We booked for 10 nights and the first 3 nights' stay were absolutely fantastic. The views both to the front and rear of the property are spectacular, a plunge pool/hot tub with the most magnificent view I've ever swum in. Unfortunately, our stay was cut short by the fires that ravaged the area. Our host reacted fast, prioritising our safety. Although the surrounding area was burnt, the accommodation wasn't damaged. We were reimbursed for the nights we didn't stay with immediate effect, for which we were very grateful. We will definitely be back once the area is restored. All the best with restoring it back to its former glory. We will see you soon!
Hangklip Huis can only be described in one way, and that is great! The house is very nicely furnished, has an incredible view and is a 3-minute drive from the sea. The hot pool kept the kids busy all weekend. Thanks for all the arrangements, we'll see you again soon!
Although the cold kept us inside, the fireplace was a winner! The hot tub itself was a nice treat, but know that you need a few bags of dry wood for it. The place is cute and has everything one needs for a weekend getaway by the sea.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Hangklip Huis. The house is very private, quiet and peaceful and the sea view is fantastic. Although the house's facilities are more basic we had everything we needed. The house has a good oven and stove, fridge and a large selection of pots, pans and everything you need to make good food. There were also plenty of blankets (and even an electric blanket on the bed for the cold winter nights). We also really enjoyed the fireplace, braai area and hot tub, and the beach was only a 5 minute drive away. Bertus' communication before and during our stay at Hangklip was also excellent. We will definitely stay there again!

Our stay at Hangklip was nothing short of amazing, the tranquillity, breathtaking views and awesome host, Bertus is very kind and willing to assist in any way to make our stay as comfortable as can be. To the host with most, baie baie dankie. This was by far the best getaway we experienced.

Enjoyed the hot tub! Bertus was available online when I had questions. Otherwise, it's a self-check-in, with a fair amount of instructions for the guest to do to get things up and running. Lovely and peaceful, and a great place to unwind.

Except for the power cut, we had a great time with children and grandchildren. The fireplace kept us all warm. Only one baboon came to visit on Sunday afternoon.
Road from tarmac extremely challenging for sedan and even SUV vehicles. First 60 meters were under water and were muddy with deep ruts. Be on the lookout for baboons that have wandered through the garden and completely trashed the vehicle. Amenities basic but with everything needed.
Would love to book the place again.

My family and I needed a break away from the hustle and bustle of city life. This gem delivered. The house meets requirements for a comfortable stay and total relaxation is the end result. The host, Bertus, is an amazing person. He checked up on us as it was raining and there was a power outage upon arrival. He goes over and beyond to make your stay memorable. Will definitely go back.

The house is at the top of the mountain with the most magnificent views. With the mountain on the one side and ocean on the other. After we arrived we immediately went to soak in the hot pool that Bertus kindly warmed up the previous day. That was the start of an amazing, and relaxing weekend. The house is so cosy, well equipped with the most comfortable beds. There is an inside fire place, full WiFi but no TV as you don’t need one at all as if you open the curtains you have all the entertainment you need. We had several braai’s at night, sheltered from the wind and followed by star gazing on the roof. Before you leave I recommend taking shower at the outside rock-shower where only the wildlife will see you au naturel. Incredible experience.
The house is very clean, tidy and well furnished. It is quiet and has a beautiful view. We enjoyed it so much.
It was a privilege to be able to share Bertus and his family's own vacation spot. One can see that they have decorated the place nicely for themselves as well. Everything was thought of. It wind was very unpleasant and even for that there was a cupboard full of games with which we could amuse ourselves. Unbeatable view and nice secluded from all noise and just good rest. The old radar cottage up on the mountain "hangs" over the most beautiful view of the bay. It has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need for your stay. We stayed there in winter and while it was very cold, we had the fireplace going and it was just lovely sipping a glass of red wine with that view. Bertus was a very helpful host who went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed, even upgrading the WiFi so we could work remotely! Thank you for everything.

Perfect for family visits or friends and with children and dogs. It has the mountain, sea, view, fireplace, entertainment of pool and a future swimming pool. And Bertus was excellent, you'll see us again soon.
Everything needed to relax is available.
The sea view at the front of the house is amazing and at the back it is the natural beauty on the mountain slopes. This is a must for anyone looking to switch off and relax. The old building from when it was still a radio station just makes it that much more appealing and love that there are still some of the old gas lights in the house as showpieces. We will definitely go back again and again. Thank you Bertus, your place is wonderful.
Hangklip House is a great find! Such incredible views and so many spaces to enjoy. Very cold in the Winter but the host prepared us for this and we packed warm and made sure we bought lots of wood for the fire. Absolute solitude, there's a house next door but no one was there. The house has great WiFi connection so I could respond to an urgent work matter - but I'd also recommend it as a 'work from anywhere' space. Bertus, your host, is so lovely and helpful and he's building a fantastic space. I have already checked dates for our next trip. These views are so good for the soul!
It was definitely one of our favorite weekends away. Stunning view, peaceful and the house was fully equipped and very tidy. The only downside was that we had to go back home. Thank you very, very much.
The house was a radar station at first, so the layout is more like an office than a house, but it's neatly redone, with everything you need. You are surrounded by beautiful views, with Moonlight Bay in front of you and Hangklip right behind you. There is a nice hiking trail up the mountain. The house is private, but there is another cottage on the yard and you may see the people now and then. We had a great stay and will definitely come again!

What a pleasant surprise! The place is fully equipped and has no shortage of comfort and convenience, the unit offers remarkable views of the sea and fynbos with a nice braai place where you can enjoy a glass of wine with loved ones. The unit is located on a beautiful mountain with stone and greenery. Definitely a nice cozy house in the woods/nature. Would highly recommend the unit. It is a little gem hidden among the fauna and flora. Definitely going to visit again in December!
