8 guests' feedbackThere was not enough toilet paper. Only 1 per toilet, so we had to supply our own. The game's equipment requires serious upgrades, especially the table tennis bats and balls.
We celebrated three birthdays with our 3 children and their husbands and partners and had the most wonderful time. The house is lovely and big. Everyone had their own rooms that were very spacious and all with en-suite bathrooms. The views of the ocean were amazing. We could not fault anything.
Excellent stay, close to the beach and the house was well-equipped.
We had a wonderful stay. All I would suggest is maybe more cleaning. However, there were spiders in the bathrooms, many in corners of rooms. I think the neighbors should be aware of groups that remain there. It was said in the rules that music must be off by 10pm, and then neighbors must not finish at 6.30pm in the evening. It is a house for rent, so people have to accept it. Other than that, the stay was very nice and felt safe at all times.
Very nice view and very good location. House offered a lot and all crockery and bedding were of excellent quality. The games room is definitely an extra bonus and the children can be kept busy there. The extra R300 for the one broken dart was quite outrageous. Lovely weather was definitely a bonus. Will definitely want to go back again.
Water pressure was bitterly, bitterly weak. Upper shower could not be used at all. House was not very clean. Cobwebs and dust.
The house is fully equipped with everything you need. House could maybe have been cleaner because the floor was dirty and there were crumbs under the couches. The lounge areas were also dirty with spots and marks. Lovely games area for kids who enjoyed it a lot. Nice patio where you can relax and the braai area indoors is also nice if the wind is rough. Biggest problem in Paternoster is safety. You are only informed on arrival to get the key that Paternoster is dangerous and that they break into homes and cars if anything is lying around. I also read on forums on the internet and realised that the agent Stay in Paternoster is not at all helpful if there are problems. They also told us that the alarm didn't work if you were inside the house. Which is absolutely not true. All alarm systems can work like that. We had to make our own plan to turn off the passives indoors so that we could at least get the beams around the house to work. This caused fear and anxiety in my kids which caused them to have trouble sleeping during the night. When we checked out we asked when last they had a break-in in the house. The lady answered with difficulty. In the end she admitted that they broke into the house the previous weekend. So unfortunately my first time in Paternoster was also my last. Thanks for a nice stay in the house. It is a pity that the police don't even work in the town.

For use of the games room and games equipment there is an additional refundable breakage deposit of R1000 payable.
Key- and breakage deposit:
Key- and breakage deposit is payable with the deposit for the booking and refundable by bank transfer within 5 - 7 working days after departure, once the house has been scrutinised and all found in order. Please note that the key deposit will be retained and additional charges imposed if more guests than booked are found to be utilising the premises. Please furnish us with your banking details on arrival. Keys will not be handed over under any circumstances unless the key and breakage deposit has been received.
Minimum stay required:
2 nights in low and mid-season
3 nights over long weekends
4 nights over Easter weekend
7 nights in high season
Guests must first visit our offices to check in and get their keys.
When entering Paternoster, turn left at the four-way stop. The 'Stay in Paternoster' office is situated about 75m further, on the right-hand side of the road, at 87 St. Augustine Road.
