We had a great time! It's an absolute gem of a place, very neat and carefully prepared with attention to detail. We were welcomed with a delicious fire that burned high. Very easily accessible from the N1, which makes it a good option if you want to spend the night on the way.

Beautiful, secluded, peaceful stopover on the way home from the WC. The hostess is the best and her Karoo Lamb pie is a winner! And the star gazing - amazing.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at Jakhalsfontein Guest Farm. The location is very conveniently close to the N1, but far enough that you don't hear the traffic. The accommodation is very neat and comfortable. The only suggestion would be to provide a microwave oven and install a sink in the kitchen, then the place would be perfect. The stars are breathtaking on this farm.
Lovely peaceful and convenient stopover, just off the N1, but far enough not to hear the traffic. Such a friendly and accommodating hostess, and we had a delicious home-cooked farm dinner.

It was my son's 20th birthday, and we wanted to spend the night somewhere special. Kirsten, our hostess, let us know two days before our arrival that she also offers dinners. It was so convenient and we were able to celebrate a wonderful birthday!

No criticism. The rondavel is very, very neat. Everything is there that one needs for an overnight stay - or even longer. It is conveniently close to the N1, but without the noise. There is a lovely farm pond to cool off in, but unfortunately we were there too late in the evening to enjoy it. Kirsten is the perfect hostess. She waited until late for us to arrive and we were then treated to a delicious meal and even dessert and fruit juice. Don't miss the opportunity to take advantage of this dining option. The location between Cape Town and Pretoria is excellent. The silence was wonderful and the reception warm and friendly.
Perfect overnight stop, with even a farm pond to swim in. The lamb pie was great, and the hospitality top notch. My little dog also thoroughly enjoyed himself going for a walk on the farm.

Kirsten is a fantastic hostess. Unfortunately, we only stayed 1 night and did not know in advance about the delicious, and very reasonable, dinner that she can prepare. Next time we will definitely use that option instead. Feel free to inquire about it when you book. The farm itself is very peaceful with a rich animal and bird life.

Me, my daughter and 2 grandsons had a great stay. The boys really enjoyed the space outside and had fun playing. The house is clean and very tidy. There just isn't a sink in the kitchen.

The accommodation was perfect for a stop-over for our family and Kerstin communicated well before our arrival, made sure that we arrived safely and was a lovely host. The lamb pie and malva pudding made for a hearty, warm dinner. We would definitely stop over again.

We have truly enjoyed our stay. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home and to ensure the most pleasant experience. The unit was spotless with a lovely smell that left a lasting impression. Our stay was met with unmatched peace and quiet and unforgettable moments such as watching the sunset, seeing the night sky filled with stars, and having morning coffee while watching the sunrise. I look forward to our next visit!
Really a dream of a farm.
A perfect halfway spot to rejuvenate and unwind after a long drive. Kirsten was a friendly, welcoming host and offered a hearty meal but we arrived with goodies for a barbeque which we enjoyed in the relaxing and serene surroundings. It rained during the night so the long gravel road leading to the farm was heavily puddled, muddy and slippery the following morning, which made our departure from the farm a bit of a skidding, sliding rollercoaster ride and left our vehicle covered in mud. Fortunately, Kuilfontein Farm Stall was kind enough to allow us to hose down our vehicle. Irrespective of that I would still recommend a stay at Jakhalsfontein.

Thanks Kirsten & Michael for the warm welcome, it was lovely after a long day on the road. . The rondavel is lovely with the thatch roof. It is clean, well appointed and ideal for an overnight stay (or longer). There are so many stars at night and it is so peaceful. A lovely refreshing stay - we will be back.
