Very nice, the place is fantastic. Unfortunately, the house is being built for that and the machines used by the builders were very noisy until late Saturday afternoon. Just hope the owners know their seaview is being taken away. Otherwise, our stay was very nice and we will definitely book the house again in the future.
We had a lovely stay and had everything we needed. Maryna was a lovely host. Gys was very helpful with a couple of questions and also checked in to see if we were having a good time. Thank you.

We had a great time, the house is definitely an "entertainer's dream" with several places throughout the house to socialize and a large kitchen. The pool and lawn are a big plus. Maryna was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely a place I can recommend.

Great entertainer's house with well thought out braai areas. A pity loadshedding negatively affected the pool warming, but that was a minor detail. We loved the place.
Now it's a place you can go and enjoy yourself regardless of the season, winter or summer. I have read previous comments where people talk about dust, but for me it is a drop in the bucket and not something to write home about. I would book that house again anytime. We spot what we enjoyed the most was the top floor at the bar and braai which are next to each other with a view of the sea. It was our first and definitely not our last. I wish I could get a booking to be able to spend Xmas there until after New Year. Will try for 2024 if the Lord's will is there and nothing comes up.

We had a great time and stay. It is a lovely place with more than enough space for 8 people. All that bothered us was the cleanliness. Floors and counters could have received a little more attention with the cleaning. Other than that there were no problems. We really enjoyed the Easter weekend in Jacobs Bay.

The house is very nicely designed with abundant sleeping arrangements. The braai facilities are A1, as is the pool. The agents were very attentive and organised a gas cooker during outages. However, there was a lot of dust under cupboards and beds. For the rest, we had a fabulous stay! Will definitely attempt round number 2.
Very nice holiday home. Well equipped. Everything you expect, and more. We really enjoyed the pool. Don't take the warnings about security lightly. Close at night and set the alarm.
Lovely big thatch house with everything you need, plenty of space and sleeping arrangements. Off-grid lights also there for load shedding. No service though on cellphones during load shedding but that's not a house issue.
Thanks to Sielie, we could just Whatsapp her and she answered us immediately. We had a little problem, one of our friends got lost and the security got her back to us safely - now that's what I call excellent service. The house was well furnished and everything was tidy, we will definitely visit there again.
I cannot fault the house at all. The house is clean and very spacious and has everything you need. Just one disappointment, the pool did not heat up at all. We were looking forward to having the pool heated.
Lovely house, which is very well equipped with everything you need. Even a dishwasher, so no hands needed to put hands in dishwater! It exceeded my expectation. The fact that it is child friendly was a bonus as our almost 2 year old grandchild was also there, and we were able to close the gate so she couldn't go up the stairs. We had such a great time relaxing, 4 days was just too little!
Our family had a wonderful time, it was relaxing a true break away. The house is equipped with everything you need and is very spacious. The temperature of the pool could be a bit higher, as it wasn't very warm for a heated pool. I will say that we did go in winter, and perhaps that's why.
It was a wonderful getaway. The pool on the stoep next to the braai with sea view was a winner. A real cozy home. Perfect for two or three families to get away together. Our children did not want to go home, they loved the interesting house with stairs and many rooms.
The weather over the weekend was quite cold and even though the pool was heated max 28 degrees, it was still too cold especially for the kids. In summer that temperature is perfect but a few degrees up in winter will be a blessing. The security as stated above was critical seeing that we didn't have parking inside.

The temperature of the warm water pool could be a bit higher as it didn't really feel like the water was warm.
Had a great stay and will definitely book again. The only points to look at: some beds' bedding was not washed/replaced - was dirty. Kitchen needs can opener and broom. The bath (plumbing) leaks from the master bedroom's bath to the lower room. When it rains, the lower room (behind the living room) leaks as well as the two beds just in front of the sun porch. Which was nice. The hearth in the kitchen made hours of being together and visiting possible - it was lovely. The dishwasher is a bonus - worked perfectly. The pool was lovely! The kids loved it. Nice big and comfortable house. Suggestion: sun porch - take out the two large tables and put a counter right by the windows - with more chairs.
It was my 2nd stay over and I will definitely book again. My guests thoroughly enjoyed their stay and were impressed by the spaciousness of the house and the abundance of crockery, glassware, cutlery, etc. The owner has even added an airfryer for guests convenience!
I did not get a response to my email in which I asked if it would be possible to stay in the house a little longer on Sunday if no one comes into the house. The DStv was already switched off early on Sunday morning, the heated pool I paid extra for was not heated on Saturday morning but was on Sunday morning. Early on Sunday morning, the heating pump had already switched off.
The house has all the necessary available to ensure that you have a relaxed and and enjoyable stay. There is ample bathrooms and spaces to relax. We absolutely enjoyed the sunset from the upstairs entertainment area. A real gem at an affordable price.
Absolutely my favorite holiday spot, it was my 3rd time there and it truly is home away from home. The cleanliness and tranquility lures me back every time and my dogs enjoy the grassy green lawn from which adults and children enjoy the hot pool. The house itself lacks nothing and enough space for everyone. The agent Marie from Just Property received us very kindly and made everyone feel at home. I can't wait for my return!
Spent the weekend at this establishment with the family. The little ones enjoyed the heated pool and the grass around the venue. We found that the place spacious and just loved the rustic furniture. The inside fireplace was used to heat up the place as it got pretty cold at night. Marie who was our contact, was always available and responded immediately when I contacted her. We enjoyed our stay and will certainly try to get back in the warmer months.
This house has everything you can think of. From an airfryer to dishwasher to blender. There are 3 stunning braais and more than enough crockery and cutlery. The quiet surroundings makes it an awesome place to relax and switch off.

We really enjoyed our stay there, but the only problem we experienced was the hot pool. The temperature was too low, especially during the cold weather. We didn't enjoy it and didn't make use of it after trying it out.

A beautiful oak home, very big and can cater up to more than 8 adults sleeping space. Very child friendly with large green grass yard, stunning pool (take the heated option!) and a 10 minute walk to the nearby beach. Every kitchen utensil available as well as extra bedding and towels. Hidden Jacuzzi in main bedroom but noise travels easily (not a train smash).

I love the house, would definitely go back. Just a request, to re-look at the tiles at the pool and braai area outside, it is very slippery when wet, the children slipped all the time and they can injure themselves badly.
The house was gorgeous along with the view. The pool was nice but not as hot as we expected it to be.
Property is large enough to accommodate a group of people, safe parking and a nice swimming pool.
The house is great for a large family or group, we counted 4 x double type beds, 4 single beds, a cot and what looks like a sleeper couch, so space for everyone. There are 3 braai places a bar and views and plenty, nothing to complain about except maybe the weather, was a real Cape Town winter effort, and prevented us from using the heated pool. The pool was a fantastic 27 degrees but the wind and rain caused us to rather stay inside at the fire. Great pity, but definitely a great option when the weather is better.
A nice big place with a nice view of the sea. There is no Jacuzzi, only a bath upstairs in the room (a hot tub). The pool was not heated, we could only swim the first night. Other than that, it's a nice place. You just can't make a lot of noise. It is nice to go for a walk and the restaurant was very nice.
The only thing I was unhappy about is that the electricity went off 4 times during our stay there and there is no rechargeable lights or generator back up or gas stove to cook, so it becomes very irritating if you have kids with you but other than that house is great. Thanks.
The place gave us that sense of enjoyment, but 2 things were wrong. The heated pool which we payed extra for two nights was only heated for one. The jacuzzi in the upstairs bedroom was leaking and when confronting agent she said its the first time hearing about the issue.
The weekend was too short, we still wanted to stay. We really enjoyed it, the sea air, the tranquility, we immediately felt at home, thank you very much. Will definitely go again.
The family break away was stunning. The facilities was clean, everything was in a working condition. No complaints.

A beautiful house that catered for all our needs. Definitely a very good choice if you need accommodation for a large group or large family.
The house is so nicely set out and with 3 braai areas to choose from, you can only have a good time. The heated outdoor pool and Jacuzzi are both winners and made the weekend even better. A big thank you also to Cassie for making sure that everything was a 100% before we arrived and answered all my questions.

Jacobsbaai Self-catering house is a gem. The house has everything you need and more. Everything was thought of. The sea view and breezes were lovely with a cup of coffee in the morning. The heated swimming pool was a number one hit with the children during the day and also in the evening with the adults. And in the evening after a full day you can relax in Jacuzzi bath. We will definitely visit Jacobsbaai Self-catering again.
The house was spacious enough for our group of 11 plus our little dog. The pool was a highlight. The braai areas (x3) ensured cozy evenings. The host, Cassie, is a wonderful person and so is his wife. The location so close to the sea is breathtaking, especially near sunset. I slept so soundly that I never experienced the sunrise, but I'm sure it's just as beautiful. I wish I could retire here one day. The house itself is not 100% perfect. The toilet of the full bathroom on the ground floor must be covered when you flush to prevent water, which shoots up the gable, from wetting the floor. Most of the keys have trouble turning, probably the result of some rust at sea? The few small issues I contacted the host about were resolved immediately, for example when a key broke a new one was arranged by Cassie within minutes.

The house and view were wonderful. The heating for the swimming pool is an optional extra and costs R600. I was asked to turn off the pool the night before we walked. Then I only turned it off on Sunday, before we drove. The agent was of the opinion that I was running the pump unnecessarily. I then explained that I was paying for it and he continued to argue. Furthermore, I emailed to arrange to take my puppy with me. He didn't answer. I called him to get permission. The ad is pet friendly. He said the dog will bark if we go out and it will cost R950 for cleaning if I bring the dog with me.
Really enjoyed everything about Jacob's bay, the house was amazing and so comfortable for kids to really play and the top side the pool was heated.
The layout of the house is great, especially with teenagers where they can use the upstairs and hang out.

This is our second time at Jacobsbaai Self-catering and it’s always as homely! Large enough for 3 families sharing a large kitchen and a famous braai room overlooking the sea.
It is the ideal holiday home for a larger family with all the necessary utensils possible in a large kitchen. The drought definitely had a negative impact on the lawn that cut the games outside short, but at least the heated pool more than made up for it. We can definitely recommend the place.

It was a lovely stay, just a little disappointed in the heated pool, as it was winter the pool wasn't very warm, but we made use of it. But it was a weekend that will not soon be forgotten. We thoroughly enjoyed it.

It's a wonderful house in a beautiful part of the world. The house has everything one could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. My only suggestion for an even better experience would be to heat the pool to at least 38-40 degrees especially since there is an additional charge for heating and at 30 degrees the water was too cold for us to enjoy.
In general we were quite satisfied with the accommodation. Looking forward to staying there again.
We spent wonderful evenings in front of the fire, playing games. We could see the beautiful sunsets and take amazing pictures at the sea. The children could ride their bikes whenever, wherever they wanted to.
Hierdie was alles en nog meer van wat 'n mens van 'n vakansieplek verwag. Die rustigheid van die plek is om van te droom. Cassie is 'n yster, goeie gesindheid, vriendelik en behulpsaam hy het ons laat voel asof dit ons huis is. Baie dankie Cassie. Alles was tip top, die huis het alles soos in alles, die kinders het die swembad terdeë geniet. Dit was definitief nie die laaste sien van ons gesin nie, ons kan nie ophou praat van ons vakansie nie, dit was fantasties.

Jacobs Bay was perfect for our family to go on holiday. The accommodation was well furnished and tidy. Friendly community, very quiet and peaceful environment, nice fishing spot, breathtaking nature scenes.
Everything was perfect and met expectations. The house is very spacious and easily accommodated 3 families with 2 children each. In our case it worked out ideally with the 3 teenage boys in the farthest room downstairs and the 3 primary school boys in the room upstairs in front of the stoep/bar. I would just suggest (although I realize, with use, it's hard to keep up) that you just make more tall glasses/glasses available in general. We also found that the sharp knives were too few. The shower on the upper level also created half a problem (we were informed that the shower was leaking). Then "traffic" gets bad at the single shower on the lower floor. But overall we had a great weekend. We can recommend it and will definitely use the house again as soon as our everyone's programs allow it! Next time we will definitely also just provide for more wood! 20 bags were too few, that house is hopelessly too cozy!

On the day when we arrived at the house we arrived much earlier than check-in time, it was around 12pm. The ladies who cleaned the house was very nice, welcomed us warmly. I called Cassie to advised him that we have arrived and not to worry we will walk around as I know we are early. He was not friendly he was kinda annoyed that we came early he didn't even introduce himself he just said, 'Why are you doing this to me?". He said it's too early and we should go to the Weskus Restaurant and he will call us when we can come. At 2 pm we left the restaurant and Cassie still did not phone, when we got to the house no one was there. I called him and ask him why he did not phone he said he thought I will phone him. Then he had a fine cheek to say: "Okay, let's start over. I am Cassie and welcome to Jacobsbaai." I just walked in and made my family comfortable. We paid for the house for two days I just wanted to have a wonderful time. Cassie has no courtesy or he was just in a bad mood that day. I suggest he works on that as he is working with people on a daily basis that comes from far and wants to relax and enjoy them. The other issue I had, when we got there he only put on the geyser so the water was cold, also you pay to get the pool heated however he sets a timer on the pool. It only stays warm for 2 hours. Also, please tell the guests on arrival you can't play music. Don't phone the next day when the radio is a bit loud. I will never go to this house again.

It's a beautiful house and well kitted out, it was very dusty though and the heated pool wasn't warm at all and that was the main reason we booked the house. We were also charged an extra R150 per day for the use of the pool by the local agent who handed us the keys, which we couldn't use because the water wasn't even lukewarm.
The dwelling is advertised as being able to accommodate 12 people which it can however: 1. It is advertised with two garages of which only one is available. 2. On arrival the pool was green and my grandchildren could not swim in it! 3. The floor pan of the upstairs shower overflowed to such an extent that water leaked through the wooden floor onto the dining room table downstairs and so could not be used! This meant that all seven of us either had to use the shower downstairs or the bath in the master bedroom! 4. The windows in the add-on family braai area upstairs are so ill fitting that both the wind and rain comes through again onto wooden floors. The rain leaks through right next to an electrical wall power point. This is highly dangerous as this is a thatched dwelling. 5. The mobile gas braai is so rusted that we dared not use it! 6. The gates for cars to enter are very badly fitting and difficult to open and close! 7. It is15 kms to nearest general shopping amenities. A plumber was sent round to attend to the shower who advised that nothing could be done, the owners had been advised on more than one occasion that the floor pan is too shallow and the water outflow cannot cope. On the positive side, Cassie Claasens the local agent couldn't do enough to accommodate us, he responded to any issue we had immediately and is not to be seen as responsible especially for the shower issue!
The house was big enough for what we needed. Nice lawn outside with a pool. Although with the wind pumping right onto the pool, we didn't really use it. The house has 3 fireplaces which is great. We opted to braai in the kitchen area as it was too cold and windy outside. However, the kitchen braai doesn't pull nicely so we had a bit of a smokey issue. The kitchen was well stocked, although it needs a bit of a good clean. Because the place obviously stands vacant most of the time, the kitchen cupboards have a bit of a musty smell. The rooms were good enough. The main bedroom is really nice and spacious and has a jacuzzi bath tub. The shower upstairs in the open sleeping area doesn't drain the water away quickly enough so one has to keep the showers short and sweet. There is also a nice entertainment area on the top floor with a nice view, but also not used much as it is seperate from the downstairs area and kitchen, so instead of carrying everything upstairs it was best to just braai downstairs. The house is overall good for a weekend or few days. It is not a bright sun filled house. It has more of a rustic feel to it with lots of wood and thatch roof, but good enough for a West Coast visit. I think it just needs a bit of TLC and a good clean up.
We thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and plan to return annually. It was one of our best weekends ever and the fact that the kids were able to play and swim safely is a bonus. A thousand thanks for the guest freedom and friendly welcome.
This place is perfect for a lovely weekend with family or friends. The location is perfect for a breathtaking view of the sunrise or sunset. The upper braai area is perfect for a delicious late afternoon braai while enjoying the view. The swimming pool also offers a lovely place to hang out next to another braai area on the outside.
Beautiful spacious house, just a pity the pool did not heat up to the desired temperature. Other than that my friends and I had a wonderful weekend. Great destination away from home with family or friends.

We had a great time and rested here. The house is spacious with enough barbecue to feed a nation. The kitchen and bar area were our favorite hangouts not to mention the lush green lawn around the pool. Everything was tidy and there is more than enough equipment to be able to prepare even a large Christmas meal. The area is quiet and peaceful and we never felt unsafe thanks to the alarm, outdoor sensors and the faithful guard patrolling at night. The master bedroom is enormous and the two rooms downstairs are also beautiful. The fourth bedroom upstairs was a bit cramped and the lack of a window that could open, especially in the summer, might be addressed in the future. Other minor problems are the overhead shower that leaks badly and the dim lighting. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our time on Jacobs Bay and I would like to thank Cassie and Miems for their kindness and helpfulness with the rubbish removal and electricity supply. It's excellent service. The house lends itself perfectly to large families or even four couples who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is more than enough space for nice gatherings, but also privacy to read a book somewhere. We will definitely visit again!

I was very impressed with Jacobs Bay. The house is big and beautiful! And has absolutely everything you can think of (down to a pressure cooker). We had three children between 1 and 5 together and the house was child friendly! We thoroughly enjoyed our time at home with family and friends. The open plan sleeping area for the children was an absolute winner, because we could have a barbecue and they could watch TV just half with each other. And the 2 TVs are the best, men watch rugby and children watch Disney Junior. Big, neat and affordable; ideal guest house for a medium-sized group.

I would recommend putting burglar bars in front of the lower windows and doors. The toaster and ice machine did not work. Everything else was up to standard.
The place is fine the house and surroundings are beautiful. But this is not a place for a group of friends to go and enjoy themselves. Almost everything was a problem: no music, no speaking in a loud tone. I mean, what do they expect from a group of young people, we paid, and we expected to have a good time. They should clearly state that this place is not for young people. The heated pool was definitely not heated. Never again.
We received great customer service even though we only booked two days before arrival. This was no problem for the owners. The heated pool was fantastic! The children really enjoyed it, even though it was winter. We will definitely book again.
A real guest house! The adults can relax while the children play outside or in the pool. We can't wait to go again. Again, many, many thanks!
We had an incredibly nice weekend. The house is quite big. There is plenty of parking for cars and boats. The dogs enjoyed themselves. The people are friendly and the village is incredibly beautiful.
A wonderful house with enough space for a large group. The pool was a great asset and the lounge area upstairs offers fantastic views with a great atmosphere.

The house has a lot of space and a lot of atmosphere. It is ideal for teenagers. The master bedroom upstairs was very special with the jacuzzi and the skylights that let in the lazy autumn sun and tempt you to spend the morning with a book while the rest of the family enjoy themselves in the hot pool.
It is a nice visiting house. Even in winter the warm fireplace is lovely. The environment is beautiful.

We were a group of five, and really enjoyed ourselves. The house has a very nice barbecue and places to hang out inside and outside.
Jacobsbaai is very beautiful and peaceful, and we had a great time.

Please note that the neighbouring property is under construction since February 2024, causing some noise and impacting on privacy and sea views near the pool. The works are progressing at speed and should be done within a few months.Please note that a surcharge of R250 per day will apply to have the pool heated, and a lead time of at least 3 days is required. As the pool is electrically heated, this optional extra service will not be available under loadshedding higher than Level 2.

Kindly note that the maximum number of guests is strictly applied, and is subject to an additional charge of R750.00 per extra person per night, if exceeded. As we are surrounded by permanent residents, we kindly require our guests to adhere to the Code of Conduct of the Jacobsbaai Ratepayers Association, with no excessive noise; quiet times of after 22h00 on weeknights; 24h00 on weekends; and 13h00 to 17h00 on Sundays.
The house can accommodate up to a maximum of 8 adults and 4 children and comprises 4 bedrooms, 4 double beds and 4 single beds in the living area. The unit features 3 bathrooms, a large kitchen, 2 living rooms, 3 indoor braai areas, one with a bar and limited sea views. The kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering.
The swimming pool can be heated as an optional extra by an electrical heat pump for an additional R250 per night of your stay. To conserve electricity, the heat pump is sometimes switched off if no guests are expected. Should guests wish to have the pool heated, a lead time of at least 3 days is required. The pool is heated to approximately 28 degrees Celsius, and although not a hot tub, it is still like a summer pool in the bushveld. Kindly note that the heating is heavily affected by load shedding, and the heating might not be available with load-shedding higher than Level 2.
All of our neighbours are permanent residents and for that reason, we do not allow guests to host events or loud parties that may cause a nuisance. We plead with guests to respect this.
The spacious lawn is a hit with children and pets. The house is pet-friendly within reason and prior arrangement.
