95 guests' feedbackA beautiful, neat, well-equipped unit with a breathtaking view for those visitors who want to fully experience nature. Definitely a must visit place. There is a beautiful swimming pool and well marked walking trails. NB would like to recommend some tea, coffee, milk as well as two towels which will make the stay a little more comfortable.
The beautiful surrounds of the koppie these houses are built in were the best. All I could say was beautiful. The houses were rustic, but what I expected, and if you see it, it is all solar panel electricity; it is special.
Very quiet and peaceful in nature. Unfortunately, rain cut our stay short.
See stars.
Everything was beyond expectation. The hiking trail was very beautiful. Pool is big. A quiet weekend in nature.
Beautiful place, lovely atmosphere, and the host was very friendly and helpful.
The visit at Katkop was wonderful. The most beautiful view.
Probably still relatively unknown as a real holiday destination, Katkop far exceeded our modest expectations! We were kindly received by Dwayne for our two-day stay there. He was always ready for a nice chat or to provide information. The cottage, Kruloor, was sufficient for us and at a very affordable price. Everything at Katkop is of course self-catering. Impressive is the entire Katkop Resort's design, with only a total of 48 people allowed to stay, as well as the water supply pipes that are inconspicuously dug into the rough, stony terrain, and the total independence from Eskom, as all electrical equipment is solar powered. Hot water is provided by gas heaters. The panoramic view of the low-lying fields and the horamic view up the mountain are breathtaking! Of the 3 available hiking trails, we took on the Klipspringer hiking trail. The trail, with all its stones and rocks, was very well marked. We can unequivocally recommend Klipkop to everyone. But be warned: you are close to nature here! It can get cold in the winter, it can get hot in the summer (with only the nice, big swimming pool as an escape), the wind can blow strong out of the gorge, and if it rains, the roads can be muddy. And there is no such thing as a television or WiFi! But if silence, with only the sounds of birds, is your preference, then it sounds like Katkop is your kind of place!
Yes, it was fantastic. From the village area to a mountainous environment was special.
We loved the place. Hush, hush! It was peaceful, nice swimming and walking.
We had an awesome stay.
Lovely, breathtaking view, fresh clean air.
Katkop Oord is a wonderful place! The scenery is breathtaking, and the rustic accommodation is very comfortable. The wildflowers and the hiking trail to the viewpoint are a must. It is a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature!
Very nice place with a fantastic view, in the middle of nothing and nowhere, just the place to relax wonderfully.
The silence a pleasure for the soul.
Didn't use all the facilities, but it was very nice and peaceful. The view and mountains are incredibly beautiful.
We had a great time staying at Katkop. The cottages have a million dollar view and the amount of different flowers that grow there is definitely a must see. Although it is far from the main roads, it was an unforgettable experience for us: the silence, the birds, the variety of walking routes, the very well planned house, the beautiful swimming pool and of course the fantastic view! Hettie, our hostess, definitely went the extra mile for us!
Here you can rest well!
Very neat and clean facilities with the most beautiful view.
A lovely, nature-rich getaway. But certainly not in cold, rainy weather. The house is simple and basic, without reading lights because only solar power and gas for hot water. So I would say: I can recommend it, but choose a moderate time of the year. Hospitality and helpfulness are first class.
It was such a wholesome experience in the heart of nature. I will definitely go again!
Nice stay with breathtaking view. Owners go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Owner even came to check if everything was ok. These are the most wonderful people. This was our 2nd time and will definitely go back again. Thanks for the help with the car battery. You guys are simply awesome!
Was delicious and beautiful surroundings with good facilities. Swimming facilities were great for children and adults.
We had a great stay, beautiful view and nice owners. I would definitely recommend it. We visited villages such as Elandsbaai, Lambertsbaai and Klawer while staying here. Thank you Hettie and Koos!
We had a lovely weekend. The houses are in the mountain with the most beautiful view. Drove to Lamberts Bay and Elands Bay for a day trip (Malgas babies come in November, but the breeding pairs were already there, 18,000 birds in one heap, it was beautiful to see). Also saw beautiful flowers. Had delicious fish and sushi at Isabellas in Lambertsbaai. Beautiful hiking trails in the mountain at Katkop.
The return to the city was with a heavy heart. The break was good for all of us. We enjoyed the hiking trail and the view is a plus. We will definitely return!
Very neat accommodation, and it is on top of the mountain which offers a beautiful view. We stayed two nights there - but it was too little! Cottages are very nicely furnished and comfortable. It rained terribly the first night, and although they scraped the road immediately the next morning, I would still recommend a four wheel drive vehicle in such situations!
Heavenly, away from the hustle and bustle. Breathtaking views. Sil in nature.
Most beautiful view, peaceful atmosphere. Road to resort in wet conditions very dangerous. We slipped properly, was stressful.
The chalets are spacious, well kept and well-equipped. The view is inspiring and the hikes are good. We did not need Wi-Fi as the cell signal was very good.
We had a wonderful stay. Slept very nice and warm. Everything that needed to work worked well. The view is breathtaking as well as the scenery.
Here we were one with nature. Here you literally step into nature from your place of residence. The accommodation is modern, clean, tidy and practical. We plan to visit again at the end of October.
Would really recommend, Hettie and her husband and son received us very kindly and Hettie was so nice to keep in touch with the directions the whole time, the places are perfect to get away from technology and just appreciate the silence and nature.
The getaway was just what we needed. It was nice and quiet and we did a lot of good the 2 days. Away from everything and everyone, the tranquility and the beautiful sky. If you want to clear your head go to Katkop, it will do you a lot of good.
Cottages are very well furnished and built, you are not in the other guests' way, the view is breathtakingly beautiful and wonderful with nature's silence around you. It's also animal friendly. Houses are neat and well planned.
We really enjoyed the 2 evenings, the owners are friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the hiking trails, and the lookout was worth the hike. We had a barbecue at the cottage, and it was nice and private. The places are neat and clean, actually look better than in the photos. It is very peaceful and safe, and will definitely use the pool when the weather is a bit warmer. Here you forget about work and just enjoy nature, with a coffee on the porch with an awesome view over the fields and mountains. Will definitely book (Boskat) again.
We were with our small children at the resort where they had a great time playing and walking with the friendly dog. They also really enjoyed the pool and trampoline. Our 7-year-old was able to enjoy the hiking trail with us. What a view! Special vegetation and birds seen. The houses were neat and clean with everything you need. It's also nicely decorated and has decent mattresses and bedding. Very hospitable reception and service. The little shop has everything you need. . If you want to get away and seek silence, but still want something for the kids, this is perfect. We can't wait to go again and it's only about 30 km from the beach at Lambertsbaai or Doringbaai.
Katkop Oord is definitely something to relive. Tucked away between beautiful slopes of green and stone, I recommend it to everyone. The owners are extremely helpful and make it their job to make everyone feel extra welcome. The residential units are beautiful and definitely well looked after, clean and cosy. Katkop Oord is definitely on my next holiday list again.
The place is amazing we enjoyed our stay, and the service is fantastic as well. They accommodated us with a small problem we had and couldn't be more grateful and appreciative.
Units need ceilings and fans. Very hot under the metal roof.
Myself, husband and kids went on our first-ever family vacation and katkop was the best option. We took early morning walks and enjoyed the mountain view. The people were so kind and always there to help at any given time and my son made a furry friend and misses her so much little mia the smartest dog I know️.
Beautiful surroundings, a must for walkers and nature lovers. Everything is very neat and well maintained. Very quiet and peaceful, here you can relax and enjoy the natural beauty. It is near big towns.
Breathtaking! The most beautiful views and so peaceful! Wonderful hiking trails. Also a small shop with the basic necessities. We will definitely visit again!
Very pleasant host and hostess.
Lovely view of beautiful mountains and plains. Beautiful plants. Quiet and peaceful stay. Felt safe and could contact anytime if we wanted to know or needed anything. The dirt road from Graafwater has just been scraped and is drivable, but you have to drive carefully, it's very rocky. It's a wonderful escape from stress and is recommended to experience. Thank you very much.
Great relaxation in nature in a safe and peaceful environment.
We had a lovely stay in the mountains with the mist drifting past us in the cosy chalet. We found everything that we needed in the chalet. We had a lovely braai outside and sat on the little stoep. Thank you Hettie for everything.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, Katkop is the place for you.
Clean accommodation set amongst amazing scenery and very friendly, accommodating hosts. We are definitely keen to return and take on some of the 4x4 trails in the area.
Beautiful place. Most beautiful vegetation after rain. Super neat. A mat in the bathroom will save one's feet from the cold. Very friendly and helpful owners. Solar power.
Everything was good. They helped one of us who was hurt. Always checking in to see if everything was still ok.
What a very nice and peaceful place to unwind for a few days. You can sit on the porch all day and stare out over the plains or go for a walk around. Hettie kept me updated with the necessary information in advance, which is appreciated.
People who like nature will definitely enjoy it there, very peaceful, views are beautiful and all, will visit Katkop Oord again.
A fan on the inside of the house would be very welcome. It is too hot with that corrugated metal roof. Salt and pepper, small things like that would also be welcome.
The nature is very beautiful and peaceful. Nice walk late afternoon. We visited a different beach every day. Luckily we drove a bakkie for the dirt road to Graafwater.
It was a wonderful visit with my son where we could safely ride bikes and enjoy the beauty of flowers. Very centrally located for further excursions should you wish.
New chalets built on a farm along a gravel road. The views are spectacular. The chalets are off the grid and are fairly well-appointed but fall short here and there. Biggest issue is that it was exceedingly cold under that chrome/tin roof.
If you love nature this is the best place to go and relax.
We had a great time at Katkop Oord. The environment is incredibly beautiful. The house was tidy with everything we needed. Only a few kilometers from Lamberts Bay, Doring Bay etc. We were therefore able to work in some nice beach days for the children as well.
Had a wonderful visit with beautiful views and peaceful atmosphere. Place was very clean and tidy. We were kindly received, will definitely go again.
The place is very well located and I don't believe one can get more peaceful and quiet. It is totally safe there and the view is fantastic. The people are so helpful and friendly, it feels like I've known them for years. The houses are very neat and well equipped. I gladly recommend the place.
The reception was friendly and the cottage was clean and tidy. Immediately felt at home and comfortable. The cottage is also bigger than we expected and is properly equipped with everything needed to make the visit as pleasant and comfortable as possible. The view from the cottage is absolutely breathtaking and the 4x4 route took us to more beautiful places. We just wanted to get away and rest and this gem of a resort has everything to make that possible. We will definitely be there again soon! Well done Koos and Hettie!
Peaceful natural environment.
The excellent rock formations and hiking trails are indescribable.
WiFi would be appreciated.
We were at Katkop resort on the weekend of 2-4 September, what a pleasant surprise awaited us, between the mountains on a hill was our little house. The surroundings were so peaceful and beautiful with all the wild flowers and reindeer bush plains talking to us for volumes. Our hosts Kobus were very helpful and very concerned and they exceeded our expectations. Our cottage was completely well equipped, actually very very luxurious for what we expected, thank you very much your team, well done for what you do, keep up the good work.
Reception was cordial. The house is very neat and well furnished. We had a great rest and walked. Great place to get away from hustle and bustle.
Our visit was definitely too short. Katkop is definitely a return and recommendation. Hettie and son received us well and made the visit as good as possible. Thank you guys.
Aunt Hettie and Uncle Koos are incredibly hospitable. Their place is very well equipped and has everything you could possibly need and more. Views are breathtaking. Will definitely visit again.
Excellent, just very hot in summer, fantastic family getaway.
There are nice walking and 4x4 routes on the farm.
The hosts are friendly and helpful. The venue is just what we were looking for away from crows and noise. Kids could play and swim and we could relax. The mountain side chalets are peaceful and you are surrounded by nature.
We had a wonderful stay and rested despite adverse wind conditions which meant that we could not use the hiking trails. Hettie was so kind and offered to let us stay another day for free, so we could go hiking. Katkop Resort is a newly developed resort with new residential units. Everything is new, clean, tidy and fully equipped. The scenery and views were fantastic. Thanks again to Hettie, Koos and Dwayne for their kindness and care.
Koos and Hettie have created an oasis for busy people, with Katkop Oord as the beacon that guides you there. The houses' placement and unique formation around the landscape is well thought out. The cottages are comfortable and appropriately equipped. As a group, we were able to visit Jakkalsdraai's stoep together and enjoy the views. Thank you for the continuous concern and attention we have received from you. We would definitely recommend Katkop Oord.
View from residential unit is very nice. Environment is very beautiful. Sugar bushes are everywhere visible and in bloom.
Received a lot of kindness and helpfulness from Hettie. Would stay again anytime but must stay at least 3 nights to experience everything.
That place crawled deep into my heart.
We had a great time at Katkop Oord. The team are hospitable, and they went out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and safe and followed up on our inquiries immediately. For example, they bought a fan especially for us to help with the heat. They provided valuable information about attractions in the area. There is a lovely hiking trail on the resort, and the team supported us and made sure we were safe, and brought cold water while we hiked the trail. The team's directions to Katkop Oord were clear and helped a lot. Katkop Resort gets 10 out of 10 from us.
We enjoyed it very much.
We didn't know what to expect - it was the most pleasant surprise ever. The view is unbeatable. The facilities are great and tidy. We left full of peace and joy. Will definitely book again at Katkop Oord.
It was worth it. Value for money.
Incredibly beautiful, peaceful, clean and a scenic paradise.
Located in a beautiful farm setting with beautiful views and walking trails on the farm. Access is via dirt road which may be a problem for small, low cars.
Excellent location. Good amenities. Excellent value for money. Will definitely recommend.
Beautiful surroundings, walking trails, 4x4, excellent. Stay to view flowers. Camping facilities, self-catering accommodation for pocket money and more luxuries. Beautiful reception hall for weddings/functions.
It's very good value for money, the reception was very warm, great service and extremely spacious and comfortable.
Thank you very much Koos and Hettie van Zyl. We had a wonderful stay at your farm! Good luck with all your plans ahead, may the Lord bless you with everything you do.
The cottage was neat and clean with everything we needed. The surroundings and location of the cottages are very good.
Very comfortable, clean and neat. Magnificient views. Overnight stay. Wish we had more time to hike and explore. Once the resort is complete it would be a stunning place to go offload your worldly troubles and let nature heal your soul. Thank you Koos and Hettie for sharing your piece of heaven with us.
Very neat accommodation with everything in it for a comfortable holiday. The fact that there is no electricity is no obstacle.
Friendly people. Just a shame that the coordinates we got took us to the wrong place. It took us a while to get cell phone signal to call farm.
It is away from the mundane feeling and it is neatly furnished. Met our expectations.
Very much surprised at how beautiful it is there.
Very difficult to find the resort. No cell phone signal makes it impossible to find the place. The pin drop location doesn't work either. The dirt roads are in good condition. Beautiful, newly built chalets with old furniture and crockery. No towels. Planted alien plants are disturbing in the beautiful environment.
Bad road to resort, far from flowers. Ideal for ECO tourism.
