This is the type of place you go to when city life gets too much and you just want to let your soul heal. Charlie was a very friendly host and for the price definitely worth it. We saw giraffes, zebra, warthog, kudu, blesbok and blue wildebeest from our porch.
If you are looking for peace and quiet with only nature around you, this is the place. The view is breathtakingly beautiful! The donkey for hot water is easy to use. I enjoyed the hiking trails and they are well marked. The cottage has everything you need. There is wildlife and many birds. I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend and would definitely go again.

The hosts were wonderful, the view was spectacular, and I wanted for nothing. The hiking trail was well-marked, and I saw quite a bit of game!
Our stay was absolutely lovely. The host, Charlie, was very friendly and welcoming. We stayed in Kaappunt at Eyeview and the view was breathtakingly spectacular. The unit was very comfortable, and the compact kitchen had everything we needed. The Donkey was extremely easy to use to make hot water, and the hiking trails were great. If you are looking to relax in nature with both sunrise and sunset views from your balcony, then this is the perfect place.
A very nice thatched roof cottage, with a large patio with braai looking out over bushveld with koppies and kloofs. There are some game in the area. In the distance, the Magaliesberg mountain range is visible. We really enjoyed our stay there, very quiet, with some nice hiking in the area.

It was a very peaceful weekend with the best view ever. Relax and enjoy nature. On our drive into the farm we saw a nice kudu bull, from the deck we saw kudus, waterbucks, impalas, giraffes and warthogs. If we had remembered the binoculars we might have seen the rest too. Remember binoculars. Saturday night saw 8 shooting stars and over 40 satellites in one hour. House had been very neat and clean and the donkey for hot water brought back good memories. Owners have been very hospitable, thank you Charlie and wife.

Beautiful view, clean and tidy, friendly people. Everything one needs is there. I would definitely go again but Cape Point's main bed could do with a new mattress otherwise we were happy.

Great hosts Charlie and Hilda. We did the 5 km hike (Leopard route) which was actually 8 km according to my smart watch. It was a bit overgrown due to recent rain but we enjoyed it anyway.
It was a lovely getaway weekend. Everything was silver clean and very neat. We are going to make more use of the little gem.
The location and view are truly indescribably beautiful. We just felt that the cutlery could be updated a bit and that the mattress in the master bedroom could also be replaced. We would also suggest adding a fan or two. Other than that, we enjoyed it and will definitely come back again for a visit that will be less hectic.

The owners are terribly friendly and helpful. Appreciate Uncle Charlie taking us up on a night game drive. There are various game, kudus, giraffes, waterbuck, divers, impalas, sables, etc. as well as variety of bird life. Just take binoculars with you. From the accommodation, the wildlife is quite a distance away on the breathtaking view. Ideal getaway if you are looking for peace and quiet with basic amenities (solar power and donkey for hot water with gas stove) away from the city's hustle and bustle. Suggest not going with a sedan vehicle. Rather an SUV or bakkie or 4x4 as it is a farm and the roads are not suitable everywhere on the farm for lower vehicles. Cell phone reception is very good. It is bushveld and don't expect a 5 star hotel. For children there are not many facilities, there is swimming, walking trails and wildlife watching so don't expect too much. In summary, we really enjoyed the break and you can rest well. The houses are far from each other and the owners leave you completely alone so you can enjoy it. Thanks again for allowing us to visit you.
It's the ideal place if you want to get away from the city's busyness and noise. The silence works wonders and the view is breathtaking.

Very nice view, nice and quiet and really enjoyed it.
Excellent accommodation, view and walking routes. Owner very friendly and very helpful. Neat and affordable accommodation. 1 km rocky dirt road to Cape Point (no problem for Polo Vivo). Ordered a milk tart and it was still warm when it was delivered, delicious hot and cold the next day. Bring fire lighters (blitz) and matches to facilitate lighting the donkey. Swimming pool spotless, barbecue area excellent (buy wood there). Kitchen well equipped. Thank you very much Charlie and Hilda.
It was a pleasant tranquil woodland atmosphere. Braai facilities are conveniently located close to accommodation. Parking is close to accommodation. Beautiful views. Lovely sunset.

If you are looking to get away from the city, then this is the right place, the hosts of the farm were very accommodating and friendly. The views are amazing and plenty of hiking routes to keep you busy, we did find the hiking trails confusing at times, but the farm was busy remarking the markers that had disappeared or where it was overgrown.

Fantastic view and very peaceful place to just relax. When we arrived on Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock there was no one in sight. I didn't see any indication where to sign up. The website's directions are not going to get you to Eyeview. I called to find out where to sign up. 15 minutes later Charlie arrived. Although we were an hour early, he was very friendly and apologized for the general condition as they do not work on Saturdays due to religious beliefs. The cleanliness of the place in general could improve a lot. Greasy plates in the cupboards and mugs with old coffee rings. Swimming pool full of spiders and other crawling bugs. On Sunday morning there was still no human in sight. We just washed the dishes we used, left the steering wheel in the door and left at 9 o'clock.
I stayed in the Cape Point cottage. It is very neat and clean with the most beautiful view and the friendliest service! It is nice and quiet for those who want to escape and rest. I would love to visit again!
We were very kindly received and helped. Very nice to sit on the stoep and visit under the roof while a very welcome little rain fell. The view is incredible and the wildlife comes very close to the house. We will definitely visit again if we are in the area, maybe the time will be longer. However, there is a hiker's camp right next door which can be disturbing if they are late and having a good time, but it didn't detract from our visit.
Uncle Charlie and his wife are very nice people and made sure that we were as comfortable as possible with everything. The house is very neat and there is everything you need. I can recommend Eyeview to anyone and will definitely stay there again for a weekend.
Was everything we were looking for and looked forward to. The calm and nature was breathtaking and Alvin and Hilda made us feel like family. Abundant birdlife and animals that we were able to watch closely. The chalet, the quiet and 180 degree view from the top of the hill was fantastic. Eyeview is a special place and ideal to break away from the busy city's noise. The owners are friendly and helpful and make you feel so welcome. We found everything we needed, and got so much more than we expected. The cottages were neat and, as adventurous people, we found it fun warming water in the donkey geyser and boiling water in the kettle on the gas stove. The atmosphere is a unique combination of farm life and wild scenery and Tannie Hilda's slogans motivated and inspired us. We could become human again. We will definitely come again, and next time we will bring more people along!
Our accommodation was in Afrika with most most beautiful view ever! The living area is lovely with a farm atmosphere it deserves. We were warmly welcomed and nothing was too much effort to make us feel at home. Charlie, Hilda and Karel, thanks so much that you shared this beautiful paradise with us. Once again, in our opinion, this "Gem in the Northwest". We regretted not ordering one of Hilda's unbelievable milk tarts! Next time we definitely will.

The house was very nice to stay in. Beautiful but still simple. The owner, Charlie, is very hospitable and ready to help with anything. You have to use a donkey for warm water because the houses make use of solar power.
Charlie and Hilda gave us a warm welcome We stayed in Cape Point Chalet. The place was neat and clean and the view from the balcony is absolutely breathtaking. Here you can find your feet again, because there's no TV and you have to light a fire for hot water. We also did the 6 km Leopard walking trail and we really like the fact that it is well marked. The flowers and butterflies were beautiful and lots of antelope to see. If you need to get some rest this is the place.

I was really looking forward to the weekend away at Eyeview and I am pleased to say that it didn't disappoint. The views are spectacular. We thoroughly enjoyed our hiking through the bush. The Landlords (Charlie and Carel) are very informative, helpful and hospitable. It was fun using the "donkey" to heat the water for showering. Only drawback was the temporary disruption to their silent solar energy supply which means you have to rely on time restricted power from a generator, which can be disturbing to other guests located closer to the generator. But this will all be sorted out soon. Really looking forward to going back for another visit.
Winter might not be the best time to come here with small children. The accommodation is very basic and it felt more like camping except that you don't need to pitch your tent yourself. During the game drive we didn't see many animals, and it was also problematic that the children had to sit on the back of a bakkie with a rail. The road is rough with steep hills. Maybe they could add some benches on the bakkie? The steps in our room were steep (more like a ladder than steps) and dangerous to children, even to adults. Luckily the gravel road is not too long, but at times it is in bad condition so that our sedan car got a few rough hits.
When I got to Eyeview the cabin/cabins were not as the pictures that are on the website.
The owners are friendly and hospitable. The accommodation neat and clean. The braai and donkey are cleaned every morning and the donkey refilled. The view from the veranda is breathtaking - words cannot describe it.
Very tranquil and unique with an amazing view while you braai in the late afternoon or enjoy your morning coffee.
It was a nice peaceful place. You can see for miles if you sit on the porch and there is a lot of wildlife drinking water at the water hole. The host and wife make you feel right at home, so I will go again.

We really enjoyed our time there. Sunday morning a lot of game came by to greet us. Stunning! It was so nice to meet Charlie and Hilda and to get to know them better.

Peaceful setting with the most amazing view.
For alone time with a special person, this is just the place. Rest, silence and natural beauty are very "great". Wild enough to catch your attention every now and then. Would recommend to people who want to switch off a bit, and get away. Winter months they see us again, and Uncle Alwin - we come hunting in 2017.
Eyeview will never disappoint any one who decide to go there for the visit. The place really lives up to its name " Eyeview ". Visit the place and you will understand what I mean!

The view is fantastic during the day and in the evening the stars are breathtaking. We walked the 6km trail with kids, 6km is further than you think...but the wildlife made it 100% worth it, we saw such a great variety. The donkey stook is an art that must be mastered! The owner is very friendly and checks in regularly to see if everything is OK.

Visiting Eyeview was a wonderful experience. The view is incredible. Eyeview can be recommended for nature lovers and hikers. We were even allowed to bring our puppies with us. What a lovely time!
The atmosphere is very peaceful and there is more than enough space for children to play. Beautiful, clean swimming pool and very clean and tidy accommodation. Very hospitable. We even received a nice milk tart for our wedding anniversary that weekend, that was very nice of them.
I had a great stay, Charlie Reader is very hospitable. The cottage is nice and private with a fantastic view!
