Kweekkraal Guest Farm is situated 8.2km west of Riversdal right at the gateway to the Garden Route on the Southern Coast of Africa.
The farm forms part of a conservation area. The main house is of historic significance and was built in 1880.
This is a working farm, sheep and cattle are grazed on cultivated Oats and Lucerne pastures. Other grain crops produced are Canola, Wheat and Barley.
Our accommodation consists of nine units which have recently been lovingly renovated and equipped by the farm owners, Pieter and Sandra van Wyk.
Five twobedroomed cottages overlook a farm dam with a backdrop of Eucalyptus trees and grain fields. They each have a bedroom with a double bed, another bedroom with two single beds, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen, lounge/dining area and a patio with a barbeque facility.
Three onebedroom cottages are situated around the swimming pool and barbeque area.
One cottage has a double bed and two have two single beds. They all have fully equipped kitchens and an en-suite bathroom with a shower (no baths).
There is also a rustic stone cottage bound to lift your spirit and revive your senses. Lights are powered by solar, hot water by gas and cooking by gas or fire, Up to eight guests can sleep in this unit. Two bedrooms each have a double bed and two single beds, (bunk beds). One bathroom with shower (no bath)to be shared. A fully equipped open plan lounge/kitchen area with a huge indoor barbeque/fireplace. For your convenience we offer braai packs (home grown quality meat), sandwiches for the coals, fresh salads (Greek, Italian, other types on request), wood and soft drinks.

I cannot fault Kweekkraal at all. It was well equipped, cleaner than clean, conveniently positioned, had lovely views, hostess Rona was friendly and welcoming and generally, it is extremely good value for money. Sadly the dam is empty, but that is not their fault!

It is not often that one arrives at a well-organised place. Knowing the place is well kitted with everything makes it easier to plan a follow-up visit. It's clean and serene. Just far enough to enjoy a lovely car trip and close enough to know the journey back is pleasurable enough. We had a fantastic stay despite the icy weather but the aircon and heated blankets sorted this all out. Very very happy with our beautiful weekend away.
Wonderful 2 nights spent here. Lovely accommodation in detached units. Friendly reception and helpfulness. Nice mountain bike riding on the farm, barbecue and enjoying the tranquility and sunsets.

Beautiful farm with lovely backdrop of the rolling hills, sheep, blue cranes and cows were spotted. We were also visited by the friendly farm dogs. Nice place to stay for an overnight stop on the road.
My hele familie was baie beïndruk met die topgehalte-verblyf en dit was bo ons verwagtinge. Die ander gaste het ons sommer tuis laat voel en was baie vriendelik. Die bestuurder van die plek was topklas. Ons sal weer Kweekkraal besoek, het ook my vriende vertel van die plek. Hulle was skoon jaloers.
Good braai facilities for those who enjoy turning some meat. Just bring your own wood. The N2 is very close, but had no burden from the traffic. Will come stay again.

I took my mom for a weekend getaway and we were both very happy with Kweekkraal. It is easy to find. The price is very reasonable and the units are modern, beautiful, comfortable and very neat and clean. The service is friendly and the view is fantastic. I think this might be our new meeting place in the future.
The accommodation was very nice, especially because it is on a farm and we could enjoy the natural beauty of the area. The guest house was very comfortable, clean and exactly what one would expect from a self-catering unit. Ideal venue if children play in the Oakdale Rugby tournament in Riversdal! We will definitely stay there again if we are in the area.

It is a quiet and peaceful place to stay with very friendly people.
We had a quick 1 night stop over on our way back to Cape Town. Unfortunately it poured with rain so we were stuck inside, but were very comfortable. The cottage had everything we needed and was neat and tidy. The beds were very comfy! The cottage was a bit cold with the tiled floors and I would suggest additional heaters, especially for winter!
We stayed in Nature Lovers Cottage, it was very tranquil and wonderfully secluded and equipped with all basic facilities. Perfect people in search of a quiet spot for the weekend, or even for just one night, close to the main raod. Rona went out of her way to make our stay awesome.

Conveniently located near Riversdale for quick shopping. Large security gate creates sense of security. The grounds are well maintained and picturesque, historic buildings renovated.

Regrettably a very short stop over but will return again. Rona was very accommodating with all our requests to ensure our needs were met and our stay was comfortable.

What a pleasant stay for our family! We enjoyed the neat, up to standard facilities and the friendly host. We were able to take a long walk on the farm, past the horses and dams, we sat on the stoep, watching the Karoo stars. We will visit again.
