The cottage is comfortably furnished and the 2 days I spent there helped to recharge my batteries. If you are looking for peace and quiet, Herdershuisie is just the place.
Thank you very much, we had a nice stay, a friendly welcome and no misunderstandings regarding accommodation and facilities. Was a different experience for us than what we get at timeshares and we really enjoy it. Local atmosphere, silence and the minimum luxury facilities made it very special for us to spend the night there again.
My father and I had a great stay! We were pretty tired after our long journey and could take a hot shower to wash off the dust. The owners have made an effort with clean linen and all the amenities. The beds are very comfortable and we were able to rest well to be able to travel further. The farm has a very calming effect on weary travelers. The owners greeted us with fresh farm eggs and a bottle of honey to take with us.

Herdershuisie is a cute little place. Pieter and Marietjie received us at the gate and immediately started chatting. The cottage is located in a somewhat built-up area on their premises where they farm with boer goats next door. It didn't bother. Marietjie went to great lengths to contact me after I forgot a piece of clothing and was even willing to send it on.
It was suitable to our needs.

Had friendly interaction during stay. Front door and back door door locks worked very hard. Was not clear at the time of booking that the fire place was not functional due to bad smoke it caused inside the house. Sink for toothbrushing and shaving, etc. empty inside the shower area where you stand and shower.
This is affordable accommodation if you are looking for a roof over your head, with nature and in a rustic setting. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Marietjie and Pieter made us feel so welcome. The house is nicely clean and very nicely renovated and we slept comfortably and warm. The sunrise was picture-perfect!

Marietjie-they were very hospitable. Have a good time at the braai in the kitchen. Just a little trouble with the map on the website, not so accurate, and it's not that far from town.
The owners are very friendly and forthcoming with local information. The huisie is very sweet, with all that is needed for a comfortable stay, including a proper kitchen and fireplace. There is no WiFi but the cell phone signal is good. We would definitely stay at Herdershuisie again.
The smoke smell just bothers me. I don't believe people should make fires inside.
We love the simplicity and convenience of the Herdershuisie. We had a great time in the kitchen with a nice fire. We were received very kindly and the owners went out of their way to make everything comfortable for us.
