Nearby attractions include the wildflowers during the flower season, rare succulent sites, the succulent nursery on Vanrhynsdorp, and a scenic 4x4 Circle Route via the West Coast, Groenrivier and Garies. Walking is the best way to discover small jewels of plants sheltered between taller plants and rocks. Alternatively, guests can create their own mountain biking route in a historically safe environment. There are a limited amount of bicycles for guests to make use of.

Friendly and helpful host. Clean bathrooms with hot shower. We appreciated the enclosed kraal with a braai including light and power point. Take a walk in the town before your leave - quaint and cute.
I can recommend Hardeveld Lodge. Hester was friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was delicious and value for money (you have to book it in advance). The property has solar panels for geysers and lights during load shedding. Nice stopover on the N7.

I booked a tent at Hardeveld Lodge so that I didn't have to pitch a tent myself. It was definitely worth it. There was a cot with bedding, a small table and chairs, exactly as advertised. Furthermore, I ordered a dinner in advance so that I did not need to prepare food myself. It was also definitely worth the money and I had a great meal. The ablution was clean and tidy and I had a lovely hot shower. My vehicle was parked level with my tent opening and parking is very safe behind gate and fence.
The room was nice and clean and contained everything one needs. I will definitely stay at Hardeveld Lodge again. Very nice and peaceful place.

During our mother-daughter road trip here overnight. Clean, tidy with everything you need. Fey is a good hostess. Would love to stay here again and would definitely recommend.
It was value for money and absolutely worth it.
I chose the lodge as a "remote working spot" for a few days. Fey goes out of her way to make sure people are comfortable and sorted. I see a lot of places, and that is definitely one of my top 5!
Very clean house with a nice porch and separate toilet. The shower is one of the best in guesthouses.

We are 2 couples who shared a very well equipped unit! The shower and toilet are separate which made it much easier. There was enough hot water for all of us. The beds were very comfortable and we had a wonderful stay. Because we stayed overnight for 2 days, we could drive the back roads which were beautiful with lots of beautiful flowers! There was ample parking for our 2 vans with even an external power point to connect the fridges in the vehicles at night. Fey is a gem of a hostess! Don't drive by!
We were very warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The accommodation was very neat and clean, we could have a great evening in the communal braai room and the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. We are happy to recommend it.

Very friendly welcome. Room was efficient, tidy and clean. Everything needed was there and there was nothing superfluous. The pre-arranged dinner was tasty, spacious and beautifully served.
Fey gave us a warm welcome and provided the most delicious dinner! Her place is just far enough, and so conveniently located, to stretch out after a long journey.
This was our 12th night of a long tour. The unit was incredibly clean and everything we could possibly need was in the self-catering unit. I can safely say the unit was equipped with the best shower we had on our tour! We were very kindly received by the owner and would wholeheartedly recommend Hardeveld Lodge.

Very nice overnight stay and was very safe for our dog because the backyard was well closed. Owner very friendly and even offered us her gas bottle and pan to use. Was also very clean. Would definitely recommend Hardeveld to stay overnight.
Fantastic place to sleep. We were very shocked to hear about Kobus' death. Fay was so friendly and made us feel welcome. She recognized us from a previous time. Rooms always very clean. Our house was equipped with everything, so felt like "home away from home". We are staying again later in the year. Looking forward to it.

Sociable, hospitable people like only Namaqualand makes them. Big variety of accommodation from a tent to a luxurious suite and also a family unit for a family! Our host is an undertaking person with a heart for his guests and interesting additions like fresh veggies (hmm, those cherry tomatoes!) out of his own greenhouse and GREEN lawns (as thick as a carpet!) for the pitching of tents. I can imagine that this place is a paradise during the flower season! Highly highly recommended! Thanks Werner!
A quiet haven for a halfway stop. Accommodation adequate but not luxury, nice braai facilities. Bring your own meet although braai packs available.
We had a nice stay. Towels can be upgraded. There was a swimming pool which was great. Toilet seat was unfortunately cracked. Gave us a bigger unit was great was. Thought it was a bit expensive for what it was.

Owners personally take care of hospitable and try to fulfill real needs. Prepared with meat packs and soft drinks for sale where self-catering. Will definitely stop there again.

It was raining when we got there. We immediately found a covered parking which made handling the luggage easier. The owner was very helpful and hospitable. The mattresses are of very good quality and sleep well. Overall we were impressed with the place and enjoyed our stay. Thank you very much for your help with the booking. We enjoyed it very much. The rooms were neat and clean and had everything we needed. Kobus was a particularly caring host who looked after us. There is no place to eat out and he served a delicious meal. The breakfast the next morning was excellent and I feel we definitely got value for our money. Would recommend anyone to stay there.

We were pleasantly surprised. The town is very, very small and we were a bit nervous of what we had booked, but, after meeting the owner and seeing our room we were very happy. Hurwig, the owner, was extremely helpful and kind. The room was clean and so was the entire surroundings. We certainly would return.
The accommodation is in relaxing surroundings. The hosts are friendly and helpful. Bathroom was a lovely size and everything was functional. In my opinion, kitchen facilities need to be improved for self-catering especially with respect to cutlery and crockery. But otherwise a very pleasant stay.
