Location was fantastic - Room was clean and comfortable (would be nice to have a TV). Staff were friendly and accommodating. Bar area and rock pools were lovely. It was disappointing that the main hotel pool was green on one of the hottest days possible; it was still swimmable, but I was so looking forward to a beautiful blue crystal clean pool, especially on a hot weekend. The breakfast experience was unfortunately a huge disappointment. There were 2 other couples; one couple were having a complaint about fresh juice with the waitress and they upped and walked out. The waitress was so busy trying to sort out the juice issue, we were ignored for 15 minutes, during which time the second couple also left without eating for not getting any service. We eventually also left without being served after about 20 minutes without breakfast.
All in all a good experience the staff were warm and welcoming. The rooms were well prepped for and appointed for the weather. The aircon was a godsend in the early hours of the morning when fire had died out!. The only (minor) negatives: our 1st room (25) TV suddenly stopped working we were moved to Room 29 which whilst having the same features was not as well layed out (I did suggest a swivel bracket for the TV as it is uncomfy to watch from bed) The bathroom had a faulty light and could not get the heater to work (advised housekeeping). I did find it odd that no soap was provided for apart from the small tube of shampoo?
Deluxe room was standard, no separate shower, shower was above the bath, no hand soap in the bathroom, no hairdryer, no spoons for stirring the coffee. DStv remote but could not find TV remote. Restaurant does not have a liquor licence. The waitress fetched a bottle of wine from the bar, only one brand and cultivar (no choice). We had to open the bottle ourselves. After dinner, we went to the bar and wanted to buy another bottle of wine. The bar lady said they don't have wine; apparently, the owner only brings a few bottles at a time to the bar. So we asked if we could perhaps have a glass of dessert wine or a liquor, but they did not have either. Karoo1 Hotel is a beautiful place, but I think it is lacking a manager.
It's as if the resort has become abandoned and all the attention is focused on the glamping facilities. The shower head and faucet in the bathroom are faulty, as is the toilet handle. The cobwebs and the dust in the room were noticeable. The bed is made out and very uncomfortable. The service at the restaurant was very good, but the food is not worth the money you pay.
No, the first rooms' toilet seats were both broken, and the pool was green with algae everywhere. Then we moved to other rooms, where we were left without water and unable to shower. We ordered simple pizzas, but they added one of the ingredients incorrectly. I will not stay there again.
We asked for a room with a bathroom with a separate shower, this was confirmed, but our room's shower was in the bath. The beds are old and you can feel the springs. The curtains fall from the rails, paint peels off the walls. The gardens need a lot of attention. The restaurant did not have ingredients for some of the dishes on the menu. I would not stay there again or recommend it.
It seems the hotel is in need of upgrading - the venue is quirky and has potential, but outside accommodation area wasn't clean. . Rooms were clean, but not consistent - no small tables as in photo, only one bed lamp had a bulb, our room had no clothing rail nor a hanger. The other room did.

Restaurant and Brasserie:
- We have a Country Gourmet Restaurant on-site (kitchen closes at 20h30 PM.
- Note that restaurant times will be adjusted as per lockdown regulations.
- The Restaurant opens for breakfast at 07h30 AM – 10h00 AM
- No alcohol is allowed on the premises, (corkage will be charged per bottle.)
- The Bar is open from 12h00 – 23H00pm.

- We remain steadfast in this commitment to cleanliness and hygiene. We have taken additional measures to ensure that all our rooms, restaurant and common areas are and continue to be of the highest standards of care, and to provide exceptional service to our guests, so you can stay with us with confidence. We require that all guests adhere to the following protocols whilst staying at Karoo 1 Hotel Village:
- Masks: It is compulsory that all guests will be required to wear masks at all times except when: In your bedroom, while eating or drinking in the restaurant and bar while enforcing social distancing, when sitting together in a related small group, in well-spaced outdoor areas, a minimum of 1.5 m apart, a minimum of 1.5 m apart in our indoor areas.
- Sanitisation and hand-washing: All entry points require that you utilise the hand sanitation stations upon entering.
- Please wash your hands for a minimum of 20 seconds regularly.
- Hand sanitiser is provided in all guest’s rooms for your own usage during your stay with us. Should you wish to purchase the in-room amenity, please liaise with reception.
Cancellation Policy:
Deposit Policy: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of making the reservation.
- Full pre-payment is required prior to arrival.
- Karoo1 Hotel Village reserves the right to amend deposit requirements during peak periods.
- No-show Policy: A 100% reservation fee will be applicable to all no-show reservations.
- Cancellation Policy: Guests making travel and booking arrangements with the Karoo1 Hotel Village must have their own personal or business travel insurance to support any cancellation or curtailment of their booking. - In the event that the accommodation is not taken up Karoo1 Hotel Village will have the right to deem the amounts due in lieu of the cancellation penalties and, in addition, have the right to release reservations where deposit and/or payment is not received.

These farm-style units can each accommodate 4 guests. The bedrooms are furnished with a queen-size bed or 2 single beds and use a private bathroom fitted with a bath with a hand-held shower, toilet and washbasin. Quality linen and bath towels are provided; however, guests are required to bring their own swimming towels. These air-conditioned rooms offer comfortable overnight accommodation and include a dining area, a TV with DStv, a fireplace and tea- and coffee-making facilities. Access to free limited Wi-Fi is available.
This guesthouse offers guests a choice of 25 beautifully appointed rooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The rooms feature comfortable beds, soft duvets, crisp linen, and private entrances.
