What an amazing stay, we all really enjoyed it. Our kids loved being so close to the beach. Very close to all the restaurants, hardly used our car. This place is perfect for a family with or without children, very safe and clean! Loved it!

The apartment at Hancke Holiday Apartments was very much to our liking. The only thing we had a problem with was the noise made by the renovations. After driving for hours, we were hoping to relax and freshen up for our departure the next morning. Thankfully, due to the good customer service, this was rectified as soon as we contacted the owners.
Slept very well. Can make coffee available to drink though.
Location is great. Unit is neat and clean. What I would change is the bathroom, but I understand that it is being redone right now, so thanks in advance. I would also have liked a double bed in the one bedroom, rather than two beds standing against each other. If you don't like activity (like us) then this is not the place to stay in high season, but ideal for the rest of the year. It was very good to see that a few little things I mentioned last time were all addressed. The service was great, e.g. the boiler in the unit gave up and it was replaced very quickly.
We were off for a family wedding, got there very late due to traffic on the roads and were kindly received and shown around. The apartment was perfect for what we needed - who doesn't want a coffee shop on their doorstep when on holiday? All I can suggest, especially for someone who has never been to Jeffreys Bay before, some suggestions of what to find where (Supermarket or pizza place etc.), but at least we could Google, that's just a suggestion (maybe have I missed it).

The unit location is great, clean and comfortable. The bathroom requires maintenance as the tap and shower head are loose, an upgrade to make the shower easier should be considered as getting in and out of the bath to shower is not ideal. The reception was poor and we did not feel welcomed by the agent, rather a burden for her to accommodate us on a Friday.
The flat was clean and nicely furnished but there was no emergency lighting in the hallway so getting out during load shedding was difficult. There is also a noisy club a few doors down making it very difficult to settle young children down for the night. We also had no hot water.
Liesl, the manageress, met us on arrival and ensured that we were informed about everything including the safety measures. We appreciated the lockup secure parking, the only downside was that it was a distance from the apartment and we had quite a way to walk with our luggage. The apartment was well-equipped, it would be a good idea to put a flat sheet on every bed as well as the duvet, especially in hot weather! There were a number of good restaurants within walking distance but it would have been appreciated if a list of restaurants with their opening and closing times had been provided, the two restaurants in immediate proximity closed at 4pm on the Saturday that we arrived and the one didn't open on a Sunday, the day we left. We enjoyed our stay, we couldn't have wished for a better view and a closer proximity to the beach. We would definitely recommend using Hancke Holiday Apartments.
It is a neat, clean place, perfectly located, walking distance from all the places to eat. We had no issues with check-in or check-out, everyone was friendly and kept me informed the whole time about what and how we had to do. Thank you very much for a wonderful visit. Would highly recommend it.

For older people, the stairs may be a problem. And I really expected there to be some sugar and coffee and tea.

I had a great stay, the beach is 50 m away. The entertainment around there is also nice. The places to eat are all within walking distance.
This is now the 3rd time we have stayed at Hancke's and will spend the night there every time we go in that direction if possible. The service is great and it was always very clean and tidy.
All was good just a lot of noise at unit 6 coming from a noisy fan or motor running next to the bedroom window. I would overlook all that and visit again.

I'm not a sea person, but I really enjoyed staying in Hancke Flats. I didn't need to walk down to the sea to see the beauty, I could see and experience it from the balcony, with waves breaking on the beach. Eating places are available everywhere, within walking distance of the apartment. Hancke Holiday Apartments are located in the right place to see and experience all the action.

The apartment is very conveniently located - in the middle of everything. If it is high season you will have to make sure you can live with the noise, because it will be very busy. In the off season it is very nice, conveniently central. Parking is a little problematic for pick-up and drop-off, but the scale of the problem will depend on how busy it is. The apartment itself is comfortable. There are a few small things that could make it better. There was e.g. not bread knife. The geyser's overflow (I assume) drips onto the porch, making it wet and slippery. The lights on the stairs didn't work either, which made it quite inconvenient (and maybe dangerous) in the evening. The bathroom has a bath with a shower. Older (and taller) people may have a little trouble getting in and out. As a whole the apartment was very good value for money. I will visit it again in low season, but in high season I would rather stay away (but that's personal taste).

I believe the apartment needs a fan or two - very hot. A coffee table would also be good. Reception was very friendly. I did not like the fact that after an amount was provided by the website and paid, an extra amount of R250 was put on the account for cleaning. I don't have a problem paying for such a service, but it should be made clear ahead of time.
My friend and I had a lovely and very peaceful weekend. We will and will come back again for sure. The reception was very nice and professional.
Everything was in order. I think what you need to change is the beds in rooms no 2, 4 and 5. The ones that are next to the lounge. Also, I think you also need to change the set up ─ there should be a door that separates the lounge from the beds.
Upon our arrival we were greeted kindly and immediately made to feel welcome. Our apartment had a nice view, was well equipped and neat and clean. We had a very pleasant stay and will definitely use the accommodation again in the future.

Have had many visits to different self-catering and guest houses. This is the 2nd place where we experienced disappointment because the bathroom had no towels for bath purposes and we didn't think there would be. Always pack only swimming towels because you know you may not use unit towels for swimming. We arrived quite late and traveled from far away and usually you get at least 1 evening or at least one day's worth of coffee and milk and sugar. It's common at places over the years of visiting and usually we go and buy our own things for use the next day after we arrive. The mentioned are standard in most self-catering units and also a bar of soap for washing hands. I just think with the cost they charge for the cleaning fee and a large breakage deposit (also for which you have to wait a week to get it back), they can really work on these stated problems. I believe guests will be more positive then to book. The coffee shop's people informed us that many guests who have already slept there feel that a little more effort could be made that doesn't cost much, but still matters.
The person who handed the keys over was very helpful. A recommendation would be testing the hot water, had none except the last night we stayed there.
The person who received me provided good service. Residential premises inside I would rate 3 out of 10. Parking area a few hundred meters away from Hancke site. Cigarette burns in bath, bottoms of our feet blackened from walking in unit. Dirty and unkempt next to building seen from above, as well as lots of items in open ground floor square - creates a poor impression. Building is old and dilapidated typical of the buildings in town. Extractor channel next to building of restaurant makes a big noise.
We did enjoy staying in this beach front apartment that is walking distance from food outlets.

Comfortable, clean accommodation, but I wouldn't recommend it if you just want a relaxed evening. The accommodation is next to a restaurant/night club and you won't get any sleep from 21:00 until the early morning hours. This may be an exceptional situation, seeing as the stay was during Corona Open JBay 2018.
We went to Jeffreys Bay for the Corona Open surfing championship. The weather was spectacularly beautiful for winter - hot sunny days, no wind - which meant no waves and no surfing. But that didn't stop us from having a great time. There is so much to see and do. The unit was comfortable and had everything we needed. The view was breathtaking - overlooking the ocean. We will definitely be back! Thank you for an amazing stay!

Very good value for money, everything was very neat and clean. Unfortunately, the power in the only room didn't work, so we had to blow dry and straighten hair in the kitchen. Although the place is on the beach, walk everywhere which is great, I also just think that one should mention that during school holidays it is very noisy. Jolly Dolphin is around the corner, right below our window was The Mexican, at the back across the street Beach Bar - so every night there was a party, and we couldn't really fall asleep until about 3-4am .

Was okay, apartment urgently needs a bit of a modern makeover. Expected more than we got. During the week, noise was okay, but on Friday and Saturday it gets rough with the music until 3 in the morning. Was really close to everything and had a nice view.
We don't always have the chance to have quality family time but LekkeSlaap and Hancke made it possible - we had a wonderful time. Thanks so much.
We had a great stay, although some of the wall plugs didn't work, otherwise it was a very pleasant experience.
The apartments are well-equipped just recommends that it gets cleaned after every second day.
Unfortunately the upkeep of the unit was not what we expected. Certain areas were not cleaned properly and some utensils were rusted and not working. Ideal in it's current state for young surfer types but not quite suited for elderly retired folk.
With my small children I would prefer to have the full DStv, or just at least a kids channel.
Place is neat and centrally located. Well equipped. Can get a bit noisy with traffic and people passing by.
Had a great time with them. It's just not for people who like silence. This will be due to a hangout 2 buildings from the Hancke building. The location is perfect. Only the packing and unpacking is slightly difficult because there is no parking for the units at the building. Other than that, it was very nice.
Just had a problem with the delivery of the key. In the brochure package that was given to us it was indicated to leave it in the post box at Hancke Eindomme in Dagama street, but we were told to leave it at Mentorskraal's gate and then again at a shell garage on the way out Jeffreys Bay. Because we come in and out from Kabeljous to Jeffreys and don't know the place that well it was a problem, otherwise we had a nice stay.

Well situated, reasonably priced. Floors are dirty - especially in the corners. Looks like the dirt is being mopped around. Floor tiles can do with a proper wash. Windows were dirty. Otherwise the apartment was clean. Bedding is clean but very basic.
Accommodation was neat and what we expected according to the ad. Our patio light didn't work when we wanted to braai in the evenings though, the stove gave problems and all the promised DStv channels wasn't available and on day 3 the toilet got blocked. We were thankful that that was at least sorted out the same morning. Unfortunately then it was apparent already that everything that could have gone wrong on the weekend did.
On the first night we did not have hot water, wasn’t informed that geyser was switched off. Second day Sunday – power outage, people in the area informed us that this was communicated to residence in advance, we did not know about this at time of booking. That meant no hot water, no meals could be prepared, additional expenses to buy meals from restaurants who had running generators. Insufficient lighting during power outage, only one candle was provided. Parking garage in nearby building, gate does not work during power failure. Noise from nearby pub, not too loud, but not that easy to sleep through. At least not as bad as noise from power generators we had to hear all day on Sunday.
