Under 2 hours from Cape Town. Restaurant on site. Very good wine at a good price made on the premises. Very nice farm with walking paths. Very quiet and peaceful.
What a wonderful stay we had. Karin and Johan were amazing hosts. I have stayed at many places, but Nieuwedrift is by far one of the most beautiful places we have visited. The cottage is so modern and has more than one needs. The freshly baked bread and wine that were given were so appreciated. I will definitely be back for a peaceful, serene stay at Nieuwedrift. I was so sad to leave. The sheep dogs were so welcoming and spent time with us.

Everything in this cottage is excellent! Excellent planning and so fully equipped. Super clean! The decor is beautiful and the hospitality exceeds all expectations: home-baked bread and rusks, jam, bottle of wine. It was an absolute pleasure to be there.
Would love to come back for another stay, we visited the local wine farms and did the historic walk in Piketberg, very interesting. Thanks Johan and Karin for making the stay special and also enjoyed the on-site restaurant just next to the cottage.
Karin and Johan are extremely friendly and think of everything. We stayed very short but upon walking in we said we would definitely come again. Without any questions, a "caming cot" was set up for our son when Karin and Johan saw the age of our son. They really make a lot of effort for their guests and are accommodating. Would recommend to anyone.

Ons het die naweek regtig so baie geniet. Wonderlike naweek gehad en pragtige huis, gerieflik, cozy en baie vriendelike en behulpsame eienaars. Ons het die wyn en gebakte broodjie as geskenkie so baie waardeer en dit was regtig 'n treat.
We are generously received by Johan, the owner of Nieuwedrift. The cottage is beautiful with tasteful decor. The most beautiful white furniture in the room and bathroom. A real honeymoon room with nice linen and soft big towels. Lovely comfortable chairs and couch in front of a fireplace in the living room. One can see Karin is an artist with the detail in the decor. Fresh flowers in the rooms. We are so spoiled with Karin's delicious home-baked bread and biscuits as well as jam, butter, coffee for the dipper, sugar, tea as well as a bottle of the farm's wine. A well-equipped kitchen with quality appliances, a nice big microwave, complete stove, plastic and glass containers with lids. A table to eat at and a large fridge/freezer. There is a complimentary crate of wood by the braai area, the porch has been newly closed with a roller blind to help with the afternoon wind. We really appreciated that Johan came every day to make sure we didn't need anything and also for the nice chat. The cottage is the ideal place to use as a base to explore the area. About 100 km from Paternoster, Langebaan, Riebeeck Kasteel, Cape Town, etc. Nieuwedrift's restaurant is close to the cottage, we can recommend the breakfast. It will definitely be our first choice when we visit the area again.
It is a peaceful escape from the noise in the city. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The bottle of wine was a great surprise and very tasty. The place has everything you can think of and more. With loadshedding there were more than enough candles and a fireplace. I would go back again anytime. Already miss the place!
All those extras like fresh flowers, bottle of wine and freshly baked bread all added to being spoiled. The restaurant's pizzas I rate as the most delicious.
It is a nice peaceful and beautiful environment. The owners are very friendly and hospitable and it was truly a place to calm down.
We had a wonderful stay here at Nieuwedrift over the weekend. The house was perfect for the 3 of us and our 20-month-old daughter enjoyed running on the grass, sitting on the swing for long hours and playing with the water pools. We were very impressed with how clean the place was and very comfortable staying here.

Wonderful accommodation on a working farm. Had great fun visiting the baby sheep every night when they came back. Very comfortable beds. The restaurant offered some of the best pizza we have had in a long time. Had very enjoyable conversations with the host Johan and he really made one feel very welcomed. A pleasant surprise nearby for an outing is to take a drive to Piket op die berg.
The combination of accommodation and restaurant located nearby makes this the perfect getaway. Everyone is friendly from the moment you arrive and even the rain didn't bother us. Thanks for everything, see you soon.

What a wonderful stay! Beautiful cottage (including some delicious MCC and a freshly baked bread) with everything you could possibly need. Beautiful beds (the sleeper couch was converted into a lovely bed for our son in the living room) and most importantly, every corner in every room was clean. The farms is quite and very peaceful, owners were very helpful going out of their way to help. The wine is also delicious! The winemaker sits with you for the tasting, where you always learn much more than commercial places. That's was worth the drive alone. It was a pity the restaurant was closed, but in the end we preferred it as we had the yard to ourselves. We have already started telling everyone who is looking for accommodation in Piketberg to not look any further, we will definitely be back! 10/10 will recommended.

What a pleasant surprise. We were welcomed with genuine SA hospitality. Friendly people, a nice environment, home-baked bread and jam, own MCC in the fridge, coffee, milk, sugar and delicious biscuits. The spacious kitchen is excellently equipped with everything needed for baking or brewing: a four-plate stove, large fridge, electrical appliances and more than enough crockery and smaller items. The log fireplace was a winner, more wood was provided, while we watched TV and caught up on electronics in the evening. Had excellent WiFi signal. The beautiful bedroom with a welcome and comfortable double bed contributed to a wonderful night's rest. The beautiful and spacious en suite deserves a mention, although we made use of the separate shower. Secure parking and a spacious, tastefully furnished and well-equipped accommodation will make a follow-up visit worthwhile.
We really enjoyed the peaceful farm atmosphere and hospitality of Johan and Karin. Delicious pizzas at the restaurant and freshly baked bread in the cottage meant that we almost didn't get to our packed food. We look forward to our next visit! Johan and Karin are the best. The fresh baked bread and complimentary champagne were great. Would most definitely recommend it to anyone. Was just what I wanted and needed.

The quiet and relaxed setting was what we needed to recharge our batteries. Had an amazing time at Nieuwedrift. From the beautiful cottage to the small unexpected surprises that made our stay even more memorable. This is a perfect place if you are looking for a home away from home feeling. Everything that you would need and more was available to us. Very thoughtful hosts. Will definitely recommend and come again. Missed out on the wine tasting due to lock-down regulations.

We really enjoyed our 3-day stay at Nieuwedrift farm. We were warmly welcomed by our host, Johan, which set the tone for our stay. The very comfortable cottage has been exquisitely furnished by his wife, Karen, and is fully equipped. A fresh loaf of tasty farm bread was delivered at our arrival. There was no need to visit the nearby Piketberg for a decent meal since there was an excellent restaurant right next door. The pizza chef knows his stuff. The Shiraz produced by the farm came as a pleasant surprise. Nieuwedrift farm will see us again!
We can only describe Nieuwedrift as excellent. Extremely clean, white, neat and tasteful. We will definitely book at Nieuwedrift again.

We were so spoiled at Nieuwedrift guest house. Karen's freshly baked bread, the open Swartland horizons and a restaurant with the best pizzas and wine from the top shelves. Our neat guest house had everything one needs. Nieuwedrift is also child-friendly. We would recommend Nieuwedrift to anyone looking for country hospitality and good wine.
Our stay in this recently developed and stylish renovated cottage was a lovely experience due to the friendly owner and his wife, Karin. They went out of their way to let us feel special and welcome. At our arrival we were warmly welcomed with a freshly baked bread, butter and jam and a bottle of Nieuwedrift Cap Classic. Special attention is given to the beautiful and deluxe interior and this give a welcome and warm ambience. Next time we shall stay for a weekend to unwind and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. We wish them many more and happy guests.
I was so disappointed to find out there is no TV in the room and never been told where the kitchen is. The room was full of those smelly insects/bugs, actually they were even inside the blankets.
Lovely place if it's just to sleep a night, but the cabin isn't equipped for a short family vacation. Overall friendly people and lovely views.
