52 guests' feedbackWe have stayed here 4 times, and have always really enjoyed our stay. The log cabins are perfect for a night or 2 away. Well appointed and equipped.
We had a fantastic relaxing time, staff helpful and cheerful. Chalet neat and comfortable, highly recommended.
Peaceful and relaxing. Cabins are clean and comfortable. Staff are cheerful.
Always next best to being at home.
Clean and cosy accommodation perfect for a short stay. Awesome to be able to watch the wildlife from the comfort of your verandah.
In a nutshell, everything was perfect.
It was breathtakingly beautiful and quiet and everyone was so friendly. I would only warn to take everything that would be needed, because the little shop and restaurant are not in operation.
Hiking trail was well marked, a bit more challenging than I initially thought. But breathlessly beautiful. Saw some Wildebeest, Antelope and Zebra across the chalet at the watering hole early the next morning. Room had a heater, which helped a lot. Experienced some noise from other groups till late at night, but unfortunately the disturbance is not something the resort can always control.
Clean and tidy. We only stayed overnight, so we couldn't make use of everything that Kumbagana Game Lodge has to offer.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The chalet was clean and sufficiently equipped; the only thing I missed was a veggie peeler when I wanted to peel carrots for a salad. It's a pity that the restaurant and kiosk were not operational, but the garage wasn't far away to buy the basics. The pool was awesome; it was very hot when we were there.
Will definitely go back.
Not my own bed. Nice stay.
Enjoyed it a lot. Nature and tranquility facilities were up to standard. Good value for money.
Quiet and away from the hectic life.
Relax and enjoy the wildlife.
Had a great time with the family.
Kumbagana Game Lodge is a gem. Beautiful scenery with neat wooden chalets. Large lapa and boma for groups. We held a barbecue and cutlery was fully provided. There is a TV for the sports enthusiasts in the lapa. 10 out of 10. Jacques and his team are very professional.
It was lovely to see the goats walking around between the huts. People are very friendly and helpful. Would have been nice if the restaurant was open. The place definitely has potential and needs to market the place more and attract people. It's a lovely place!
Was lovely to sit outside and watch the animals walking around nearby. Beautiful sunset and sunrise. It would be a lovely place for a family gathering.
We will definitely visit again.
The most enjoyable hike was hard but beautiful. The swimming pool after was amazingly clean and cool.
Has that typical bushveld feel, although we did hope for more entertainment facilities since there were none, like a games room or putt putt etc. since the property has a lot of space to add to it. The bathroom and bunkbed room wall is not to the top which is not comfortable and no door for the spare bunk bed room. No space in the kitchen to pack groceries and the power kept on tripping when one uses the stove and oven at the same time.
Try to level the inside road a bit more to make it better for small cars as well, and put in the door to the kiddies bedroom.
Very nice farm with nice long and scenic hiking trail. Neatly maintained and clean facilities. Could stretch out and relax in the silence of the woodland. No complaints.
Peaceful atmosphere, challenging hiking trail, absolutely worth it.
Comfortable accommodation, a variety of bokkies visited us daily and the hike was amazing! Staff were friendly and helpful. Tip bring some deck chairs.
Very nice stay in wooden cabin. Kitchen perhaps lacks some cutlery and stove works very slowly. Other than that it had been fantastic.
A place to relax your mind, to refresh and be at peace. Engage with nature.
Beautiful scenery, peace and quiet for your soul. Plekkie has everything you need. Staff are hospitable and friendly.
My stay was awesome. Had some quiet moments with family and children.
See stars.
My wife tells me to rest, really, you can rest here, really beautiful part of our country, clean, safe, fair. Value for money.
Staff needs to familiarize themselves with surroundings so that they can give adequate directions.
We were not aware that we had to pay a R300 cash deposit for the key. No coffee/tea in the room. No power plugs in the 2nd bedroom. Electric blanket would be a bonus as it was very cold. The bar and restaurant are not open for business. Furthermore, it was very peaceful and we enjoyed it.
Resort was quiet and peaceful. Rooms were clean with all the basic necessities. Restaurant and bar area was noisy, but all in all, it's a very nice weekend getaway.
Very good and lovely.
Not worth mentioning the paddock on web page. Road stall has basically no products.
Kumbagana is meant for people who just want to rest and read or even walk. This is not the type of Lodge where you can take children who need to be kept busy. The restaurant is not in use. For functions only. The shop on site is not sufficient. If you come there for the first time, you will definitely have to drive back to town. The chalets need some attention for sure. Outside on the porch of the chalet is a table and chairs that are fixed. My husband is big and probably couldn't sit there. It goes without saying that when you host 4 people in a chalet, there will be 4 chairs outside at the braai area. If you don't know the place, you won't know to take extra chairs. Access to the Lodge is a hassle. You have to call the office all the time to open the gate. How about a code for access? Many places in the area use a code. It's something you can change as an owner. Something that is completely out of the owner's control are the animals. The most beautiful pictures of the animals there are. We didn't see anything. You can't drive on your own either. You have to go on a wild ride. Many of the lodges and resorts in the area heat their pools a little. How about a game of putt-putt. This Lodge certainly has its supporters. But for us, not again.
Please make sure that the linen is clean, it is not nice sleeping in a bed that smells horrible.
Barbecue grill was broken. Couldn't grill.
Professional and hospitable staff. Great stayover!
Very friendly and helpful service. Neat and everything you need in the house. Bunk beds not for "big" grown men. Had a great time in nature. Game drive was very informative.
Was a stopover for day trip to Pilansberg. The caretaker was prepared to open the gate early without hesitation for our day tour to Pilanesberg. Place was very neat. We are definitely planning a longer visit there.
Have a nice walk and take it easy.
Beautiful scenery with wildlife and birds around chalets. Well equipped chalets, but no TV as indicated on the website under room amenities.
No loud music, noise or bad behaviour from the other visitors.
Thank you Kumbagana for the stay. My family and I really enjoyed it. The Oom was so kind, he even gave us his firelighters because they didn't have any at the Kiosk. The wooden cabins are such a vibe. Loved it!
We were there with our two small children, it's safe to go cycling and walking. Swimming facilities are very clean and tidy. The houses were neat and clean. The manager was very helpful with noisy guests/neighbours and intervened quickly.
There could be a few improvements made to the cabins. But overall we had a great time.
If you and your family want to rest and enjoy nature, this is the place for you. Armand was extremely hospitable.
I will do it again with pleasure.
