed was available from dishwashing machine in both the main chalet and the lapa to swimming pool, Jacuzzi and dry braaiwood. The grandchildren were even allowed to take the dwarf goat Milly for a walk. We all had a fantastic time. Bookings are going to be difficult to get once the secret of this place becomes known. My 9 year old daughter and I decided to have a mother-daughter weekend away. The unit we had looked over the swimming pool. My daughter was in the pool literally the whole weekend. So while I was busy with stuff in the unit, I could keep an eye on her the whole time. I also swam with her and it was lovely to get out of the cold pool and into the warm Jacuzzi. All the facilities are excellent. Diane is very friendly and Simba is very helpful.

One the positive side, this place is new, clean and neat with everything you could need. It is very modern and really quite beautiful. You get a lot of privacy when you book one of the more expensive houses. There is a very nice area outside which is set out for socialising and braais and a fireplace inside the house. The negative side is that De Ware Jacob is not walking distance from the sea and certainly not a "5 minute walk" from the ocean. You can't even smell or see the ocean. We really weren't happy about this. We were under the impression that we'd have a private Jacuzzi by our house and were even asked whether or not we would be using it so that they could come and switch it on for us. It was one of the major reasons I booked this place. But the Jacuzzi is shared by all the houses and works on a first come first serve basis. We couldn't use it at all. The weathercock atop the chimney is very noisy.
