Our family had a great stay. Good value for money. Felt very at home and is close to everything! Quiet and peaceful. Could really switch off a bit. We were also able to have a nice barbecue and our dogs also felt very much at home. Will definitely recommend.

We would have liked it if there was a toaster and also felt that the cutlery was not decently clean, but these are small things that can be worked around. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone needing a quiet getaway.
Great weekend at the accommodation. The braai lapa that can be closed was a big bonus in the cold weather, a nice place to hang out with pals. However, the house could do with a few more wine glasses. We could only get one and had to make use of champagne glasses etc to enjoy an experience.

The house was stuffy, fridge rusted inside, one bed was not cleanly made, the whole place needs a thorough cleaning.
When we arrived the key was only given to me and the lady said that the receptionist was not there. I wasn't shown where everything was. The light switch in the bathroom and the bedside lamp were faulty in the room where I slept. My coworkers and I stayed there for a work event and customer service. The power went out while we were cooking in the morning, causing us to be late for our meeting with clients. Kitchenware and bedding look a bit dated (not guest house standard). The paint cap is down in the bathroom ceiling. The car gate only closes halfway.
The place is very outdated. Wood everywhere, ancient furniture, and clutter everywhere. It feels very mouldy and stuffy. We didn't want to put anything in the fridge because it looked disgusting and rusted inside, both the fridge and freezer. We had ants, bugs, and roaches. The TV doesn't work at all, which was not mentioned. There was no gate or boundary wall because it's being repaired, which was also not mentioned. Will not be returning.

We were 6 adults who had a great time in a well-equipped house. There is enough space for everyone and there is also a dishwasher which made the visit even more enjoyable.

I liked that my pets could be safe in the great room. The braai and other facilities were completely up to expectations. Shower water was hot, my husband was only disappointed about the TV, that the dish didn't work.
There was only a "shortage" when we wanted to turn on some of the lights below and sparks on the DB board when we went to turn it on there after which it did work again.

We enjoyed the location, away from the shops, but still close enough. The view from the balcony of the town and the sea is beautiful. It was quiet at night in the neighbourhood, we could hear the owls calling.

Power insufficient, had to ask twice for power purchases. Wi-fi and Openview can be considered. No gas facilities during load shedding. No outside lights on porch, couldn't sit outside in the evening. Lights inside house not up to standard, some bulbs not working. Price for 2 persons versus 10 persons varies quite widely. R255 pppn versus R119 pppn. Pensioners should still get a discount.

We had a great time. About hanging out in the enclosed lapa when we came back from our day's expeditions. Safe environment, everything one needs is in the house. The view from the deck is amazing. Stilbaai is a very nice holiday destination and with Jongensfontein basically right next door, it's worth it.

I wouldn't recommend couples going there as there are not much privacy as the rooms flow into one another.
It is a very large family home with plenty of sleeping space and utensils. Unfortunately the 1 bedroom roof light did not work and the bedside lamp was without a lamp shade. Much of the kitchen equipment is unfortunately rusty. Can opener was broken, only 1 pliers (rusted). Fridge and freezer shelves are so rusted you almost didn't feel like putting food in them and the roof of the microwave oven was so rusted that when I cooked vegetables in it, some of the "paint" fell off the inside (thankfully next to the bowl of vegetables!). The 2 armchairs on the upper floor were unfortunately also broken (the steel mechanism of 1 was completely broken). One can see that it is a family home with photos and antique wooden furniture, but that there was also a lot of love in the house.
The cleanliness of the kitchen cabinets can receive attention.
We had a very good weekend at Fransie and Doep Se Stoep. The guys really enjoyed it. It's definitely our home. Will tell everyone to book into your home.
My weekend was nice.
We were even able to postpone our trip due to bad weather and nothing was an issue, everything was quite effortless and seamless. Excellently clean house, which I loved, and quiet location. Very comfortable with all kitchen amenities available. My husband and I love walking and so the location of the house was great as we had access to nature reserves close by and also to the beach and the river. We really enjoyed our stay. Although the beach is at least a 30-45 minute walk away, we found a way through quiet streets and a little nature reserve and so, if you love walking, you don't need to go via the Main Road to get to the river and the sea.
We're trully grateful for the warm welcome we got on arrival by Sofie. She made it quite easy for us to get settled in. The true essence of family importance came through when we went inside the beautiful, rustic home. From all our members at the cycling club we want to thank you very much for letting us stay in such an amazing family home. Thank you so so much again. Much appreciated.

We had a great stay at Fransie and Doep's Stoep. The house is fully equipped, there is a nice covered barbecue area, and more than enough space for a rambunctious beagle to run around. The neighborhood is very quiet, and we never had to worry about safety. Thank you very much, we really enjoyed our stay here, and will stay here again the next time we visit Stilbaai.
As anglers we have very basic needs, e.g. comfortable lodging, access to shops, beaches/angling spots. The cleanliness, beautiful surroundings, well-kept garden and amenities contributed to a good experience. We would like to visit the place again!
For the size of the house and the amount of people it can accommodate, this is excellent value for money. I think you will be hard pressed to find better value in Stilbaai. The house is spacious, comfortable, well equipped.

We had a very nice stay. The living room is upstairs, but there is a very nice dining room with a table downstairs by the kitchen. The lower two en-suite bedrooms run off each other, so guests just have to take that into account. The braai place outside in its own toe lapa is a plus point especially if the evenings are cool. I recommend the house with pleasure.
The house is not that far from the sea. Everything you need from bedding to dishes is all there. We had small children too and it was very comfortable. No complaints from the house. House is neat. We had towels at our disposal.
Would recommend Fransie and Doep's Stoep anytime. We were on our way to nowhere when we decided to make a day of it. The booking didn't even take 5 minutes and there was constant contact until we arrived at our destination. It was really nice to be welcomed with a big smile and friendly face. Thank you Sophia! If you are looking for bliss and rest, with a view to comfort, this is just the place. Great for young and old. Just a pity tomorrow is a working day, otherwise we would have requested to stay longer. Definitely our place to stay if we stop at Stilbaai again!
The house was perfectly situated. It was extremely clean and tidy, which was a bonus! Lovely braai area, and an absolutely stunning garden! Coming from the city, it was amazing to have some nice peace and quiet. Feel very honoured to stay at Marilie's family home.

Very nice quiet area. Just a little far from the sea. But the house is perfect for a large family or extended family. Spacious lawn where children could play.
The place is nice and big and spacious. The fireplace upstairs in the living room, the deck overlooking the beautiful surrounding area and the garden is also a big plus as well as the lapa. Sofia and the owners are very helpful, friendly and hospitable. I would anytime recommend Fransie En Doep Se Stoep to anyone who needs a getaway and just wants to relax.
No one seen. Bed very very uncomfortable, small and old. It felt like we were staying in a museum.
