It was what I needed. Overnight sleep and breakfast.
From the moment we received our 'Ry safe' app from Marcelia early in the morning, we felt welcome. The guest house is very neat, clean and Marcelia just made us feel spoiled with her warmth and kindness. The breakfast was delicious and she made a lot of effort for us. There is also a restaurant outside the town where we had delicious dinners.
Had a great sleep over.

Lovely stay, clean and in order.
We had stayed in the central Drakensberg area which was a stunning location with a few amenities and attractions. We arrived in Bergville to discover that all the attractions being promoted were back in the area where we had stayed for 5 nights. A disappointment. The accommodation itself was very nice but we found the open plan en suite bathroom somewhat odd, no privacy at all. The B&B was very clean and pleasant with the host a very lovely lady. We had booked for two nights but only stayed for one because there was nowhere to go for an evening meal. As well as loadshedding the previous evening the water was off on the Tuesday morning.
I would recommend Lavender & Roses B&B to anyone. Nice and clean. Good Service.
There are maintenance works needed here and there in the self-catering apartment. Like a handle that broke off or faucets that are loose. The TV could be upgraded a bit. The receptionist is definitely an asset to the guest house. We had a delicious breakfast. Will definitely go back there again.

The lady who looked after us was great, wish I could take her along so spoiled were we. Everything was clean and tidy after we were on the road for 7 hours, it was refreshing.
Was deeply grateful for their help on short notice and their willingness to go the extra mile for us, regarding certain needs. Nice friendly people, who are professional and considerate, any hour of the day.
No further comment. As already mentioned, the service and accommodation were great and rates acceptable.
There are only two things I would change. White unlined curtains do not make the room very dark, which made it difficult for me to fall asleep, I ended up sleeping with my running shorts over my eyes. The bed seemed very small, my husband and I ended up sleeping top to toe but still disturbed each other. The bed was comfortable though.
Had a good overnight stay, the rooms were more than adequate and a feast for breakfast. Unfortunately there was no water in the town, which made things difficult as we had travelled far to attend a wedding. Perhaps a water tank should be considered to accommodate guests needs. Martie did supply buckets of water, but a warm shower was what we needed. Breakfast at 08:00 after a late night out was also somewhat inconvenient.

Travelled to Bergville for a wedding and thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay! The 3 rooms which we had booked were all clean, the staff were all friendly and the breakfasts were delicious!

Everything went smoothly. From the day we arrived in Bergville until we left. The service was excellent and we were very happy with our decision to stay there. It is central and was easy to get to all our destinations. Would definitely recommend Lavender & Roses. Clean, tasteful and made one feel particularly at home.
Die kamer was netjies, maar baie basic. Badkamer net een gedeeltelike afgeskermde hoekie van die kamer en die selfcatering was 2 potte en 2 plate. Geen swembad, geen internet, slegte opvang van vodacom internet. Daar was een stoepie en net langsaan nog 'n selfcatering kamer. Gelukkig was dié leeg, want ons sou by mekaar op die knieg gesit het. Voor die stoepie was die parkeer-area van die hele gastehuis en dan die straat. Jy kon eintlik nie buite sit nie, net binne met die gordyne toe.
Beautiful, tranquil and super clean! I enjoyed my stay at Lavender and Roses and will be going back just to relax. Warm welcome and my request for early check in was granted without any hustle. The place is easy to find. Breakfast was delicious. Décor is to die for! Just wished there was mini bar fridge in the room. What I like the most was what I saw online when I booked is exactly what I found when I arrived! I will be going back to Lavender and Roses again that for sure!
We went to Bergville to run the Arthur Cresswell Marathon. Our hostess was super accommodating, the rooms neat and spacious, with a lovely view of the Drakensberg. We enjoyed a late breakfast that may be compared to a king's meal. We will definitely stay at Lavender & Roses when we return to Bergville.
Lovely place to stay and very clean and warm house. Enjoyed the under floor heating and delicious food.
Reception at the guest house was so friendly, we felt right at home! The guest house is neat and clean and the rooms have everything you need. Breakfast was delicious and there is a lovely restaurant located 3 km from the guest house which is perfect for dinner. We will definitely visit Lavender & Roses again if we are in the area and recommend it to others as well.
I was amazed to find such warm and homely accommodation in the heart of the Drakensberg. A very neat and clean room was waiting for me, which was well equipped. Would stay there again anytime.

We were received very kindly. Secure parking, lovely spacious rooms, clean bedding and comfortable bed. We slept peacefully every night, had good breakfast, delicious coffee and no other meals are available. There is a restaurant nearby that provides very good meals. I recommend Lavender & Roses to people who want to stay overnight in Bergville.
The mats in front of the bed are full of black dirt spots. The kettle was on the floor under the mirror cabinet. At first the room looked neat, but then you see the room is not cleaned properly. Both mirrors in the room and bathroom were full of splashes. The wooden shower mat was broken with exposed nails. The standing surface of the shower is dirty and has not been cleaned properly for a long time. The bathroom window is full of old splashes and has not been cleaned for a long time. The towels were dirty and the bedding full of hair. Why aren't there loose sheets? Is the duvet really washed every time? The hair dryer handle is sticky and we had to wrap paper around it for use.

Would definitely recommend this as a stop over or even if staying for a few days. Marcelia was extremely helpful, as we arrived a bit later than is normal.

It was a clean stay, but it is not ideal to spend so much money when staying in this small town, as Bergville is far from N3 / not as close as Winterton to Drakensburg mountains/resorts.
