266 guests' feedbackIt was splendid. Will definitely go again, just in summer next time.
Very nice place, clean and tidy. Will definitely go again.
This was an extraordinary stay.
Stay was excellent. Clean, tidy and fully equipped. Just unfortunately no wildlife seen.
It was a very pleasant stay. Had a nice stay.

Excellent accommodation with the best facilities. Nothing was missing, from firewood to lighters, from spices to dish soap, from cell phone chargers to an umbrella, everything was there. We stayed like kings and rested wonderfully. The bedding is of good quality with cuddly blankets. We received all the road modifications, inventory and use of the hot tub ahead of time and that helped a lot. Less than an hour's drive from Pretoria and it's wonderfully quiet there. We would recommend the accommodation anytime!
Absolutely great place for a nice getaway.
Ideal getaway in nature, but with the necessary luxury. Absolutely worth it. Everything was neat and clean. The hot tub was the highlight. Thanks for allowing us to check out even later in the afternoon. Very private. Quiet and peaceful with only the bird and animal sounds. Very private. Thank you, see you again.
We had a wonderful stay. Everything you need to relax and unwind. Everything was neat and clean.
We were pleasantly surprised with the luxury unit and had a great time relaxing in the wood fired hot tub in nature. The bed and bedding are of high quality in the well laid out unit. We thoroughly enjoyed the time and will definitely want to visit Kohandè Glamping again. Thank you!
We had a great time relaxing. The bed and bedding were top quality. The hostess herself was kind enough to lend me a swimsuit as I forgot mine at home.
Fantastic rest for the soul accommodation.
Very nice stay, little to do and far to drive to places, but very quiet and peaceful.
Good place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and noise.
Very beautiful, peaceful and quiet. What was a negative point was that on the second day the bath was not cleaned like on our last time there. There were mosquito larvae in the bath and so we could only enjoy the bath on Friday.
It was very nice when the problem of a double booking was sorted out only after my wife and I had finished in the hot tub.
Nice close to Pretoria, good value for money.
The website shows that there are animals to look at, we didn't see a single animal the whole weekend. Every night the dogs bark so much that you almost can't sleep. The zips on the tents are broken so we couldn't close the tents properly. No person welcomed us or even came to see if everything was okay.
It was delicious. I wish I could stay longer.
It was an incredibly nice experience.
Really enjoyed our time there.
The tent is of high quality, extremely neat and spacious, with a comfortable bed and a beautiful bathroom. A well-equipped kitchen offers an idyllic view of the surrounding forest. It included everything - a microwave oven, a large fridge and a full set of crockery to make our stay experience memorable. The icing on the cake was the "hot tub," a true paradise to relax in. As I sat there with a cooling drink in hand, it was the perfect way to pass the time. The sunrise was a breathtaking spectacle over the horizon, and the privacy of the tents allowed us to light a lovely fire in our own boma while listening to the sounds of the night. There is also a beautiful swimming pool a short distance away if you want to cool off. This destination is ideal for those who want to enjoy peace, quiet and the splendor of the woodland. It is a place where you can unwind, organize your thoughts and find inner peace again. Thank you so much for an amazing experience - it truly was the best getaway ever!
Thanks so much for a super stay. Clean, well-equipped glamping. Highly recommended!
We will visit Kohandè Glamping again soon! The jacuzzi's water was already hot when we got there and the area was very tidy and clean. The birds that sing are a treat for one's soul and make one feel that one escapes from the busy city.
We spent a lovely weekend at Kohandè. It was the perfect place to just be still. The kitchen and braai area were well equipped and we were perfectly warm even though it was a very cold weekend. The hot tub was such a nice feature and we'd love to find an excuse to go back for a couple more days!
Very peaceful with a friendly hostess. She simply surprised us with some delicious cupcakes. I would definitely recommend it for a romantic getaway.
What a wonderful place. The only noise one hears are animal noises. Fantastic to listen to all the animal and bird life all day. The Kol-Kol hot tub was the bonus. I don't think we've ever been this "bad" in our lives. You will definitely see us again.
We found this an excellent stay, quiet, close to the city and private. We stay/ed in a lot of places through the past years and this one comes close to being the best. The kitchen was supplied with all the needed utensils, the bedding was of good quality and sufficient for all types of weather. We loved the hot tub on the patio which we think is a winner. Didn't see any animals though but that will not deter us from booking again.
All the facilities one needs are available. Quiet environment.
Everything we expected. Clean, relaxing, great location close to Johannesburg. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Hot tub was a bonus. Got all the essentials. Would definitely go back. Thank you for the great weekend.
It would be better if one could buy wood and ice there and not need to take it with them. It takes up unnecessary packing space. A shaded parking space for a car would also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you Desiree. We enjoyed it very much. See you again soon.
Wow. What a nice place to spend the long weekend. The cottage is fantastically furnished and the fire bath is just a feast. We saw wildlife here and there and the owner's friendly dogs soon welcomed us.
Private setting is beautiful.
Luxurious and well equipped.
It is located not too far from civilization, but far enough that you feel you are in the bush. The facilities are well maintained and provide the necessary for travelers.
Enjoyed our stay very much.
Very nice place. Restful. Friendly owner.
There was limited phone signal so it was a lovely time being disconnected. The owner was very accommodating and helpful, getting us settled for the weekend. Even though it was one of the coldest weekends, the hot tub and bonfire kept us warm. It was a lovely stay and so conveniently located for a weekend breakaway.
It was a wonderful weekend. We never had much sunshine, but it was a great getaway. Top-rated accommodation to connect with your partner. Little extras like games, cellphone cables and wood for the hot tub.
The place was very nice and clean. It was very private.
The location of Johannesburg is very good. Also well hidden in the bush.
Nice clean and tidy and comfortable.
The accommodation is neat, clean and comfortable. The wood-fired hot tub is a unique experience that must be experienced.
Clean and comfy and owners are very welcoming.
Some of the self-catering items you expect in units were not available at all. But we still enjoyed it.
We just loved the hot tub. We watched the day break and the sun set from the hot tub. Impala passing through. Best relaxation ever. Extremely comfortable sleeping accommodation and kitchen. Out first glamping experience and that will be our new thing from now on.
Accommodation was excellent, private and very peaceful.
Would recommend this accommodation to anyone who appreciates nature and silence. A definite must visit. Many thanks to Desire, we'll see you again.
Desire is a very friendly host and very helpful. The WhatsApp she sent on what to expect at the venue and the location direction was helpful. Thank you Kohande!
Well equipped. Beautiful!
The accommodation is neat and clean in a safe and peaceful environment. Very nice swimming pool overlooking the valley. The accommodation and braai area are beautifully and practically laid out and everything you need to enjoy a weekend or longer is there. Definitely a place where you can recharge your soul with the most beautiful nature all around you.
Equipment is modern and in good condition. Very neat and clean, well laid out.
In just under an hour's drive from Pretoria lies the beautiful hidden gem called Kohandè. A short part of the journey to the tent is on a dirt road that our small hatchback could handle with ease. You are greeted by a friendly guard and as you journey through are transported to a pristine bush environment. In stark contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city, the silence and sounds of insects become the soundtrack to your stay. The Ferox tent is perched at an ideal angle to view the animals (zebra and impala) frequenting the watering hole and catch the stunning sunsets from the comfort of the wood-fired hot tub. The host has ensured that all the necessary amenities are available and even welcomed us with freshly baked goodies and farm-fresh organic eggs. It did get chilly at night (visited in late April) however the hot tub and electric blanket kept us cozy. The Ferox tent was quite sizable and well laid out. The host paid great attention to detail and we felt most welcome. Looking forward to visiting this gem again in the warmer months to ensure we get to use the pool. P. S. there is a friendly dog who loves the tents and is pretty good company.
The tents are very well furnished and the Bosveld is just what one needs to really recharge. We really enjoyed it and would happily recommend it. Many thanks to Desiré for all her effort.
We had a great time and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing weekend away. Well equipped with everything needed.
The tents are spacious, neatly laid out and very clean. Everything you need is provided. The view from the swimming pool over the valley is breathtaking and makes you feel like you are hours out of the city, even though it is only 30 minutes from Pretoria. At night you hear foxes and animals. We were even lucky to hear lions one night. If you are looking for privacy and tranquility this is just the place for you. Thank you very much Desire for your hospitality, we will visit again.
See stars.
Was able to cool off in the pool, with a lovely view. Als was clean and tidy. Excellent directions to get there. Good value for money!
Very well located. Close to PTA. Very clean and tidy and well furnished.
Very neat and fully equipped. It's so private and serene with incredible views. Definitely going back and recommending it to friends.
I would recommend anyone who needs a break away to Kohandè. We enjoyed the tranquility so much along with the privacy. Will break away there again soon.
The tents are very comfortable and very well equipped. Very private.
Was so wonderfully beautiful and quiet in nature, away from all noise. The tent really had everything in it, from kitchen to bathroom. Desire has brought in a lot of fine detail, beautiful decorations everywhere. The Hot tub was lovely. Definitely worth every penny. We can recommend it.
Desire very friendly. Our place of stay was very clean and tidy. Well furnished and equipped. A wonderful week of peace and quiet with calls of foxes in the evening and busy birdlife in the day.
Exactly what we lacked, just to get away from the hustle and bustle of life and just go back to nature, tranquility and fresh air.
Very friendly security guard who opened the tree holes for us. Tent was equipped with everything we needed. We had a wonderful rest and would definitely recommend it for a very peaceful weekend away.
Well-equipped facilities, including the braai area. Friendly reception. Close enough to the city for a quick getaway and also far enough to experience the bushveld feeling.
We loved our stay. The accommodation is adequate and very tastefully decorated with everything one needs at hand.
The place is equipped with the necessary, it's very neat and it's really worth it for the person who loves nature.
Very neat unit, good service and good location.
Extremely good hospitality that we have not received anywhere else. The silence was blissful without any noise that one usually hears. Pleasant experience. Was just the thing we needed to get rid of everyday stress and it was almost on our doorstep. Hour's drive.
It was wonderfully peaceful, and very relaxed. Was able to really spend quality time with my husband. Was clean, tidy and very romantic.
My only gripe would be that the cellphone coverage was not working which was a problem due to my family needing to know if I had arrived and if I was safe. Due to this, I had to travel a short distance every day to go to the OK bazaars parking area to communicate with them. I would however recommend this as a good place to go and relax.
This was our first time doing Glamping. Kohandè was well equipped. The owner thought of everything. The jacuzzi was an added bonus. It was dead quiet and it was welcomed because we are always busy. We were able to relax in spite of loadshedding. The pool was silver clean. What we do think is necessary are goats, zebras etc. The tent is sturdy and all the accessories are also in good condition.
The power point by the bed doesn't work, the light by the stairs doesn't work, the down light by the kitchen doesn't work, the outside faucet has dirty water, I had to throw away my whole pot over the green water in the faucet, people camp way too close to each other, no privacy not. Also asked on Saturday night what time we check out on Sunday, not nice. But anyway.
We really enjoyed the weekend. The hostess was very accommodating to my husband with his meeting on Friday afternoon. The tents are well furnished and clean. The only thing is if it rains you can't barbecue and there are only 2 gas plates under the roof. Other than that, it's lovely in the woods.
So close to Pretoria, and yet it feels like you're far away from everything. Well appointed and friendly service. Perfect getaway.
The hostess is very friendly and helpful, the unit is neat and clean and the kitchen has everything you need. i would recommend it. All that bothered me a bit was loud music on a Saturday afternoon.
What a beautiful stay! The accommodation was clean and we had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway for our anniversary. While swimming in the pool with an amazing view - we felt like we were on a luxury holiday in the bush. Definitely enjoyed our stay and hope to be back soon!
Dit is baie netjies en 'n great, rustige omgewing met alles wat jy nodig het. Sal definitief weer gaan.
Quick getaway located nearby. Als was clean and tidy. All that one needs. Very affordable price. We were at Tent 3 at the waterhole. Saw zebras and impalas. In the evening you hear the owls and foxes and a large variety of birds.
Very pleasant tent accommodation. Will go again. Thank you very much.
The beautiful, neat and spacious tents were a lovely surprise. We were invigorated by the natural beauty, robin lambs and bird sounds during the day and night sounds with owls, frogs and fox howls and even a few lion roars at night. A wonderful getaway!
Plekkie is very nice, but dogs that bark continuously throughout the evening and staff that were busy with "chainsaw" early in the morning spoiled the tranquility.
Perfect for a weekend out of the city!
I'll see them again December!
Very well appointed tent in peaceful woodland, beautiful sunrise, very private and lovely break away from the city.
Everything was perfect. Just what one needs for a quick getaway.
Kohande is a very tranquil area and I would definitely recommend it if you need to reset and enjoy the peace and quiet of the bushveld. We saw zebra up close and heard the jackals every evening as well as the occasional roar of a lion in the distance. The birdlife is also in abundance and adds to the relaxing atmosphere.
Good location, neat and quiet. Now and then you hear dogs barking and we heard some music on Saturday night - but nothing too serious. Would still recommend.
We had a great time staying at Kohande. The place has everything you need and everything is comfortable and convenient. Nice place to walk around with a beautiful pool. Will definitely stay there again.
An absolutely amazing place, super comfortable luxury tent accommodation. It feels more like you are in a Chalet. Everything you can need, very private. Super friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely be back!
Very neat and clean!
Its the perfect destination to relax and unwind, and perfect to spend some well deserved time with your partner or family.
Very clean, quiet and peaceful.
Kohandè is a very nice place for a quiet and peaceful getaway in the forest. The stoepie and braai area are very comfortable and we spent hours by the pool. Was lovely and will go again.
It's a nice break, especially if you want to rest. The silence is blissful. The beautiful scenery awesome. The tent is well equipped with everything you might need. It was also nice and private. We really enjoyed it and will definitely go again. We were surprised to hear the lions roar every night! Awesome weekend!
Remember you're in the bush. Lack of reception and signal is part of the experience. So breathtaking. Tranquil. Peaceful beyond words. Time to get completely grounded with family!
Great place to break away. Will definitely go again.
Just need a little more wildlife to look at.
Very nice peaceful atmosphere and break away from the busy city.
Dirk has a beautiful place for a family getaway, all of the accommodation is spotless, lovely braai area, the kitchenette has everything that you need, on suite bathrooms in each tent are beautiful.
We enjoyed our visit very much. The tents are very well equipped, tidy and the owner Uncle Dirk is extremely friendly and welcoming. We will definitely return again.
If you looking for a peaceful getaway in the bush, look no further. Despite being close to Pretoria, you feel like you are far away from the city at Kophande. We sat on our stoep, separate from other guests and could just admit the bush.
Definitely something for your bucket list, a weekend was too short.
Nice to be woken up at night by the cries of foxes and lions.
It's the perfect place for a peaceful getaway, I haven't experienced such silence in a long time. The places have a practical layout and are very neat.
The layout is very well done and nicely rounded off. The kitchen is practical with everything you need. The owner was very friendly, even though we arrived a little late. The spots are very private and you don't even know there are any more on the resort.
If you are looking for a quiet, private getaway, Kohandé is just the place for you!
Accommodation is neat and clean. Well equipped accommodation.
Very neat accommodation with lots of space. Safe. Pool was pretty clean. We would definitely go again, but for longer than a weekend.
Was nice peaceful and no children and or loud music. In the bush! Cellphone signals were poor. Problem if you want to work on internet or communicate with others.
Very friendly reception. Well located and very close to Dinokeng for day visits. Peaceful forest environment if you want to switch off from the city's hustle and bustle. Sufficient hot water available.
Was a nice quiet weekend. Take a breather in the peaceful Bosveld. Looking forward to the next visit.
We had a lovely stay, everything you need is there in the accommodation. Will go again.
Lovely, peaceful and safe getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It was a nice experience.
It was so nice. Very nice please. So quiet and in the woods.
Beautiful, luxury tent camp, barely 50 km from Pretoria. Kitchen very well equipped. Tent, furniture, equipment, shower, etc. very neat, clean and in good condition. Ideal place to recharge batteries, in nature and wildlife.
The tent accommodation was beautiful, clean and the kitchen fully equipped. Uncle Dirk was very friendly and helpful and was waiting for us on arrival. We just needed a weekend to break away from the mad rush of the city and Kohandè met all the requirements. It is dead quiet and peaceful, the pool is sparkling blue with an incredible view. We will definitely visit again.
The tents are very neat and spacious, with everything you need. The tents are far from each other, so there is a lot of privacy and you can enjoy the silence of the nature around you. The dirt road to sunto is very good, and you can get there with any car. Would definitely go again and recommend!
Unforgettable, incredible weekend away in the most beautiful greenest and most peaceful resort. Very, very neat and many animals. Bird lovers will also enjoy. Being able to see the Woodlands Kingfisher was also a personal highlight. Thank you very much!
All as they said it would be. Excellent - super place to unwind. It was nice to be able to walk around and look at the small stuff and listen to frogs and nightjars at night.
One cannot ask for better. The tranquility of nature is an experience!
Excellent setup, perfect for a weekend away.
Well equipped tent situated in a haven of absolute stillness and peace. Hearing only the sounds of animals calling at night, a bit a thunder, soft rain falling, bliss! We have stayed here at four different times already and love it just as much as the first time and will do so again.
It was a lovely experience. All that fantastic!
We booked Kohandé as a birthday present for my dad, who loves woods and camping. Kohandé met my requirements for both of the above with the bonus of not having to set up camp myself (not on a birthday). The break was wonderful for my parents, well equipped with everything you need to take care of yourself and just relax. Thank you very much for your hospitality.
Our stay was very peaceful, very friendly people and well organised. I will definitely go back.
Very friendly people.
Uncle Dirk's hospitality immediately made us feel welcome. We could not have chosen a better place to rest. Kohande has everything you need to get away from the busy city life. The tents are excellently furnished and you don't need anything more. The units were very tidy and everything was in its place. The tranquility of nature was an experience. Kohande will definitely see me again.
It was lovely. We enjoyed the accommodation and will return soon.
We stayed in two tents for the weekend. The tents are well kitted out with everything that is needed to have a comfy stay in the bush. The swimming pool was sparkling. Tents are nicely spaced for privacy and not too far to walk to share an evening braai with friends. Dirk was very helpful and friendly. We will return for a nice getaway from the city!
We really enjoyed our weekend at Kohandé. The scenery was beautiful, the silence blissful - truly idyllic. However, there were a few twists. It rained terribly that one night and when we went to look for the advertised lapa on the grounds to braai under cover, it had already burnt down some time back to our disappointment. Uniformity is lacking between the units. We went with friends; their tent flaps have been upgraded where we had to struggle in the middle of the night with tent flaps that had bits of velcro torn off in places - not exactly the 'luxury safari tent' experience that one had in mind. We also had a new kitchen sponge while theirs was old and used up. More attention can be paid to the condition of the kitchen utensils, i.e. whether pans are clean, and lids are cracked, before guests arrive. A light above the toilet and sink would also be useful. The other evening's visit around our private boma was very convivial, and the walking trails, bird watching and wildlife on the grounds provided hours of enjoyment. We would like to return again, when the weather is more pleasant.
We spent a week in Ferox tent. The accommodation was relatively clean and tidy. The surroundings are superb although we saw very little wild life. We were disappointed that there was no microwave and no toaster. We found the cooking utensils inadequate, one small pan and a small pot. Making an ordinary breakfast of fried eggs, bacon, mushrooms and toast tests your cooking skills. Definitely not a 3 star establishment. The rate is the lowest we have come across, but you get what you pay for. We will visit again but then will take our own cooking utensils with.
See stars.
If you just want to be quiet and do nothing, this is the place to be.
Bushveld silence. Conveniently close to Pretoria. Basic amenities available for weekend getaways. Extra grill would have been a plus along with a bonfire and not combined. No mirror near power points. Otherwise it was a peaceful, quiet weekend that we did enjoy.
The accommodation was exactly as advertised. Neat, practical and comfortable. It was absolute silence and rest. Sat on the porch with coffee at five o'clock on Sunday morning and listened to lions, who had already been busy since half past four in the morning. Hanging out around the fire at night was bliss for the soul. We would recommend it anytime. Thank you very much Dirk and Kobus for your kindness.
It is the ideal place to recharge batteries and just take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We rested well and had a nice stay. Als was perfect. The owner is very friendly and hospitable. We will go there again.
This is my second visit and will definitely go again. Very close to Pretoria for a short getaway. Beautiful surroundings of the bush, birds and animals. Enjoyed some lovely short walks.
Real gem in hustle of daily life.
Wonderful getaway in total silence and peace and quiet. Painfully neat and clean. Would love to go again.
Driving just 30 km from Pretoria to stay in the luxury camp is wonderful. Hospitable and very neat and very quiet.
Best way to spend your time in the bush with the luxuries of everything you need and a great room. Everything was clean and attractive. Great walking trails, lovely swimming pool and braai areas. Worth checking out the water hole from time to time. Lots of animal viewing and bird life. So close to Pretoria yet so hidden and peaceful. You can hear the lions roaring early morning and jackals at night. Thanks Dirk and team. We will be back.
Dit was fantasies. Dit was stil en rustig.
See stars.
We had a wonderful weekend. It was so quiet and peaceful, just what we needed to be refreshed. We will definitely return, and we would recommend Kohandè to friends and family. It is located close enough to Dinokeng to spend a day in the game park.
Very pleasant place with friendly owners. Was neat, clean and very beautiful! Thank you.
We prefer to stay in tents when we have a weekend getaway. You hear the night sounds so much clearer. We were already at many tent camps, but have never stayed in such neat, clean tents. We were warmly welcomed and the whole set-up of the facilities was explained in detail. Kohandé is a hit. It's clean, it's quiet, it's beautiful. Here you recharge your batteries
Good experience, got enough rest. The view was great and the people were very helpful and friendly. It was wonderful to get there and have everything in order.
Tent was beautifully clean and fully equipped. Uncle Dirk was very friendly and helpful. We just needed a weekend to break away from the mad rush of the city and Kohande met all the requirements. It is dead quiet and peaceful, the pool is sparkling blue with an incredible view. We will definitely visit again.
Friendly service. We had an awesome time, and would like to thank Kohandè for the weekend that did wonders for us as a couple. We will definitely see you again.
Very nice stay will definitely go again.
Fantasies. Everything you need in a compact tent. Make use of surrounding area for entertainment, i.e. Dinokeng. There is your private braai area and swimming pool. Friendly service and very helpful. Tent is warm enough for winter months with blankets provided. Lions roar from 4 o'clock in the morning even before the chicken crows.
Kohandé's tent accommodation is very neat and well furnished with everything you need. The partition between the sleeping area and bathroom/toilet is quite clever. Apart from the tranquility, with foxes calling at night and birds chirping in the morning, you should not expect other activities. We also made time to photograph insects. What stood out is that Kobus waited for us to show us where what was, and Dirk saw us off again. Thank you for your interest.
The scenery was awesome. The silence was just what we needed.
Accommodation and facilities are very good. There were dogs barking all night. When asked about the dogs, it was said that it does not help to complain, it is the owners' dogs that breed with them. This was upsetting to me as the resort has a strict no dogs policy. There were two of the dogs in our tent.
We will definitely book here again. Amazing service by the father and son who followed up throughout booking and during visit. Was impressed with everything possible available in the kitchen area, clean and nothing lacking. It's so nicely decorated and the fact that there is privacy also at the pool was incredibly special. Friendly and close and not too expensive.
Absolutely neat and luxurious tent homes. Very close to JHB and Pretoria and surrounding areas and easily accessible. Absolute bliss in the forest, and one can really relax and forget about everything.
Although short, the 2 day break was incredibly refreshing. The tent is so neat and fully equipped you don't need anything. The view is very beautiful and the silence a great treat.
It was an incredible, calming experience. Quiet and peaceful. Clean, neat and luxurious. It gives you the feeling that you are sleeping on your bed right in the forest. Very nice that there are so few neighbors.
Kohandè was a perfect getaway for me and my husband who just want to get out of the hectic city. The sounds of the jackals and lions in the evenings are just beautiful. The owners are friendly and will go out of their way for comfort. Wonderful getaway. Kohandè you will see us again!
Having a great time and resting in nature, it feels like you are very far from any city or town. The pool was lovely to cool off in and has a stunning view.
It is very neat and well appointed accommodation with everything you need. It is quiet and peaceful, you cannot see or hear your neighbors and the forest offers the perfect escape.
We enjoyed it very much, friendly and pleasant service from staff/owner. The silence was "deafening", just what you need to relax and charge your batteries. We walked a lot and just sat on our verandha and relaxed. The pool is maintained very well and it was nice to cool down. The braai is well maintained. We would definitely like to make use of this place in the future. Thank you very much. Keep on the good work.
Clean. Well appointed. Beautiful scenery.
For anyone looking to get away from the city, this is the place to go to recharge batteries. Everyone is very friendly and the place is nice and clean. Will want to go there again.
Kohandé is a well-appointed, relaxing getaway. Everything one could possibly need is under one roof. The accommodation is beautifully clean and there is a tranquility that nourishes one's soul. It was truly a pleasant experience and I can recommend Kohandé.
We heard lions and jackals every night. It's quiet, beautiful and peaceful and definitely the place to recharge your batteries. Dirk is extremely friendly and he made us feel very welcome. We will be back for sure!
Wonderful weekend away. Quiet, serene and stars. If you want a bush experience not too far from home, this is the place to go and unwind for the weekend. Close to Dinokeng Reserve.
It was exactly what we needed to escape. Kohandè is 30 km from my home, and yet it still felt totally removed from the busy city. The owner gave us a friendly welcome and explained everything we needed to know. It is cleaner than some hospitals and had everything we needed was already there. It was a great weekend. Will definitely go again!
It is a nice place to stay, beautiful surroundings, well equipped tent. This is camping in luxury. The owner very pleasant and friendly. The gate guard is very friendly and speaks Afrikaans! What a surprise.
Certainly the most beautiful, cleanest safari tent I have ever stayed in. At Kohandé it's just you and the incredible peace and quiet of the forest. Will definitely organize a weekend again.
One day at Kohandè feels like five.
It is very relaxing and tidy, even the wait at the gate, Lukas greets you with the biggest smile when you come back from the shops or just going. Very welcoming. It is definitely a place just to go and rest! Will definitely visit again!
Kohande exceeded all expectations! Good location, easy to find, friendly people and the tranquility that only a woodland break can offer. The swimming pool offers great fun on the hot summer days. It's quiet, and peaceful. The tents are clean and tidy and the kitchen has everything you will need. Would definitely recommend Kohande.
See stars.
My stay at Kohandè was extremely pleasant. Beautiful surroundings and comfortable tent. I will definitely visit there again!
Very few animals in the area of the tents.
Kohandè is truly an experience for the soul. It's so peaceful and you can really relax and switch off. Heard lions and jackals every night. Would definitely recommend Kohandè for a getaway to just recharge the batteries. Tents are very clean, tidy and comfortable. Will definitely visit there again.
Friendly, hospitable reception, tranquility and peace. Neat and clean. Will definitely go there again.
We really enjoyed it at Kohande. The tents are very neat and the surroundings very beautiful.
Warm welcome, friendly owner, very accommodating, everything needed provided. More light in the bathroom area would have helped a bit. Stayed in No. 1. Expect more animals in the area, the reason is believed to be drought.
Wonderfully quiet during the day with only the birds in the background and the crackling of the fire in the evening. The layout is nice and private and the accommodation well equipped. Clean and tidy and everything works, definitely worth a follow up visit!
Was very kindly received. All the rules etc were well explained. The stay itself was very nice. All that was promised was there. Very nice stay.
The right place to recharge batteries.
It's ideal for a quick weekend away. The layout is great and clean and allowes for sleeping in the bush not far from the house.
What an incredible weekend. We saw an incredible amount of wildlife during our walking sessions and were fortunate to have rain in the evenings. The facilities are more than adequate and the layout fits well with everything. We can't wait to go back. We just want to ask that the kitchen facilities be upgraded to more durable knives and forks (especially for cutting and peeling something with), as it is self-catering. But what is there was sufficient.
Great break from the city. Quiet and peaceful. Will definitely go again.
We loved it, so beautiful and peaceful. Oom Dirk is very friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed, beautiful wildlife and surroundings.
From our booking to our departure, the service from Kohandè was simply amazing! Our booking, all communication, the accommodation, comfort, cleanliness and uniqueness were indescribable. Upon our arrival, Dirk Botes warmly welcomed us and showed us the ropes. The unit was fully equipped and there was everything needed - down to enough blankets against the unexpected cold. Kohandè was like that in our kraal: romantic, luxurious, peaceful and nature almost inside your tent. We could even hear the lions roaring far away in Dinokeng on Sunday evening! We had a wonderful rest and were able to recharge our batteries in peace and comfort. Keep up the good work, Dirk - and thank you very much for your hospitality and the opportunity we were able to have to visit this gem of a place. It was truly a dream weekend!
Uncle Dirk made us feel at home with the kick-in, and explained everything nicely. Very pleasant place with a nice peaceful forest atmosphere. Everything one needs is at your disposal. Cute setup. Very close to Dinokeng's Self Drive Route entrance gate, for those who want to drive themselves and see the Big 5 plus other wildlife and birds. Thank you very much.
Uncle Dirk and team, thank you very much for this little piece of heaven on earth. We were warmly welcomed and everything was explained to us nicely. The accommodation is beautifully clean and very tidy. Uncle Dirk they really think of everything one will need and what struck me is that there are neat, clean and new washing-up supplies, even washing-up soap. Something I forgot. Here we could really rest our souls and recharge our batteries. You will definitely see us again.
We enjoyed our stay at Kohande very much. There was no city noises or unrest. The owner made us feel welcome. The place was clean. It is the perfect place if you want to break away for a weekend/long weekend and you don't need to travel far (45 min from Pretoria)
Beautiful place, if you just want to rest and enjoy the surroundings, then this is just the right place. Everything is so well looked after, they really make a lot of effort to make your time as comfortable as possible.
Uncle Dirk was very friendly. Tents were nice and clean. Will definitely recommend it.
We had a great time. Tent is very neat and clean. We would go back again anytime.
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend at Kohande. Thanks to Uncle Dirk who greeted us in such a friendly manner and immediately made us feel at home. Everything was so clean, so neat and so comfortable. Hope we can come visit again soon.
'n Lovely, quiet place in the forest. We enjoyed our stay in the well equipped tents thoroughly and will recommend it to any nature lover.
See stars.
Can recommend, nice and quiet.
My wife and I stayed for two nights. Very neat and clean. Very tranquil. Will definitely return in the future. Really cannot complain about anything.
We enjoyed the stay very much. Well equipped accommodation. Recommended.
What a wonderful weekend away and an unbelievable experience. Just a pity there weren't any game drives available. Should be possible to view Dinokeng's game.
Very nice and neat. Only problem was the rain resulted in us not being able to braai or even sit outside because the rain caused the kitchen/dining room area to flood and was cold and wet.
Very nice place, would definitely recommend it for a peaceful getaway close to Johannesburg and Pretoria.
The stay was relaxing and pleasant indeed. The accommodation is typical of an African safari style and was comfortable, neat and clean. The swimming pool has a splendid view and is very well maintained. The short distance to Pretoria is an added bonus!
Would like to make the following suggestions: Make Boma's floor more level, maybe build a fire pit at the barbecue. especially for winter evenings, maybe cover two windows of tents with plastic (if the weather is not nice, one can close window, but natural light can still enter).
The tent was neat and clean and the kitchen was well equipped. However, it does not reach the standards of a luxury tent, the bedding was old-fashioned, the bed was "hollow" in the middle, so we ended up rolling towards the centre each night and there was no form of ventilation in the tent, the "windows" did not help and there was no fan or aircon. It was unbearably hot. Also, no game was seen on Kohandè itself.
I expected more. E.g. At least there could have been braai wood and maybe swimming pools. A good idea would be to have a canopy of some kind by the pool. The sink's cold faucet did not work and the water in the shower was difficult to regulate in terms of temperature of the water. I have now given a lot of negative feedback, sorry but they will have to fix it. Still very good potential there.
It's a nice break, especially if you want to rest. It was pretty clean, neat and peaceful. We would recommend it to anyone and we will certainly visit Kohande again. It is value for money for sure.
The tents are very clean and comfy. Has everything you need. Will definitely be back.
Unbelievably neat and clean. Oom Dirk is a very good host. Had a good rest, will definitely recommend it.
The directions to get there was really good. One of only few places where you get exactly what you paid for as seen on their pictures.
We arrived to a warm welcome and spotless accommodation. The first thing that strikes you is the quiet and the stunning nature (they got some rain the previous week which helped obviously). The furniture, and camping equipment is state of the art and the kitchen is well-equipped. It was also very privat and we weren't really aware of the guests in the other two tents. We really enjoyed it and we well definitely be back. Hearing the roar of the lions every day was such a treat.
Feel free to see the stars.
It is certainly one of the neatest and cleanest places we have ever stayed in for a weekend getaway. The scenery, the wildlife and the roar of the lions at night had us in raptures. It's definitely a place we will go to often. Uncle Dirk and his team are super hospitable and helpful. I recommend Kohande to anyone who wants to rest and just enjoy that silence with their people. Ten out of ten for Kohande and his people. Friendly greeting.
Everything was just perfect and in order. Will definitely go there again.
Very peaceful environment. With little to do it is ideal for a weekend of rest.
Clean, tidy, comfortable and affordable.
Really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to someone who wants to get away for the weekend and just relax. Everything in very good order and kitchen well equipped with good cutlery and equipment. Owner helpful and friendly. Pool super clean. Could do with umbrella and sunbeds?
Ideal for a great, safe, relaxing weekend.
Incredible tranquility and silence that forces you to switch off from the everyday mad rush. The tent was very well appointed and made it so much easier to relax and rest. The pool was a real treat in the heat and we made good use of it. Uncle Dirk is an excellent host who made us feel at home and took care of all our needs. Kohande we will definitely see you again!
We really enjoyed the incredible silence and tranquility. The walk was fun and interesting. Dirk is friendly and helpful. The camps are extremely well equipped and you don't need to take extras, so it was very convenient. The inside tent is beautiful and comfortable. 10 out of 10 for Kohande!
Kohande was awesome. This was our first visit and will definitely not be the last. Everything was just perfect. The place, the ambience, the tented accommodation, the cleanliness, the hospitality on arrival. Myself and my partner are in our 60s and it appealed to us that there were no under 18s permitted. This ensured a relaxing, quiet and trouble free weekend. We both have busy, hectic jobs and work long hours and want to relax in peace when we go away. We have recommended it to all our friends as a wonderful weekend get-away. What also appealed to us was that it was only 1 hour away from Kempton Park therefore eliminating a long journey to reach our destination. Thank you.
Very, very neat! We had a wonderful stay! Would really recommend it for a weekend away! Thank you very much Uncle Dirk, we had a great time!
Very neat, clean and quiet. Tents' location and construction is well thought out and it makes for hours of just sitting, enjoying the view, reading and relaxing.
Very private and good layout of space utilization. All that might still contribute to comfort might be a cabinet outside the kitchen area. Awesome place to just switch off and just wonder about when to light the fire. The private boma is just as nice.
Very peaceful environment and large tent. Very friendly owners.
I don't want to recommend Kohande because I'm afraid there are too many people! It's a fantastic place - quiet, very tidy, excellent service - just good for one's soul...
Kohande has 3 luxury permanent tents with braai facilities located in Leeuwfontein, about 20 km from Dinokeng's nature reserve. Als was very neat and clean. The pool was spotless and very refreshing to cool off in in the hot summer. It's nice and close so you can explore Dinokeng and the surrounding areas. Luxury permanent tent in the bushveld with a swimming pool overlooking the forest to cool off on hot summer days.
Ideal for a weekend getaway!
The tent is very neat, with all the "bells and whistles" to jump into your holiday. It's private and quiet, just right to rest your head. It's also very convenient for families, because there is a lot of space, and no wild animals that will endanger children. It is very clean and well maintained.
Very nice visit in the forest. Very well furnished and tidy. Sometimes it was a bit hot and the safety could be improved.
It was a very peaceful weekend in which we could relax and have a great barbecue in the well-equipped boma.
Great accommodation, great personal attention by Dirk and not much else to do than watch the impala and zebra walk by - perfect!
It was a new experience for us, we have never slept in this type of tent lodge. However, there were no problems, so we would do it again. We only needed amenities for our stay, and therefore unfortunately did not go hiking or looking for game.
Thanks for Uncle Dirk. The place is neat; I'm not a tent person and it proved to me, tent life sucks.
Very hospitable and a lovely place in the forest where you can completely switch off and just relax.
If you need a break, Kohande is the place to go. There you experience nature at its best, not to mention the "awesome" swimming pool. It's really a fantastic place!
Nice weekend break away, enjoyed the view and area, will definitely visit Kohande again in the future.
Incredibly peaceful and special weekend with personal care from Uncle Dirk - thank you very much! We'll be back! The tent is 100% clean and tidy and the kitchen perfectly equipped. The private boma makes the campfire experience just more special!
Very stylish "camp". Feels like tent life but with all the necessary amenities. Also close to Cullinan for a quick breakfast. Not too far from Pretoria. Would go again to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and for the blissful bushveld setting.
The accommodation is excellent. The layout of the place is fantastic. We really enjoyed the weekend. Thank you very much!
Uncle Dirk was very friendly and helpful, the place was very neat and clean and we could really just relax and enjoy nature.
The ideal place to recharge batteries; in nature. We didn't see many animals. Would have liked it if the watering hole was full of water.
Everything is clean and everything you need is there. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the silence and tranquility is noticeable. Will stay there again.
We enjoyed it very much; do as little as possible for as long as possible. Drinking in the silence was true food for the soul. We will definitely visit Kohandé again. Would not recommend to anyone looking for entertainment.
Lovely peaceful bushland destination just an hour's drive from the city.
Clean, tidy and private!
My parents were there just to break away a bit, they really enjoyed it. Cow hands are very neat and it really creates a peaceful atmosphere. My parents reckon they will definitely go there again.
Very clean, well equipped accommodation.
Neat, clean and quiet.
A fantastically memorable weekend from the time we arrived to the time we left! Every attention to detail we wanted! Thank you Dirk, for this little peace of Eden. We will definitely return.
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is just the place.
Kohande has spared no effort to make this tent accommodation one of the best there is, at an affordable rate. We had a great time, barbecued and rested! We would definitely recommend it to others!
Spent a night at Kohande with my wife. The accommodation was beautifully laid out with a lovely patio to watch the birds and animals going by, and a comfortable bed to sleep on. In the evenings it so peaceful to hear the Zebra calling. A lovely place to stay! We will definitely be back.
It's a great place for a peaceful getaway. Good rest! Do you want to get away from the everyday hustle and bustle? Then feel free to try Kohande.
It's wonderful to be able to be in the forest with animal sounds around you. Mountain biking and watching small game. Sleeping and bathroom facilities were excellent. Own lapa setup is nice for private braai. It's worth spending the night there.
