41 guests' feedbackWe chose DeSkaap as an overnight stop during a recent 5-day cycling tour through the Overberg region. It was our last night and the perfect place to end the week. The houses are comfortable and well furnished. The setting is wonderful; dead quiet, with a wide view of the farm, the pond, the sheep coming to the fold. Good for the soul. The customer service was prompt and the few requests we had were carried out immediately.
Very peaceful and we felt welcome.
Batteries fully recharged and ready for the "Ratrace" for the next few months. Definitely know where I will be going for my next recharge session. Good to use as a base camp to explore the area. Extremely friendly people.

Freda, thank you very much for your friendly welcome. We were a group of 12 adults and two toddlers. Upon our arrival, we immediately felt the warm welcome. What a beautiful view and the tranquility. The cottages were absolutely fantastic and yes everyone can't stop talking about how well they slept (beds fantastic). The two toddlers pretty much enjoyed themselves and were up early the next morning to feed the goats with the "uncle". We as a group are only very sorry that we only slept over one night but next time definitely 2 or more nights.
Another visit to Freda and Chris and we felt like family returning. It is wonderful to come and stay here as it is peaceful and absolutely stunning, don't miss out.

We were a small group that could stay nice and close to each other, but still have our own privacy. The cottages have everything we needed and much more. Beautiful lawns. Our kids just wanted to stay longer! Freda was very pleasant and we will definitely visit again soon!
Ons het dit baie mooi gevind en die stilte was wat ons nodig gehad het.
Was a nice weekend for us. The braai area is fantastic and the cottage has all the necessary crockery too. The only thing that bothered me was the water, I assume the pressure in the pipes was not too great. Otherwise no problems from our side. Thank you very much again.

Very pleasant with ample living space for 6 persons. Long stoep and outside eating area to enjoy farm views and sounds. Close to Napier and Napier Mountain for hiking in the fynbos.

The accommodation is very well equipped with everything you need and is comfortable. The environment is peaceful and quiet with no annoying noise except animal sounds from the pond which is like music. Can recommend the place anytime for someone who wants to enjoy peace and quiet.
Clean, relaxing escape from the busy cities. The house was spacious and clean and had everything needed for our stay. The service was amazing and the owners were warm and welcoming.
Heaters and/or fireplaces will definitely be recommended for the Cape Cold.
No shower door. Toilet leaks so much water, have to wear shoes when going to the toilet.

Friendly reception. Reassurance that we should only speak if we needed anything which then did happen, without effort. Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Lovely space, beautiful view (we had rain all weekend and Jan Frederik Huisie's beautiful view and house space made up) we could walk everywhere if we could.

Neat family friendly accommodation just outside Napier.
The hostess was very friendly and helpful even before we got there. The farm environment always does you good and we had a very pleasant and comfortable stay.
The cottage was well equipped. It was very peaceful and quiet. Although it is on a farm, the town is only about 6 km away, so it was ideal for us.
The facilities are very neat and clean, all bedding, cutlery to pots and pans, even black pots are provided. The location of De Skaap is such that we could take trips to different places every day, such as e.g. Struisbaai and Waenhuiskrans, both about 50 km away, Pearly Beach about 40 km or just go out to eat in Napier, 4 km away. In the evening we could quietly light a barbecue fire, with wood provided, and enjoy a nice glass of wine bought from nearby wine estates. The stay was really good value for money and very pleasant.
Indoor braai is a winner and the children really enjoyed the open spaces. The birds also entertained us all morning with an orchestra of sounds. Wonderful!

DeSkaap is the ideal place to recover after a busy year. Silence, a nice swimming pond. Farm animals for the children to admire. Beautiful fynbos.
Oh, that was so nice. The hostess really went to extra lenghts to make it possible for us to braai despite the bad wind (and the firewood and lighters were provided!) Beautiful and tasteful apartment. All that is needed is there. Will definitely go again. The lapa would be perfect for a group.

Very nice and well located, houses are a bit close to each other, need a bit more privacy. Very neat and clean and well equipped, big houses definitely nice for family and friends to get away for a nice few days. Definitely very hospitable.
