32 guests' feedbackReally enjoyed the nature and all the animals that walk past the chalet and come to say hello.
Conveniently close to all the facilities. Nice boma. Variety of animals that came to visit us regularly.
Rooms were clean, restaurants were the best, as well as the entertainment at the pools. Definitely coming back.
We enjoyed it a lot, could rest well, saw beautiful wildlife. Even game drives make it good.
The stay was great. Elephant Park was close to the amenities. Network challenges are noted in the communication; however, I didn't think it would be completely out of range. Maybe they could consider WiFi. Good for getting off the grid.
There is no WiFi or phone signal at the unit, which we did not notice on the booking. There is a kitchen; however, it does not have an oven.
Super nice with all the animals with you, nice braai area.
Not at all as per the photos. Towels were not replaced at all. The mattress is slept in and sleeps hard. The cleaning service only makes the bed and washes the dishes, no toilet or bathroom is touched. DSTV was limited, no shows we watch. Lots of ants in the kitchen, no doom.
Enjoyed the animals. Would not recommend to the elderly customers due to stairs. Two plate stove needs to be secured (anti slip).
It was very nice, animals came to visit on the front porch every day. Didn't have hot water the first night, but Sonja quickly fixed it. All that bothered was the loadshedding.
This was our second visit to Mabalingwe and I must say the condition of the roads is poor. The rushing of the staff with their vehicles is unacceptable to me. We were also involved in a situation with a large vehicle from Working on Fire on the narrow road behind the cafe when he came around the blind corner at speed and almost crashed into us! However, the worst situation was the Saturday when there was a lot of noise at the pool until late Saturday afternoon. It was completely like we were at a shebeen so bad was the noise and music. Everything but the peace and quiet that I expect at a place like Mabalingwe. The unavailability of wifi at the unit makes it difficult to communicate. Gas will also have to be looked at as an option as loadshedding makes it impossible to even just make coffee. There was also no barbecue equipment in the unit.
First of all to the website, it is an absolute pleasure to do a booking through you. Everything was handled very well and professionally. Very neat chalet that we will definitely visit again. As mentioned above, the lapa was also neat and in good condition compared to some of the other lapas. Another bonus is that it is walking distance to the shop, pool etc. We did wildlife viewing in our own vehicle which was also very nice and saw a lot of animals. One night there were elephants in the camp which was a very nice experience to watch them from the chalet. The restaurant and bar upstairs at reception are really pleasant and the food was very tasty, as was the bar in the caravan park (also delicious Pizzas in the caravan park). We would really recommend the chalet and Mabalingwe as a whole. The only negative comment I have is the music at the Kalahari Oasis. It was extremely loud and I almost had to shout at the lady to place my order. One of the male staff was also whistling very loudly along with the music and we did not enjoy it there at all. Load shedding remains a frustration and beyond the resort's control and Mabalingwe had an awful lot of load shedding during our time there. Suggest about the elephants to maybe just put a warning on the reservation that they do move through the accommodation area.
Had a great time will definitely go again.
We had a wonderful rest in the peaceful atmosphere. Accommodation is stylish, neat and clean. Every day our place was cleaned which gave us more time to be quiet. The animals in the resort are breathtakingly beautiful. The Predators park is unforgettable. Thank you Mabalingwe.
Unit is serviced every day. The place is fully equipped. The outdoor boma on the river makes you feel so at home in nature. The animals graze between the chalets, you can't get closer to nature.
Would recommend that crockery and cutlery get attention, don't think it's a good idea that everyone who breaks can replace with what they want.
The accommodation and the location are perfect. We were very comfortable, the kitchen area also has enough appliances to make your time there very hassle free. Our only complaint is that our aircon unit did not work. We checked in and let Christa know she had to send someone to check why the aircon wasn't working (because it's damn hot there). No one came to see or help. In the end we went to buy batteries for the remote ourselves to see if it would help. Fortunately it did.
Great improvement on previous years. Gardens around residential units really need attention. We were surprised with two frogs in the house crawling under the back door. Really enjoyed the bomb barbecue.
We had to wash everything before dinner. The cottage's shower was not clean and shower floor not up to standard. The thatched roof was horribly full of cobwebs all over which we reported to Sonja. After cleaning the roof on Sonja's instructions, the floor was left dirty. We refused cleaning service after this. The lighting is not up to standard. Apart from the above we had a great time. The restaurant is recommended. We really enjoyed the wildlife.
We did enjoy our stay and will visit again. Only the water-draining in shower needs attention.
Great location with fantastic accommodation and wildlife.
A wonderful 5 days spent at Mabalingwe Elephant Lodge. The house is very beautiful and has its own boma where you can braai and watch birds and enjoy the goats and warthogs passing by. We were also blessed to find wild boar one night right at our boma. It's a beautiful place for a nice break with a very reasonable price!
I had a very beautiful experience at the elephant Lodge the elephants even paid us a visit it was a very nice experience.
We definitely want to come back again with a bigger group of people.
Nice to be in nature but still have everything at hand. Lots of animals and birds to watch and self catering or restaurants available. Plenty of other activities for young and old. The night drive was very nice. Wild animals roaming freely between housing units may become a problem especially for small children e.g. large warthogs that storm, nyala goats with sharp horns etc.
The unit is nicely equipped with what one needs. The unit is clean and the kitchen is nicely laid out. For a quick weekend getaway the place is ideal, close to swimming pools, shops and other entertainment. Animals come to visit the surrounding area. We really enjoyed it here.
I just think the owner should take a look at the accommodation unit himself.
Our times in Mabalingwe are always fun. Lodge 267B definitely has everything you need (the separate kitchen is great). The bathroom has been redone and tastefully decorated. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
The private game viewers should not be used by young people. They drive carelessly and disturb others in the field!
Was better than expected
Very beautiful scenery. Don't expect the big 5. Saw rhinos and buffaloes. Elephant dung and lions cost extra, which you only find out about later.
Was a lovely trip for the wife and I. Recommend to get there earlier on a Friday to make the most of 2 days. Get to do a lot more. The spa was the best.
