The Elandsvlei Estate Farmhouse offers self-catering accommodation, and is located on a private estate approximately 44 km from Mookgopong. The farmhouse is the perfect bush escape for a large group looking to relax in a private location amongst beautiful African wildlife.
The fully furnished, African-designed farmhouse can accommodate up to 12 guests and boasts 5 luxury suites with en-suite bathrooms, connected to the main living area. The main and second bedrooms each have a king-size bed, the third room is furnished with twin beds, the fourth bedroom is equipped with a queen-size bed, and the fifth bedroom has 2 single beds and a bunk bed. The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a shower or bath.
The well-equipped kitchen contains a double-door fridge, a large gas stove with an oven, a microwave, and other appliances and utensils to use. The living area leads to the main entertainment area, which has a covered braai area and which leads to the splash pool. There is a second open-air braai area to use as well. Firewood is provided for guests.
The farmhouse is located on a 3000-hectare private game farm between Mookgophong and Vaalwater with giraffes, buffalo, eland, kudu, gemsbok, zebra, wildebeest, and many other species that reside on the farm. This beautiful mountain location has over 100km of roads and trails that are ideal for hiking, running, and mountain biking. The estate's dams are great for fishing, and guests are welcome to try their luck fishing for various species including tilapia, bream, and catfish.
Self-drives are allowed for those with a 4-wheel drive vehicle, ATV, or dirt bike. The hosts ask that guests wanting to do this, first go for a guided game drive so that guests can familiarize themselves with the layout of the property.
Game drives can be arranged at an additional fee per person, and include 2+ hours of game viewing, as well as sundowner drinks and snacks in a beautiful location.

4 guests' feedbackWe really enjoyed the weekend. A peaceful farm atmosphere with wildlife that comes close to the house. We were privileged to see giraffes, ostriches and several species of antelope, and to be able to experience an incredible sunrise from our room. The tranquility stood out to me. Thanks to Nicolas (owner) and his family who made the effort to come and meet us when they were on their way back from their holiday. We will definitely visit Elandsvlei again, but for a longer period than a weekend.
It is comfortable, neat, and beautiful. Everything you need is there. It was one of the nicest places we have ever been. Will definitely go again.
