The Zebra house is very privately located with a beautiful view and the goats and giraffes come right up to the house and are beautiful to see. The house itself is basically furnished. There is a gas stove and oven and rechargeable lights are available for power outages. The shower is over the bath and quite low and because there is no door or curtain, the whole floor is wet after someone has showered. There is no cell phone signal or WiFi at Zebra, but that doesn't bother us. The braai lapa outside is very comfortable and wood is provided.
What a beautiful gem Mpofini is. Chantal is an amazing host. Sadly this place is still recovering from the aftereffects of the Covid Lockdown, so there is a lot of need for maintenance, which is obviously not happening yet.

We did not use the accommodation. The road to the main part was very bad. The road to the reserved bush camp was even worse and not suitable for an ordinary vehicle. It needs urgent attention. The blankets in the unit had holes. The lady in charge offered us alternative accommodation in the main part, but after inspection it was turned down. We also thank her for making arrangements to reimburse our accommodation fees.
No one told us that the road to the lodge is quite rough. Upon arrival the receptionist was quite rude. The card machine was struggling, and she made us feel quite uncomfortable. Arrive at the log cabin ready to relax, and what happens? One of the farm workers starts cutting the grass with a weedeater. Turnover starts and we want to make a fire with the free wood provided. No fire lighters. Drive around looking for someone to help. No one available anywhere. We then got a fire going, because the wood wasn't dry either. If you go there, take everything you might need. The gas stove leaks gas, you just have to close it outside, otherwise the house smells of gas.
Still have not received breakages deposit of R1200 back which I was promised within 2/3 days. It has been 7 days now since our stay. Please help.
Neat and clean. Bathroom rugs were outside on deck upon arrival. No other problems very peaceful environment.
They go out of their way to make us feel welcome. They made our wedding anniversary really special. They were friendly and very accommodating. The food was fantastic. Everything they did for us I can't even describe how special it was. Will definitely go back again anytime. Special thanks to Uncle Ben and his son who took us on the game drive and Corne and Ella who arranged everything for our picnic and romantic meal.
It is a beautiful place. Lovely boma and hanging hole. Unfortunately, the road to the campsite is not too good. Caravans will suffer on the road. Staff very friendly. In general, it seems to us that the campsite does not clean the ablution blocks before campers arrive. It's a pity.
The unit was neat and clean, with a beautiful view of the surroundings. We enjoyed the absolute silence, only animals breaking the silence now and then.
Was very impressed with the beautiful nature and view. Everything was in place and ready for guests. We will definitely visit again. Thank you very much.

The payment of deposit/holding fee like in booking Avis cars is a turnoff, even though it's returned at the end of stay upon non-breakage of facilities equipment.
Beautiful being out in the bush. The children could run freely, and safely. Animal viewing was lovely and the game drive was most enjoyable.

Bathrooms are old but clean. The bathroom entrance is on the opposite side of the pitches.
Before making our booking I asked about the safety of the place. I was told it is very safe. When we arrived and after paying the breakage deposit we were told that 3 weeks ago there was a farm attack on the premises. Later that night when we were at the restaurant we were told about a few break-in's. There was also no signal. The idea of staying overnight in Vryheid was to rest half way to our final destination. Nobody was able to get a good night's rest. Waking up every 30min to make sure we were save and the vehicle was save. The people were friendly and the food excellent.
The cabin was very old and run down. There was a dead bush baby in the kitchen. The shower did not work. No coffee for overnight guests. The restaurant was not open. We booked especially as we wanted a place with a restaurant on the premises as we were travelling and were tired. But we had to drive around in the dark in a strange town looking for food to eat as there was not enough staff to cook. Was a terrible experience.
Came home very relaxed; would love to go again.
Everything grea,t bathroom could do with an upgrade. No shower facility. Surprised that we could not drive ourselves to see game but very friendly and food exceptional.
The people go out of their way to make your stay as relaxing as possible. My son is disabled, the outing was for him, the environment was adapted for him so that there was no inconvenience. The game viewing was the highlight, a surprise anytime.
Self-catering needs a more intense cleaning. Hospitality is 100%.
It was so great to feel home away from home. Anita who is running the lodge gives a personal touch to the whole experience through constant communication on arrival time to sending a Whatsapp pin to ensure we didn't get lost. She even went to the lengths of googling a gluten free muffin recipe and making it for me during my stay. The place has very beautiful scenery and great value for money. Amy, the bar lady, kept us entertained with very unforgettable conversations. We will definitely be visiting again soon!

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. She kept us comfortable and definitely value for money. Just remember to let the restaurant know ahead of time if you want to eat there.
Only problem is the dirt road that leads to the gate. It's not in a good state and should be scraped more regularly.
So much looking forward to the place, but was very disappointed with the dirty rooms and bedding. One also does not feel very welcome and gets the idea that the place is neglected and its doors will not stay open for long.
It has a great view and their rooms are comfortable and clean.
The customer service was excellent. The view from the bar and room is very pretty. Will book there again.
The staff was very friendly and assistance in all our needs.
