Kaya-Inkuni lies between Rustenburg and Swartruggens approximately 3km from the N4. Just at the turn off the N4 towards the lodge, there is a garage, restaurant, liquor store and shop if you need snacks or drinks. The dirt road up to the gate is rutted during rain and full of potholes, but there are enough drivable sections that a normal sedan can drive there. This does not mean that the road always looks like this, but only how we experienced it. From the gate to the lodge itself, the road is well maintained and easy to ride. The lodge is nestled between mountains that surround it and lovely plants and trees. The facilities are excellent and everything except swimming towels are provided, but I'm sure Laetitia, the hostess, will also make a plan for that with her eye for detail and how she can make guests comfortable. Upon our arrival, she received us kindly and graciously and simply upgraded us to the honeymoon suite. This is a lovely self-catering unit with a shower and bath which we were very grateful for after a long walk that crossed the farm on a lovely marked trail and just all the way up the mountain to the lookout point on clear paths. Laetitia's on-site spa was a lovely relaxing oasis where she massaged the aching muscles very professionally. The load shedding is just something we all live with, but if desired, Peet will turn on the generator for a very reasonable amount. We ourselves used the darkness to light a fire and barbecue and hang out and read. We do recommend that guests bring flashlights and lights for when load shedding occurs, but otherwise the lodge is brightly lit. The WiFi ensures that one can stay in touch with the world if one wants to. The lapa, swimming pool and other shared facilities are beautiful, comfortable (one can see that planning has been done with an overview of how to meet guests' needs), neat and the roosters and ducks that came to have breakfast by the pond with a spuitfontein as a background, contributes to the peaceful atmosphere at this unique place to visit within 2 hours from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and nice conversation, but also the space you created where we could just breathe again. We are happy to recommend Kaya-Inkuni and hope to fit in another visit soon.

My wife and I needed a break just to recharge our batteries and Rustenzicht was the ideal place. From our arrival to our departure we were happy with the service provided by Odette and the team. We were informed by phone regarding our reservation ahead of time as well as on the day of our arrival, and early on they informed us that the air conditioner was giving problems that was in our room and that the technician was already there to fix the problem sort. When we got there, it was fine and the room was nice and cold. We will book again in the wooden houses with the forest kitchen that is at your disposal. Two of the three cottages have their own braai area which makes it more convenient. I think that there are plans to build the third wooden house also its own braai area which will be awesome. The route behind the house also just needs to be cleared so that an SUV vehicle can park next to the house, and then maybe it should be looked at to put a small bar fridge in each wooden house. I think there is enough space in the cottages for that.
We spent three nights at the Nsimbi private cottage. It was well equipped for our family of five. Please install WiFi in that unit, and then it will be perfect.
The area was very quiet and the rooms are very nice. We didn't see much of the facility as we checked in late and left early. The side we stayed and saw was very lovely!
Beautiful scenery. Very relaxing. Felt safe - we had Tyson looking after us, so we felt at home and very safe.
Unfortunately with all the load shedding it was unpleasant especially when small children are part of the break and in terms of hot water, cooking facilities etc. - the facility of a generator was indeed made available at R150 per hour? I just feel that this amenity should be provided at no cost as the holidaymaker pays in full for the accommodation whether load shedding or not. Hunters Rest needs some renovation especially in the kitchen and with the gas facilities.
Nice peaceful place to relax, the host was amazing, but the other lady running the place was not hospitable at all.
From before we even got there we felt welcome. When we got there we were taken aback with how absolutely beautiful the lodge is, then got greeted with almost the sense of 'welcome home'. And to put the cherry on top we needed to leave long before the crack of dawn and when they usually open their security gates, they accommodated us with a smile. Thank you Kaya-Inkuni, we will definitely not forget our stay even though it was short it was truly memorable.

Kaya-Inkuni is a beautiful breakaway spot for longer stays or overnight stays. We can recommend it with ease. The service is exceptionally friendly and the staff were always available and willing to help. We had breakfast and dinner there and it was very nice. Kaya-Inkuni's management is top-quality.
Really stunning stay!
It was a pleasure. The owners make you feel very welcome. One complaint: the toilet takes long to fill up after flushing. The lighting in the bush camp can also be improved. The gate struggles to open and close. Despite the few small complaints, it was still a wonderful weekend and I will stay there again.
Peet and all the other staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Unbelievably beautiful accommodation, visiting area in the bushveld. I would definitely recommend Kaya-Inkuni to any person or family.
From arrival to departure we had one amazing experience. The hosts Letitia and Peet are the most amazing people and we loved the way that they treated us. The atmosphere is complete bliss and peaceful and the accommodation was very comfortable. We were spoilt with dinner on the hill, watching the sun set and what an unforgettable evening this was. I have no complaints whatsoever and will definitely be visiting again.

A beautiful and neat place. However, the road is very bad because floods. Very safe. Great reception and welcome. Delicious 3 course meal on top of the mountain. Very exciting. Would definitely recommend! Didn't spot any wildlife though.

The room we got was perfect for a group of 5 girls. We all slept in the same lodge, and had access to so many of their facilities. The staff were extremely helpful.
Very friendly service. I love the entertainment area and the braai area, nice to hang out with friends and family.
The rooms were pleasant. Unfortunately we booked the main house and the braai area because we were a big family all together and on arrival they put us in the other chalets with an outside kitchen without a sink. The braai area was also black and wet ground which was very inconvenient as we had small children who crawled in it. At the back of our units they worked meat and the smell of stomach contents hung around our braai fire the whole weekend. There is also not a Jacuzzi anymore. Otherwise it is a very nice place, just sad that we did not stay in the place I specifically requested with my booking. The places were also cleaned every day and the dishes washed. We will go again.
