We felt the layout of both was awkward, beds too close to front doors and no privacy in showers! And the kitchenette in 1 flat does not have a sink. Other than that, we loved the 'artsy' decor.

We stayed one night at Nelheim. Our hostess made us feel welcome and even brought us a flask of boiling water for tea as it was load shedding at that time. The place was everything one could wish for in a place to stay - neat, clean, with the finest decor. We will definitely stay there again when we visit Vredenburg.
Would recommend to anyone. Will definitely make use of this facility again. We were heavily loaded with stock for the Airshow and it was safely and securely locked behind high walls and a gate. Leaving at 05:00 the next morning posed no problem to the owner and she assisted us with the early departure.

Nelheim has a quiet and peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for those who want to switch off and enjoy themselves.
Nelheim could do with a soap dish in the shower and also hanging space for towels when you get out of the shower. Older people cannot bend down to pick up soap from the edge. Roof fan needs some cleaning of dust and fluff on fan blades. Wooden step awkwardly in front of toilet with carpet left over. Furthermore, their tops.
The environment was good for body and mind.
Although they advertise as animal friendly, there is not enough space where animals can roam freely. They also have one aggressive dog that injured our puppy.
Elsje upgraded us to another unit without any additional costs.
