60 guests' feedbackGreat place, enjoyed our stay.
It was a very pleasant experience.
We had a great stay with the most beautiful view on the upper level. A variety of animals and birds came to visit us for breakfast on the porch. What a great experience.
Great stay! Will definitely use them again.
Majuli River Lodge is neat, clean and comfortable and was ready on our arrival. Mercy made sure we were satisfied and showed us everything on arrival. She is very friendly and helpful. View from the deck is great. Very peaceful environment. Boma is very nice. Just a little low to grill on too, +- 30cm from the ground. With the wind blowing, the sand blows easily on the meat, and it is uncomfortable to stand hunched all the time and grill. Pool is great and a bonus. Aircon inside also saved us from 38 degrees, which Mercy had already put on before our arrival. thank you very much. Animals often pass by, and were able to enjoy eating the game pellets that we took with us. Suggest a separate grill, which is higher would be ideal. Canopy for the vehicle also a big plus. We really enjoyed it terribly. Will definitely stay here again, thank you very much.
Our family really enjoyed the visit. The owner is busy with upgrades and we have also given our suggestions. The house is small and has the basics you need. The pool is permanently in the cool and basically never gets sun and therefore stays ice cold. At least we could swim, but didn't last long. The selling point is definitely the top deck and the view over the Crocodile River. Every evening's sunset was picture perfect and elephants, waterbucks, impalas, kudus, hippos and a lot of others came down to the river to drink during the day.
Will go back. Builders next to make animals on their nerves, but builders are almost done. I will calm down animals.
This is a beautiful location. However, the accommodation is very dated and shabby. The grounds need some attention too. Such a pity as the view is lovely and the surroundings are so peaceful.
We only stayed one of the three nights booked as we found the accommodation shabby and not as represented in the pictures. It's a pity as it's a lovely location overlooking the river, but the grounds are overgrown and trees mask the view somewhat. The interior is dated and dowdy, not at all inviting, and the noise travels excessively. So, when in the downstairs bedroom, you can hear every movement in the upstairs room. I'm sure it was a lovely spot in its glory days, but those seem a long time in the past. Such a shame.
What a beautiful place. We had such a relaxing break. We heard lions, hippos and the fish eagles. We were visited by warthogs and zebras. What an incredible place to connect with nature. Will definitely go back. Wish we had booked to stay longer.
Amazing, we were welcomed by zebras at the entry of our river house which was beautiful! Mercy, who is the caretaker, is super friendly and also suggested places to eat. The view from our balcony was breathtaking. Watching the sunset was just so beautiful and one of the things we enjoyed daily. Watching the stars, elephants, hippos, buffalo, springboks, and plenty more animals come to drink water from the river was just so beautiful!
We could hang out on the deck until late and admire nature. Will stay at Majuli River Lodge again.
Enjoy every moment.
Very nice stay and visit.
It was a lovely stay. Just the front door latch was bent and we could not lock or unlock door. It was opened by the lady for us and thereafter we could not lock or unlock the latch of the door.
It was peaceful and had a nice woodland atmosphere.
We did, thank you, the aircon upstairs was not working, but slept outside on the balcony. Could upgrade the bedding a bit and could smell that it was not freshly laundered. There is no mop or broom. Furthermore, the view was worth it and we really enjoyed Marloth.
Photos are not at all what the place actually looks like. Lots of maintenance issues that were never fixed during our time there.
It was the first time that we saw bushbabies.
Great experience, would recommend to anyone that loves the outdoors and just wants to relax and get away.
We had a great time relaxing there in the short period of time and really enjoyed the nature and animals. Will definitely go back again in the future.
Nice basecamp to lay your head after a day's game viewing in the Kruger. The call of Fish Eagles and hippos at night was wonderful.
The summary fully describes our feelings of the lodge. We had a wonderful time there.
The cleanliness was not up to scratch. The lodge itself is below par. Poor finishing for the rate of cost. Kitchen is really below not good. Beds are really uncomfortable, bathroom not clean and there is plenty of room for a shower in upper bathroom. Generally unclean and the whole lodge is in need of repairs and a paint and some love shown to it. If this was done then the lodge would be worth the money. Very poor braaiing facilities available. The best part about the lodge is the upper deck area. The table and chairs downstairs are in need of being discarded and new ones in their place as I ripped 2 t shirts on the chairs. The stay overall was okay. Please show love to make this lodge better.
Nice location. Maintenance requires attention.
Welcoming committee were the monkeys and from then on the daily animal and bird visitors were amazing. Thanks for sharing your amazing house.
Maybe ask them to look at the leaking upstairs sink. Water came through to the downstairs bathroom.
Very comfortable, the lookout deck on the top floor just makes this accommodation! Beautiful view over the Kruger Park, we saw elephants, crocodiles and hippos from the deck.
Very simple accommodation. House needs sprucing up. For the price one expects more amenities. Would like to enjoy a decent braai area.
Marlothpark pleasant atmosphere, comfortable, lots of animals and birds.
We would have liked it if the trees and bushes could have been cut lower so that you could also see the river from the lower porch. The place is neat and safe. We had a great time, the deck just gets incredibly hot, so we decided to cut the bushes by the lower porch. Thank you very much we will definitely come back again.
The best part of Majuli River Lodge is the deck with its view of the river and animals near the lodge. Unfortunately the lodge itself is a bit old and in need of attention. The lodge has what is needed, but it's all uncomfortable. The shower curtain sits very low and only my small children did not need to bend down to get into the shower. After the 6th time the curtain fell off, I stopped putting it back. Cutlery is provided, but kept on the lowest shelf in the kitchen and one has to bend far for a teaspoon. The table and chairs on the deck do not fit together and it was very uncomfortable to eat, the table is high and the chairs low. Even I who am almost 2 m tall sat on a cushion to get better. The customer service is good and booking went smoothly, we were warmly welcomed. The WiFi worked well. At R1500 per night I expected more.
We absolutely loved Majuli River Lodge. Had zebras right at our doorstep, saw elephants and hippo from the porch every day. Plus kudus, giraffes and monkeys when driving around. The place was clean and the kitchen well equipped. We did day trips to Kruger Park to see more wild life. Had a magical time, enjoyed every minute. Many thanks.
The house itself is badly soundproofed, so you can hear every sound from each room in the whole house. It has a basic equipment and the dishes had to be cleaned before use. Nice was the little bar with a second fridge upstairs. The water in the pool dirty and murky although a pool guy cleaned it every morning. The charms of the house is mostly the wonderful terrace upstairs, which is perfect for wildlife watching and sundowners.
The reservation was changed without notice. When we arrived at the house and called the owner, he was very unfriendly over the phone. The house was dirty, smoked in. On the positive, the shower worked and the availability of a washing machine.
Will recommend any time.
Great view on the river where game drinks water throughout the day. Very nice spacious place, especially the deck.
My husband and I slept over for one night. It was lovely and will always be a cherished memory.
The cutlery and glasses need a bit of attention. Braais were dirty. That aside, we will book Majuli any day again. My grandkids really enjoyed it, especially the zebra visit.
Already recommended it to all my friends. Excellent value for money. Loved tanning on the deck while elephants, buffalo and hippos grazed down in the Crocodile River. The animals in Marloth Park are beautiful. Two small things, the cupboards in the room could use some attention, especially for people staying longer than a week. At the braai area some of the weeds can be removed. It's not negative, just constructive criticism. If I should go again, this would be the place I stay and as I mentioned I have already recommended it to friends.
When you sit on the deck early in the morning with a coffee and a piece of biscuit in your hand and feel the gentleness of the night and the morning on your body, the words "be still and know I am God" come to mind. We realize again how small we are and that there is a bigger hand that keeps everything under control.
It was delicious, just too short. This is such a small piece of heaven that has fallen here. The view is incredible, as is the tranquility. The animal sounds and the birds are unique. Here you get your soul back from the everyday rush to nothing. Here you can become human again. Many thanks to Maritsa and Dean for your kindness. If you want to complain about something then just complain it's fantastic. All I would recommend is the possible placement of a small fridge above. If you sit up on the deck and enjoy nature with a cool one, you have to refill the fridge every now and then.
We had a very friendly welcome. Everything was clean, on its place. The splash pool was full and clean. The location is unbelievable. Right on the river with a beautiful view. It is a place where you can switch off and spend your holiday in a different world. But you have to love the veld.
Our stay was lovely and we really enjoyed it. Very well equipped except for the bar stools that create quite a safety hazard.
Majuli River Lodge is beautiful. It was a lovely break. The best part of the house is the upper deck! Incredible view. All that bothers me is the wooden floor that makes a lot of noise and no bath.
I would recommend anyone to stay here. The view over the Crocodile River was fantastic and we saw so many animals. Just a pity the river was so dry. The cottage was adequate for us and of course the deck was the highlight to watch the sun rise in the early morning while drinking a nice cup of coffee. Thanks to everyone who contributed.
With temperatures of 46°C, the air conditioning was heaven on earth! We enjoyed the stay very much. Just want to recommend that a door be fitted to the downstairs bathroom. The floor was soaking wet after every shower. The upstairs bathroom's shower needs some attention.
The place is quiet and fully equipped. The air conditioning is a plus. It needs some renovation work and a roof to park your car under.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing extra that would have been helpful is a map of the area. We were lucky and then simply got a card from the municipality. Other than that, it was incredibly fun and the people in the area are very friendly and helpful.

It was a wonderful experience for us as a family of 4. We had a lovely stay in the house, the zebras and warthogs visited us often and hanging out on the deck for hours on end watching what was going on in and around the river was lovely. I hope to enjoy such a holiday again one day, especially in Majuli River Lodge's home.
The dec upstairs at Majuli makes it. Everything you need to have a good time in the forest is there.
The house is functional, with a gorgeous deck. The only downside was that the air-cons didn't work and the one fan in the downstairs bedroom also didn't work.
Beautiful location, great sightings of Elephant, Hippo, crocodiles, Buffalo and Waterbuck. House needs a bit of attention as taps leaking, microwave rusted on the inside, and some outside spots were not working but were repaired 2 days before our departure. Downstairs shower needs a door or curtain. Otherwise the sunsets on the deck and the sightings made the stay worthwhile, like I said rustic but comfortable. We had a great stay. Also reasonable close to the Crocodile gate of the Kruger.

Stayed in March with a friend from Australia. The place is amazing, well positioned with an awesome view. Truly thankful for Mike, he is a great guy with so much knowledge of the place and just a kind person. I will definately be back and will tell everyone I know just how much of an experience and pleasure it was to stay. nMany thanks from Jade in Australia.
We would use Majuli River Lodge again.
You have amazing views of the Crocodile River. Seeing the elephants was a highlight!
We'll be back, the entire family loved it and we could of easily stayed for a further week. The walks in the morning were great and to get so close to the game in Marloth was magical. We had the pleasure of meeting Mike on the last day and to thank him... and thank you TravelGround for your assistance and follow up.
