Lovely! We went for lovely walks and a drive and saw a host of wild animals. It's off the beaten track, so go for two nights if you can and if you have a 4x4. Ask to stay in the berg huisie. It's stunning!
If you have the dirt road behind you, this incredibly beautiful part of the Karoo is absolutely worth seeing. We got stuck because flooding the day of departure, but that was part of the experience. I would recommend it anytime.
Gert and Julia are so hospitable. We were so pampered and lacked for nothing. We hope to stay there again soon.
It's a bit far from the N1 and the 15 km dirt road takes about 20 minutes to drive with a bakkie. But for a leisurely traveler who is not pressed for time, it is a nice adventure. Would not recommend tackling the dirt road with a sedan car.
Very friendly reception, farm can be explored by walking, mountain bike and also vehicle. House is neat and clean.
The farm is about 15 km from the main road on a gravel road. No cellphone signal, so perfect for breaking away from everything. The stars were incredible and the farm clean and well appointed.
Good, hospitable people and a neat well equipped home. It's an incredibly nice experience to can relax in the Karoo. It was very nice and will definitely return sometime and not just for evening. Thank you Gert and Julia.
Gert and Julia are probably some of the most hospitable people I have ever met. The house is very neat (new), with a delicious indoor and outdoor barbecue. Feel free to order meat and sausage from Gert before you go - delicious Karoo sheep. We went as a group of bikers, but it would be a great getaway for a family or group of friends. Quiet and secluded, with only the Karoo around you.
Very nice place to stay and really nice people. We were welcomed like family. Karoo hospitality at its best. The house has everything one needs. The silence of the Karoo is wonderful.
The house is beautiful, nicely decorated and very well equipped. It is surrounded by Karoo veld; the silence and blue-blue sky is a pleasure for the soul! Julia and Gert are very friendly and helpful. Can definitely recommend!
A piece of heaven on earth that we recommend with great boldness, especially for people who can appreciate the silence and seclusion of the Karoo. The house is very cozy and comfortably furnished, with everything you need. For example, it's the first guest house where I get an extension cord so that it's not a struggle to dry hair far from a mirror. Gert and Julia make sure that their guests feel at home and have a good time.
