Very nice stay at Fynbos. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help (and strike up a conversation). They gave us good suggestions on where to eat and what to do in Riversdal. A very nice breakfast was also included.

The venue as an overnight stay for work with breakfast was very good. Clean, quiet with all the facilities in the room in working condition. The hostess Miranda was totally awesome, warm, welcoming and accomodating. She made me feel really at ease. The host on the other hand was a total 'flip of the coin' experience. Firstly he insisted to see my proof of payment for the accomodation after Miranda already confirmed with him that Lekeslaap confirmed the payment for the booking. He made me feel extremely uncomfortable as he spoke to me in a very ubrubt manner almost as if his doing me a favour. Throughout this conversation Miranda was contributing with a very soft approach which kind of subtled the blow to his approach. The next morning at Breakfast, I was seated in the room with a family of 3. Before the host entered the room I was interacting with the family and we shared some jokes etc in a very cheerful conversation. The host entered the room, looked at me, I greeted him, never responded and walked pass my table to the family of 3's table where he had a hearty conversation with them. Because we were engaged in conversation the wife and husband of the family also drew me into the conversation they had with the host but it was evident that he wasnt interested in me sitting on the other side of the room as he turned his back to me when they did this. After breakfast I packed my bags and wanted to personally return my key to Miranda to thank her for the stay and only found the host. He looked at me and with no interest, took the key from me. At this point I think its relevant for me to state that I am a coloured female and the family was white and I believe that the reason why I was being treated like this by the host was beacause of the racial difference. I feel extremely upset about the way I have been treated by the host and I dont think I will ever go back to Fynbos or refer anyone there. I do however feel very bad for the hostess Miranda, as she is really a genuine friendly person. Maybe as a solution, the host should just refrain from being guest facing.

Fynbos is a neat and convenient guesthouse with friendly and helpful staff. Besides that they also serve delicious breakfasts. Expansion of the TV channels and better WiFi would make it even better.

Our accommodation was everything we needed, close to Oakdale in a peaceful setting with a very nice breakfast in the morning included in the price. Our hostess Merinda was also wonderful, nothing was too much to ask, thanks again for a nice place to stay.

It was absolutely amazing and unforgettable. Would definitely go again, 10 out of 10. The staff were absolutely wonderful, especially Amanda and Laurika as well as the hostess, Merinda. The only "complaint" is the big dog. Not everyone is a dog person.
