On our 18-day trip through Namibia, Grùnau Chalets was the most expensive (R965) of our 5 different places to stay, and by far the most disappointing! Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Grùnau Chalets. The "remote" for the TV only had 1 battery. When I went to get new batteries from reception, I noticed that the TV wouldn't turn on in the first place. The kitchen area was not the cleanest. The fridge was terribly small. No spray for the pesky mosquitoes was available. The place had a shabby look. And no security guard was at the open access gate overnight.
Unfortunately not. Place was dirty. WiFi does not pick up in unit and must stand outside for pick up. Dirty bolted barbecue grill. No wood available. Shower curtain is a negative point. Power plug next to sink. TV is terribly old.
Clean and everything you need.
The chalet was very comfortable and spotless. The bathroom was larger than expected and a bathtub was very welcome after a dusty day. The staff were very friendly and welcoming despite the late hour, the security fence and guard allowed me to sleep without concern for my vehicle. I would recommend the chalets as a lovely place to stay.

It is really a great place to sleep over on your way to Windhoek from SA. Its location is perfect. It's a quiet place to relax and recharge for your 2nd leg of the trip. The sunset is magnificent. It was value for money.
Our chalet was very clean and tidy. I have never seen such a big shower. It was wonderful for us to spend the night there. We would definitely have ordered dinners, maybe something you guys can think about in the future for overnight guests. However, this did not spoil our stay.

This was our first night's stay on our Namibia holiday. Just the right distance out of the Cape for 1st stop. Has everything you need with spacious rooms and bathrooms. The air conditioning is a plus. Nice braai area with shop nearby should you need/forget something.
Relaxed and quiet. Being able to grill is great. Turn off and enjoy the stars. Mosquitoes are troublesome. Spray stuff is provided.

Spent the night here after we came in from SA in the dark and again the night before we returned to SA. Six people slept comfortably because the room is nice and big. WiFi was a big plus with the teenagers and their phones. Coffee and tea available and could also walk over to the Shell filling station. However, their meals were almost all sold out. But we were able to purchase other items.
Our chalet was spotless and very spacious. The reception was friendly and very helpful. Accommodation was very suitable for our purposes.
There is a need for renovation and maintenance with certain things, e.g. the shower that was pooling and a window that was cracked. It was still a very good stay.

The green lawn is a blessing in the desert. However, prefer a double bed rather than the 2 single beds next to each other.

Very basic but all that is needed for a night stop over en route to your next destination.
Neat, well furnished accommodation. Everything you need for one night's stay. Just note the ugly torn lace curtains in the bathroom, it detracts from the high standard that is maintained.
We have stayed here twice and will definitely stay again. Perfect for overnight when coming from SA before touring deeper into Namibia. Meat etc can be ordered in advance.

We received very good service. Fire wood and meat is available to purchase. Braai grids are provided to use. Nice green grass for the kids to play. Big comfortable units. My only recommendations are a Jungle Gym for the kids on the lawn, and a movable room divider as the entire unit is open plan with no privacy.

We slept one night in Grunau Chalets. The unit was neat and clean. Four single beds in one large living room, with a large bathroom (shower only). The location of Grunau Chalets does not offer any activities to keep a tourist busy. However, we used it as a base from which to visit the Fish River Canyon, and as such it is very suitable.
Lovely place to spend the night. Beautifully clean, tidy and everything you need.
Facility for nice filter coffee with plain milk in a porcelain cup will be the icing on the cake.
