It was wonderful! Great place to stay and explore the surroundings. 12 km from the Cango Caves and other spots to visit. Beautiful cottages and an even better restaurant. Plenty of play areas for kids! We were supposed to stay for only one night on our way back home, but extended our stay once we experienced the lodge and the area. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our request to stay longer. What a great experience. Our kids did not want to leave because of the zip line!
We often choose Old Mill Lodge as a holiday destination and, as usual, stayed longer than we had initially booked. It is a heart place with so much peace around you, where time does not matter. Will always go back, especially for Toffee the Labrador!

Tobacco farmers in the Eastern Cape must hand in their product to Universal Leaf in Oudtshoorn. Old Mill was and still is our favorite place to stay. Until next year.

Very friendly reception and more beautiful than expected. Between the mountains lies the farm with a variety of accommodation, swimming pools, wildlife, fishing pond and the tranquility between the mountains. The unit is well equipped with a stoep and braai, and a comfortable kitchen-living area. With a good restaurant also on site, you don't even have to think about cooking.

Staying at Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant is our annual highlight! The lovely green scenery and the tranquility around you are priceless. Toffee, the labrador, definitely has to stay there in the future, otherwise we don't want to come anymore. This friendly giant dog is the attraction of the lodge. We had a fantastic 8 days in this paradise!
Beautiful place. Friendly host and staff. Peaceful atmosphere and picture-perfect view of the hills, dam and pool. Comfortable rooms that smell delicious. The ponies, goats and ostriches are a bonus. Will always stay there in the future.
We stayed in one of the tents. Our stay exceeded all our expectations. The outside shower was the cherry on the cake.

It was a lovely break, beautiful place, clean, tidy and beautiful. We really enjoyed the view.
We enjoyed our stay and dinner (lots of ostrich options). The manager there was excellent and efficient. The kids loved the bunnies and guinea pigs as well as the jungle gym/zipline. There are lovely gardens to walk around in and it is nice to see the river and surrounding rocky hills.

The stay was very good. The rooms were good and comfortable. However, there were no eating facilities in the rooms, and we had to eat from paper plates with plastic cutlery that they provided us. We booked at 'self catering' places everywhere, but there was no cutlery available.

We had a wonderful time. There was so much to do. We spent 2 nights in a self-catering unit and 1 in a tent. The tent was our favorite, but for a longer stay, it would have been a little cramped with 4 of us. The pools are lovely. The children enjoyed fishing and rowing in boats. The grounds are beautiful. The grounds staff were so friendly and helpful. The restaurant is expensive, but everything in Oudtshoorn is pricey. We could not have asked for a better stay.
We really enjoyed the pool and aircon in the tent with the 39 degree heat we experienced in Oudtshoorn.

This is an old school family-oriented resort that evokes nostalgia of family trips as a child. It has everything the adventurous child would like: trampolines, pools, play areas, and so many different animals to look at. We got takeaways from the restaurant; the meals were generous and delicious. The self-catering accommodation was well-stocked, clean, and comfortable. My only gripe is that the WiFi was unusable and there is no signal in the valley.

Great location close to Cango Caves and Cango Wildlife Ranch. Lots for kids of all ages to do. Family-run business and the owners were very attentive to any issues we had. The rooms are more rustic than a normal hotel, but set in beautiful lush gardens with lots of access to outside space and activities. It is a great place for families with kids.
Room was very good. The food was just overpriced and of low quality.
We stayed one night in the family river unit. The bathroom is between the two bedrooms, which completely cuts off bedroom number 2 from the unit if someone is in the bathroom. There was enough hot water for one person to shower in the evening and the next morning the water was only lukewarm. The TV didn't have a single working channel and the mattresses in both rooms were a bit worn. The location is good and the view very nice, but unfortunately it did not make up for the bad experience.
It was ideal to hang out on the dam. The cooling from the air conditioner in the heat was refreshing.
Chalets are very comfortable, clean and tidy. We were 4 adults, bedding not complete. When we reported it, nothing was done about it. Had a lot of problems with the WiFi. Other than that very calm and enjoyed it!

A beautiful and well-maintained resort. We had a very relaxing stay. En route to the Cango Caves and Wildlife Conservation. The unit was equipped with everything we needed. Staff were helpful.
Our stay was pleasant and relaxing. We had a pool right in front of our suite, so that was convenient for watching the kids while they swam. The only problem I had was cockroaches, specifically in the kitchen, even after requesting the insecticide it did not help much. Perhaps they should think of fumigating that unit.

I ordered pizza from the restaurant but could only eat two pieces. It was incredibly bad and I suggest they take the option off the menu. My husband also tried and stopped eating. He had the ostrich burger and was quite satisfied. It is a very beautiful setting and beautiful gardens. Family friendly. No milk for coffee, just Cremora.
We had a very nice stay at Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant. It is a picture-perfect place. All complaints would be that the WiFi was very bad at our tent and that the service at the restaurant was not good. At times there was no one to receive a person and the food took a very long time.

We had a very nice stay. The luxury tent was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning in the tent made a big difference, especially later in the evening when it started to get cold by the water. The restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful, but it was really expensive.
The accommodation was very good and comfortable. However, the buffet breakfast was extremely disappointing and not value for money. The hot items were cold and the plate cookies that were served had clearly been made the day before. We will stay there again, but for sure not eat breakfast there again. The Google Maps directions provided by the website are also wrong and took us to the wrong destination. It should please be corrected.

We had a nice stay. The hike up to the hill was one of the most difficult hikes we have ever undertaken.
Place was neat and clean. Shower head was very broken. Water gushed out above. There was no WiFi or cell phone signal at block D where we slept.
Surroundings are beautiful, play area for children bonus. Room was not clean, cobwebs next to the bed, ants in the bed with bits of food in the bed that were not cleaned from previous guests, at least staff were kind to come to bed clean later that evening, but that was a disappointment to see services there have deteriorated.
It was difficult to pull a heavy suitcase up the hump to the tent, but the location is lovely and the tent very well appointed.
Beautiful setting, peaceful and tranquil. The person at reception was friendly but seemed to be preoccupied and was a bit abrupt. My 3-year-old son and his 4-year-old cousin both cut their legs on a broken concrete bench that had wire and sharp concrete edges exposed. The bench was on the grass outside our waterfront cottage. I reported this, but no feedback was given, and the bench was not removed or covered, etc., which remains very dangerous. I also found the kitchen sink tap to be loose with hardly any water running from it. The main bedroom basin and shower drains in the bathroom were blocked too. These were unblocked immediately when I reported, but the kitchen sink remained unrepaired by the time we left with no feedback given. We could not do the bass fishing on site as all the fishing rods were out of service. My son was quite upset by this.
We had a great time, the area and surroundings are very beautiful. There is a nice playground for the children and plenty of space to walk. The unit we stayed in could be upgraded, and the place should please. just make sure everything works. The toaster did not work and there were only 2 steak knives in the unit, and the fridge is a small bar fridge. If one were to stay longer than 2 days, the fridge's space is a big problem.

It is a beautiful location. Everything comfortable, only the staff is very unhelpful and unfriendly. The bath mats are old, but that doesn't matter either if you have friendly staff.
We weren't advised of the main gate being locked at 21:00 pm at night or handed a remote for the gate. Luckily, another guest came to the gate at the time and could open it from the inside. There are no lamps to use in the bathroom during load shedding. The outside shower also doesn't have space to pack shampoo, conditioner, etc.
The tent reeked of raw sewrage. We tried to spend as little time in the accomodation as possible. The drains were terribly blocked. The towel fixtures were broken. And even after the unit was cleaned, nothing was done about it. The staff were okay - they seemed to have been preoccupied with something else during check in, so check in was a bit rushed. On enquiring about the braai facilities, we were explicitly told there's no braai areas near the fishing dam - I wanted to braai and fish. When we went to the dam, alas - we were pleasentaly surprised with a braai-stand next to the dam. Weird. My wife and I were second in line for check out, behind another couple - when they and us handed the keys over, no words were exchanged by staff - it was very clinical. Both us and them were a bit confused by the lack of interaction. . We went down the road to another 4 star resort and saw what 4 star actually meant in Oudtshoorn. . It was not all doom and gloom - the premises was quite pretty and quaint. The facilities in the pics matched expectations. We made the most of the resort. Although the staff were a bit rushed, they were still friendly. All in all - there's really a few things that needs to be improved on - sort out the plumbing and the horrid stench. Train staff to be a bit more clued up on the facilities and a bit more hospitable. Get some more lighting in the units.
The place is definitely not 4 star. It needs an upgrade and the manager could be nicer and more hospitable. The restaurant is also not up to standard at all.
The duty manager was very unhelpful, and there was zero WiFi coverage.
Cottages not for families. Bedside lights outside working and aircons too small for the size of the rooms as well as dirty inside. Not notified of load shedding times so couldn't plan ahead (there is no power during load shedding). No TV channels for children. Poor customer service. Rooms with gas geysers are impractical, water is either hot or cold.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The kids enjoyed interacting with the animals. The staff were super friendly and assisted us even when we arrived late. The property is well maintained, making time spent outdoors pleasant. The location is central to all tourist attractions. The coverage of the WiFi was not great, and with there being no cell phone reception, this is the only way to communicate with family and friends. But luckily for us, we were on holiday so it was not a big deal.
Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant is a lovely place to stay. It's great to also have the Kango caves and Karusa close by and also other places to travel around. The pizza is top shelf and the facilities are very well appointed.

What a wonderful place to experience God's nature. It was so nice to be surrounded by mountains and trees. This place is soothing for the soul. Very neat and beautiful. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed every moment. The Wi-Fi did not always work, but it really didn't bother us because we understood it is because of all the mountains.
Very good value for money, was just a little annoying that the fridge gave problems with water constantly running out, but everything is fine.

Overnight in the unit River Mountain View Room. It's attached to the main house, but private and didn't even know we had neighbors. Room has everything you need for a short visit (it's not self-catering, there is a small fridge and coffee-making facilities). Had a great meal at the restaurant, also walked up the jeep track, it's about a climb, but is rewarded with an incredible view over Oudtshoorn and the Swartberge.
Couldn't have chosen a better place to stay for our short break. Nature and mountains incredible, place quiet and peaceful. Spacious room with bathroom, coffee corner with microwave oven and small fridge as well as cutlery for 2 was a surprise. Will definitely return again!

The heavenly location and the service are just out of this world. Old Mill Lodge has tons to do for the kids and is close to Oudtshoorn and to the Cango Caves. The location on the river feels like a real getaway. Can't recommend it enough.
Neat and food at restuarant was delicious.
Our room was on the dam. On the wooden deck we could watch finches nesting and bass jumping out of the water. We ate lamb chops and pumpkin cookies that were perfectly prepared. The staff are genuinely friendly and caring. The whole Lodge is perfect for people with children too.

Such a peaceful place with all the animal children and the nature is breathtakingly beautiful. Oh and then we made friends with the cutest old woof who came to visit us morning and night, we just called her old Bear. Miss her a lot. It's a place we will definitely visit again.

Very restful clean accommodation nestled in the Swartberg Mountain Range - close to all amenities to do shopping in the town of Oudtshoorn or sightseeing with the Cango Caves just up the road.

Old Mill is a working farm, the grounds/gardens of all the units are so well looked after. The farm is picturesque with the river flowing through it. There is also a pond with many walking trails and a nice play area for the children with ponies and bunnies. The staff is very well trained and everything is very well organized from check-in to the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was top quality!

A hidden gem that lies on a bend towards the Kango Caves, tucked away by a Higher Hand in a loop of one of the Swartbergkloof valleys with soothing bickering cold but crystal clear river water. Golden sun rays dancing over a medium grungy farm pond with yellow finches singing from your deck and a fresh breeze that makes your lungs breathe, what a heavenly tranquility. The restaurant caters mostly for the higher income and foreign tourist palette with a court of tastes and ostrich cuisine. Weddings and family or friends get together functions such as special birthdays, anniversary events will find their salvation here and be able to fully live out the goal. A beautiful farm atmosphere embroidered in natural beauty and very friendly and helpful staff. Renier and breakfast managers' hospitality was 5 star! Thanks and appreciation to the owner Old Mill Lodge for the kindness, flexibility, patience and willingness to make this gem also affordable for the SA Armed Forces senior staff corps' use even though the price range is aimed at tourism. Hold up Schoemanspoort and Oudtshoorn's name and let the flag fly proudly! Would like to introduce my spouses to the beautiful scenery and treat them there in a few months during the dawn of my retirement years.

It's a lovely place in a beautiful setting. Our accommodation was fantastic and modern. The TV only has one DStv channel. We could really enjoy the TV. The restaurant's food was up to standard, but could also be better. Other than that it was a good experience.

Old Mill is very well situated in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The veranda and barbecue facilities are a bonus.
The photo gives the impression of being alone on a large pond, but in reality you are right at the entrance with people and children around you. The ostrich camp right behind our unit caused a smell in the mornings and evenings that made you flee inside. Everything in the photo is a reality and it is not Old Mill Lodge's fault that what we wanted and what the reality was are not the same.
During our stay, they cleaned our rooms, changed towels, filled the bottles with sparkling water as they are using borehole water for flushing and washing. Old Mill is also ideal for a group of friends or family who is looking for an ideal place for a peaceful getaway. Beautiful with neat surroundings.
We had to visit Oudtshoorn for two days and because of the Old Mill Lodge's nice discount, I decided on them. It was well worth the money, the unit was very well equipped, clean and everything in its place and the resort is picture perfect. Eyes at the restaurant were first class. Would stay there again anytime.
We visited with family and friends. Both the chalet and tent were very comfortable and tidy. Of course, we would have preferred to have at least a small microwave in the tent as well, for light breakfasts or meals. The restaurant is not always affordable for everyone.
We were disappointed in the unit: lack of maintenance. The copper wires of the electric blanket were exposed, the curtain rails were loose, the lamp was hanging askew, as well as other fittings. There was no mosquito spray as promised, which is a necessity as there are no mosquito screens.

We are from this area and were looking for a place to stay for one night at a reasonable price. Old Mill did not disappoint.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room is very neat and clean. It is a beautiful farm and the atmosphere is excellent. My only criticism is the "Cape Malay Bobotie" that I ordered for dinner in the restaurant. It was tasteless and I did not enjoy it. ("Cape Malay Bobotie" is usually very tasty and is served with yellow rice. Mine was served with white rice).
We stayed at the Old Mill Lodge as a quick stopover while visiting Oudtshoorn. The accommodation was clean and of good quality, and the dinner we had at the restaurant was excellent. The king suite was a tad smaller than expected. Whilst it was acceptable for the 60% discounted rate we paid, I do not think it would be worth the normal full rate.
Convenient location, friendly service, just had trouble with toilet not flushing properly and reported it but was not fixed.

We enjoyed our stay with friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation, and plenty to keep the kids entertained. There were animals, a playpark, paddle boats, swimming pools, braai, and picnic facilities.
Kids loved rowing the canoe and running on the beautifully cut lawn. We by mistake left a charger in the room, and the manager phoned us a few minutes after we left to inform us, which meant the cleaning staff were on the ball. The restaurant had good food too.

The lodge is located in a beautiful valley and the 14 km to Oudsthoorn was conveniently close. Very close to the Kango caves. Beautiful gardens and lots of feels. Would highly recommend.
Beautiful surroundings but would suggest a better insect repellent as it was not enjoyable trying to sleep and mosquitoes wake you up. A light sheet with the duvet would also be better than just a duvet. Otherwise, the place was clean and the host was helpful and friendly.

Friendly staff. We booked D1, 2, 3 and by the time we woke up @ 7 am there was no hot water. It was the 2nd time accommodated at Old Mill but there is a little difference, not sure if new management, staff or season the reason. Not impressed like before.
The load shedding in Oudtshoorn was sometimes 4 hours long and then the air conditioning did not work and so the evenings were sometimes very hot.

Fridge in room didn't work! Please give your other staff more money per week. R300-400 per week is too little. Your guests are mostly overseas guests, you can afford it.
Service was great. Braai facilities were just a bit far from accommodation. Braai facilities far from sleeping place. Otherwise if price is right we will come again soon. In continuation, you can only make guests who check in aware of attractions and extras that are included in the price.

Unfortunately, the management at Old Mill Lodge did not assign us the unit we booked. We booked the "Luxury Waterfront Self Cater Family unit - 4 adults & 2 children under 12 sleeper couch" but were booked into block C which is probably one of the "Luxury/Self-cater Family unit - 4 adults & 2 children under 12 on sleeper couch" units are. As a result we didn't have the privacy we assumed we would have. It took me a few hours to figure out if I made the mistake or not - I had to go back to the booking emails. Furthermore, the guests in the unit next to us parked their car right in front of our porch and braai area, I assume with permission. Although the Lodge itself is pleasant and lovely to stay with pets, we were very disappointed not to get the unit we booked and paid for. Finally, the visit to the ostrich farm was never offered to us.
The hike route was interesting and a bit exhausting, but has a nice view when you get to the top.

The water in our place smelled fishy. Residue clearly visible in bath water as if pumped directly from pond.
The toilet was for a child and the bathroom was small. So small that the wash basin was in the main area away from the bathroom. We had two coffee packets and dried milk. The breakfast, I am sure, was nice but at R170, I gave it a miss and went early to Cango caves for breakfast. The evening meal was similarly priced. For what I paid to stay, I was happy.
I did not enjoy the host's attitude, got the feeling that he does not like South African guests. Breakfast was outrageously expensive and didn't look very promising.
The area is beautiful and the facility is up to standard. We spent our first night fighting off a squirrel who kept entering through a hole in the tent. Management moved us to a different self-catering chalet which was beautiful, and we were able to get a good night's rest, but the kitchen was filled with cockroaches.
I don't want this to be published because I feel that if you can't say something nice don't say it. The location and the room were gorgeous. We researched them on the internet before we made a booking through yourselves and found their website https://oldmillgardenroute. co. za/ The big banner across the site saying that they don't experience loadshedding because they have a fully equipped electricity generator sold us. Of course, when we arrived there was loadshedding and we then found out that they only put it on sometimes. So there we had to sit in the dark. We were not impressed. The shower was shockingly bad - the rose is higher than the side glass panels and sprayed water all over the bathroom - it mad esuch a mess and everything was wet. We also could not get the temperature modulated. It seems we had scorching hot water or ice cold - nothing inbetween. It was really dreadful. I nearly fell slipping on the tiles that were covered in water and it was just a nightmare. We eventually had very short very cold showers. Out of all the places we stayed at this was probably the one with the nicest view, nicest accommodation but the most dreadful experience. We also woke up the next morning to a flat tire which is hardly their fault but was just the cherry.
The location was good. I didn't expect to have such a bad WiFi signal. There was no housekeeping; we had left for the day and returned to the same room we departed from. There was rubbish in the bins from previous stays, so I would assume the room was not ready for us. The fridge was a mini fridge, which was not stipulated.
If the original price is almost R2000, then it is shocking. View not at all what was expected. Basic cutlery, not even a knife to spread bread or a surface. Small table outside on the porch. Bathroom door needs a strongman to push it shut. Toilet was stuck and had trouble getting it off, paper then stays behind on toilet. Sink for brushing teeth and washing your dishes are the same. Even at a campsite you have a basin in your ablution and a basin for washing up. Neighbors were awake until 4:00 in the morning and we heard them all the time and the room on the side had children. For a getaway very disappointing. Car not covered either.
Definitely not for you if you have kids younger than 4. We stayed in the luxury riverview tent. Not a single utensil, no spoons, forks or knives. No microwave, that's a first. Nothing luxurious here! It's as if they want you to eat at the restaurant (not want, I meant force, you to eat at the restaurant). And don't think about taking your food back for your kids because there's no microwave so you are only allowed to eat cold food. We met two ladies who stayed in the mountain view tent, stay away, the walk there could give you a heart attack is what I thought as I watched countless people stumble to their tents with sad faces. Not kid-friendly if you have kids under 3, in general, everywhere it's risky. My suggestion, get a golf cart or two to assist with elderly and sick people with distances and bad routes to tents (especially those with sicknesses you can't see).
It's the perfect place for families with or without children. The restaurant's food is out of the books and the staff are friendly and professional. Thank you Old Mill, we hope to see you again soon!

A wonderful stay. So much open space for my 1-year-old to run. Kid- and pet-friendly. I was worried about the older kids terrorising the poor guinea pigs.

We really rested and relaxed! The facilities were painstakingly neat and clean and the staff on site were friendly and helpful. We regretted the only 2 nights we could stay, but we will definitely be there again soon!
We had dinner in the restaurant which was a lovely experience, had the Eland Fillet which was absolutely delicious.
My Girlfriend and I were amazed at the fairy tale Honey moon Cabin and then literally 50 steps from the dining hall and reception. Was a breathtaking experience. Sunrise and sunset were volumes to write.
I would have liked it if the barbecue area was closer in the tents and not so far away.
We couldn't have chosen a better place. My son (1 year and a half) really enjoyed it. When we arrived, there were two special guests waiting for us (the two brown dogs). They are so friendly. My son almost pushed them and almost lay on top of them. I highly recommend it especially for families with children. It's clean and very safe.

I booked one of the Mountain cabins. It was very private and nice. Hardly a Tent, more like a proper cabin, with an outside shower and an inside bath, with lovely views up the mountain and down to the pool area. Wifi worked perfectly and food was great, so all good.
We had great service from Renier and Ruben, who respectively booked us in and waited on us in the restaurant. The room is spotless, well furnished and equipped. We wished we could have stayed longer. Our meal at the restaurant was outstanding, well prepared and beautifully presented.

The stay was wonderful, we enjoyed it. Stayed in the luxury tent and this is the unit has a TV and air conditioning in it. It is private and has a pool for the hot days. It is always hot in Oudtshoorn. The place is located between the Cango Caves and Cango Wildlife Ranch which makes it very easy. You also get free aflsag at the ostrich farm because you book through the Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant.

It is a very nice and peaceful guest house. It actually deserves to stay a little longer. The staff were very professional and made an effort to make it comfortable for us. The apartment was very neat and clean. The grounds are large and even if the place were fully booked you would not notice it.
The staff are helpful and friendly and accompany you to your stay to make sure everything is to your liking and you are satisfied. We will definitely stay there again.

Bunnies and other animals were our babysitters all weekend. Children were busy and happy from sun up to sun down. Very close to so many tourist attractions! Kangaroo caves and Elephant feeding, ostrich farms etc. WiFi is good enough for sending and receiving basic messages. Everything is clean. Staff is friendly.

It was our second time at Old Mill, the place is ideal and close to everything. It is very comfortable and clean, and the prices are reasonable. We prefer Old Mill as accommodation when we holiday in Oudtshoorn.

We had our grandchild of 3 together. We slept well and had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. We will definitely stay there again. It is safe and ample parking, we towed a stroller. We could unhook the wagon and visit the Cango caves and also ostrich farms. The wagon was safe and untouched.

Not self-catering lodges should be marked more clearly, on the websites. The place was perfect even if we had a lodge that had no self-catering, which I think can be better advertised to say that the lodge is not self-catering, but other than that, staff very friendly and helpful. My 2 daughters loved the bunny park, if you want to get away from your busy city life, take the drive to Old Mill Lodge, you will not be disappointed. Definitely coming back again in the future perhaps but in a self-catering lodge.
Accommodation was clean and beautiful. Kids had an absolute brilliant time running around in a safe environment. Views were spectacular and the lodge is close to all the tourist attractions. This was a good family holiday. Thank you!
Old Mill is situated just outside Oudtshoorn at the foot of the Swartberg a few km's from the infamous Cango Caves. The venue is well kept, with a wonderful restaurant onsite. You can also do fishing at the little lake that they have, and they have some rabbits that you can interact with. Its a stunning venue and the service was great.
We will stay here in a heartbeat again if the opportunity arises. Hopefully with the grandchildren.
From arrival to departure we felt welcome, the accommodation and of course the food at the restaurant was delicious. The friendliness of the staff was remarkable.

My little wife and I planned and looked forward to a relaxing weekend getaway and that's exactly what we got. We decided from the beginning to take care of ourselves, because that was the purpose of our getaway after all. To enjoy each other's company just a little away from everything. Although we were not booked in a self-catering unit, we obtained permission to take our own small braai and gas braai with us. It was wonderful to be able to barbecue just like that on the grass behind our apartment and visit in the tranquility of the Lodge. When we go to Oudtshoorn, Old Mill is the first choice for accommodation. Have stayed there quite a few times and every time has been positive.
We stayed for 3 nights over the Easter weekend and really enjoyed it. Great location with lots to do for kids and to explore the beautiful grounds. Old Mill Restaurant also recommended.

The tents have air conditioning, which helped tremendously in the hot weather. We were able to cool off in the pool upon arrival. There was a nice playground for the children. We had a barbecue in the evening on the premises. There is also a restaurant that you can use. You can also get free clean water there for drinking.

If I may make a suggestion: put microwaves in unit to heat food as there are no cooking facilities.
The air conditioning in the units was a saving grace on a sweltering day when the temperature was 42.5 degrees. The meals in the restaurant were excellent and the staff very friendly. We will definitely stay there again.
There are more than enough activities for small children to do. Ideal destination for families. Only take large water bottles with you otherwise you will have to walk all the time for water. Just be careful with the river cottages' deck. We had to warn our 4 year old a lot to stay away from it so as not to fall into the pond.

Surrounded by the most beautiful scenery, animals and open spaces. Self-catering units are fully equipped and we always stay longer than we initially plan. The farm dogs are always a great pleasure for us and the swimming pools a welcome relief in the heat. Unfortunately, one air conditioner gave problems in the heat. We hope it can be repaired before we visit again. The accommodation and premises are truly excellent and are definitely recommended for a peaceful break to refresh the soul.

The rooms are situated in the most beautiful valley and have a stunning charm. The facilities are very well kept, even the grass is manicured with the rest of the plants. The Old Mill is a large facility with various room types spread out over the beautiful grounds. The venue is close to the Cango Caves. The rooms are very clean and provide all you require, including a bar fridge. Our only suggestion is to have a mirror above the basin as it was rather difficult for my husband to shave. We didn't use the restaurant but would should we pass through again.

We were close to all the main attractions in the area and even received a discount voucher for the ostrich show farm. There is little to no reception but we made use of the Wi-Fi.

We visited Old Mill Lodge 2 years ago and just had to stop by again. It's a beautiful, neat place that offers a lot for small children with the cute animals and nice play area. The swimming pool is of course also a plus in the summer months. All negative comments are the photos. It's confusing and doesn't do the beautiful units justice at all. They will definitely attract more customers by improving it, because it is hard to see in the pictures what you book.
Only thing is on the paper we received once we arrived. It stated that we must check that everything is working when we are in the cottage. That is something that shouldn't be required. It makes more sense that the establishment checks that beforehand.
We enjoyed being surrounded with nature and proximity to wild animals. Children enjoyed the activities on the farm.
The restaurant was very good and well worth a visit. Will stay there again.

Just find the restaurant's menu is very limited and expensive for what you get. They can easily prepare a more comfortable menu, you are there to relax and do not want to choose such a five star menu at lunch and some dinners. Not all the guests are venison eaters either. The breakfast's prices are also exorbitant, feel free to include the buffet breakfast in their prices if you book it that way, or offer a comfortable breakfast choice at the restaurant for cheaper. Just drove into Oudtshoorn to have breakfast there. Otherwise we can't complain about the stay, enjoyed it a lot.
Tranquil setting with green lawns, trees, lavender surrounding our lodge. A river running next to us and a playground that the kids loved! Be prepared for loadshedding as we did not know the schedule but after 1 hour a generator kicked in which was great.
The unit on the dam is well equipped with a beautiful view. The quality of food in the restaurant was unfortunately disappointing. We will stay in the resort again but not eat in the restaurant.

Unfortunately very poor wifi, no flashlights or even candles in the cottage during loadshedding - pitch black. If it weren't for our cell phones, we would have no light. We were also not informed of the load shedding schedule upon arrival. Also had to ask for the ostrich farm's complimentary ticket - otherwise we certainly wouldn't have received it.
The visit was too short to fully enjoy the farm. Want to experience it right next time. Thanks to the team.
For a 4 star badge, their breakfast is nowhere near that. The breakfast is not equal to the sky high price you have to pay. Plates are only a little bigger than a saucer, no bacon, sausages and no eggs, it's just said they cook eggs again, if you get up from your table then they give the eggs to other guests, one lady was like that angry, she went 3 times then they said she was just too late. They also don't ask how you like your eggs (soft or hard) everything is just baked jelly soft, very runny and tasteless, my wife and I will never eat breakfast there again and at such a hefty price.

The photos made the cabin look secluded and private, it did not show that there were multiple other units close by. The cabin was not equipped for self-catering, which was not clear on the description.

Check in was quick with a full information sheet. Ruben took us to our tent and explained everything. The gardens are exceptionally beautiful and well maintained. Dinner was promptly served with food that looked temptingly delicious and was very tasty. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Since the lodge is located in a mountain basin, this makes the WiFi reception very intermittent.

The facilities were clean and tidy and our unit was cleaned every day. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Oudtshoorn. I would suggest that guests are informed just ahead of time that the tap water is not potable. Although drinking water is provided by the Lodge.

Internet a problem. Paid double in the restaurant due to internet signal but was refunded in cash. Unfortunately arrived too late and had to leave early again. Actually have to stay 2 days to give a real report.
If I visit the Old Mill Lodge again I will have to prepare better now that I know that there is not everything that is expected of self-catering. We asked for cutlery and got it, just uncomfortable going to bed with dirty plates as there is no washing up area either. Other than that we had a great stay and my child (and my husband and I) thoroughly enjoyed the bunnies - for sure a highlight during our time at Old Mill Lodge.

Room was very nice but expected "self catering". We could barbecue but had to get utensils from a restaurant. The advertised price on the web before the 60% discount will be completely overpriced. It was "on par" with the R800 cost. Area is very beautiful and the site has a very peaceful atmosphere. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We would stay there again.
We did not get to see much of the facilities and what Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant offered during our stay due to the nature of our visit. Maybe we booked the wrong unit, but I would have liked to have microwave in our room to heat up food since we arrived late at the lodge and left early.
Everything was good, but the bed in D3 is hollow and you roll towards the middle, making it difficult to sleep like that. Can also put more than 1 coffee in the room.
The place is well equipped. If we had known that there was a braai at each unit we would have enjoyed a braai. You can stay a week or more - all the amenities are there. Very clean and tidy. There is no mobile reception. There is also no place to hang towels.
WiFi does not work - contact "service provider". Geyser faulty - cold water. Also nice clean and tidy. Not again.
Positive: The accommodation was comfortable, safe and well appointed and there was plenty to do near the property and also on site for small children. The property is set up for load shedding. Negative: However, the general customer service from the reception / reservations department was not 100% what I expected and could be improved upon. I took it up with the property and the website. However, I only received feedback from the agent via e-mail about it. The reception department was not available early in the morning and a radio was placed for guests to call staff, but with no answer. The water was off when we arrived, but Annika showed us our tent room and explained the problem. She was very helpful. The Wifi was down every now and then and didn't work constantly. There is also no cell phone reception, so be aware of that.

The stay was nice. Unfortunately, the shower head was so broken that water sprayed everywhere!! Bed was not very comfortable, couldnt sleep in the bed next to hubby as the springs were worn and I kept having to roll to the middle to stay in bed. The food was amaising. The photo that I chose from on the site to book was not what we got. I booked the tent with a bath and this only had a shower.

The tents are not self-catering so one is kind of forced to eat at the restaurant which besides the lovely servers was really not good and very expensive. The food and drinks options are limited and we sent some of our food back because it was really just bad - the manager was gracious in accepting this and did not bill us for the food that was sent back. So although the tent was a really cool spot to stay, I would suggest rather booking a self-catering option.

Certainly wasn't 4 stars, I am not sure where they were awarded those from. The food was terrible. Mushy vegetables in a bechamel that smelt sour, lamb chops basted in a "spur" like sauce. Selection of wine limited and relatively unknown. Bedlinen and blankets extremely well worn and shabby. Although clean, the rooms smelt of cheap disinfectant. There was a diffuser in the cupboard, but no hair dryer. Decor in the dining room dated and mismatched. This place has so much potential, it just needs a little care.
Really not value for money. The bathroom in the unit is poorly planned and not at all user friendly. The coffee and tea station in the unit can be enjoyed more aadag. Will definitely think twice before booking here again.
Christo and his team went out of their way to come to our rescue when our vehicle was damaged on the way. Within moments we were picked up where we were stranded and taken safely to the Lodge. Thank you very much for such finominal heart people.

The whole area is surrounded by mountains. There are lush green lawns everywhere. The stream was also beautiful that flowed past our tent. The tent inside is equipped like a 5 star hotel.

Old Mill is perfect, the unit was clean, tidy, AC, room service, and the whole place is so well and neatly maintained. The restaurant is fantastic, from the food, the atmosphere, to the staff, especially Ruben was an absolute star. Food is tasty, wonderfully prepared, pleasing to the eye and tongue. The prices are not high at all for that type of quality. We would stay there again anytime.

Tent is big and has a lot of space. We enjoyed it very much.
We had a very nice stay. We have a 2.9 year old and a 5 month old baby. Everything was well appointed. Our toddler really enjoyed it and there was a lot for him to do. We had a luxury safari tent with a mountain view and it was very neat and beautiful. The TV could have better reception up there, but it is not really necessary as there are many things to do than watch TV.
The kindness and helpfulness of Costas, George and Maria made the weekend really enjoyable. Can recommend Old Mill with confidence.

We only booked for 2 days but next time will book a self-catering unit for longer.

Old Mill Lodge is beautiful, quiet, tranquil setup. Our child loved running around and interacting with the animals. As you need to drive about 12 km into town, it would be good if the establishment could have a small store on the grounds where you can buy snacks/braai essentials etc so you do not have to drive out. Also, it would be a good idea if a small kiddies pool facility could be build for the little ones that cannot swim yet.

The only problem we experienced at tent 6 was that the bathtub's plug did not seal well and that all the water you put in runs out again. The TV's channels didn't work properly either, but that might be a weak signal issue.
It is unfortunately not well equipped and cannot be seen as self-catering. No cooking facilities.

The Luxury Waterfront unit was not what we expected it to be. We booked it at a reduced rate, but I certainly wouldn't pay the normal price for it. The restaurant is excellent, the staff very friendly and the surroundings beautiful.

We had an enjoyable stay. Kids loved bunnies and zipline. Unfortunately the braai for the family cottage isn't on the deck which makes it difficult. Shower has zero water pressure, and they need to equip the apartment with a broom/dustpan and brush, drying and cleaning cloths. Other than that it was great.

We asked to check in early as we were attending a wedding. The request was accommodated, but we still had to wait for rooms. Also, the place didn't have enough remote controls for everyone and we had to share among ourselves. If we didn't get 50% off, it wouldn't have been really worth it. The rooms were very clean.

Our room only had room for 3 people while we were 4 guests. Restaurant is terribly expensive, but there is a lovely playground for children and the room was nice and clean.

We can recommend Old Mill Lodge to anyone who loves nature and just wants to recharge the batteries. But I would recommend that they do look at cleanliness in rooms. The ceiling fans were very dirty and at the headboard of the bed as well.

We were received very hospitably and the unit was very clean, but unfortunately we didn't have hot water to take a shower the next morning (in winter). It was not pleasant.
Do not market the room as a family room, the shower was inside the room and no privacy. The sofa bed was very small and definitely not suitable for two children.
We stayed in Luxury Riverside Cottage and it was very neat and comfortable for us as a family. All the activities with an on-site restaurant are a winning recipe for sure. Next time we might stay 2 nights instead of just the 1 night!
There is not a great variety on the restaurant's menu and the options that were available were not value for money either. Although the sleeping place was tidy, there was no milk for coffee or the tea, only cremora. For a 4 star, I would have expected more. The wall plugs in the room had trouble working, as soon as you touch the cord, the bedside lights go off. The children's play area is also not safe with the river bordering it. The toys are also old. We stayed at other places that didn't have a "rating" that were much better. I will not simply visit Old Mill again.
Food at the restaurant was simple and there were no additional options for protein where there was no bacon or ham.
Everything but worth the money. The honeymoon suite is also in a storage building. There were no services all long weekend. We only put up the Saturday No Service sign. By Sunday we had to plan ourselves to throw out our garbage in a bag and had to ask for more toilet paper. The vegetation grows wild and unstructured in front of our porch that hangs over the water. The water is barely visible. Everything at this accommodation revolves around the restaurant. Had a great meal there.
Exceeded all expectations. We stayed in two luxury tents with a mountain view and will never forget it. A must stay if you are going on holiday or overnight in Oudtshoorn.

We love Old Mill Lodge. This was our second time. First time was in a tent and the time in a house. Everything was clean, tidy, everything we needed. The view is so beautiful, the farm dogs are so friendly and came to greet us early in the morning too. Absolutely loved the breakfast. The breakfast is absolutely delicious and a lot of effort is put into it. Next time we come again for longer.

The getaway was just what we needed. The Old Mill Lodge has something to keep the whole family busy from walking trails to feeding bunnies. Due to the lockdown, there was still a lot of space, but it didn't bother us much. Their service is fantastic and they don't hesitate to help with anything. We spent our few days resting, barbecuing and enjoying the beautiful nature around us. I would recommend them to anyone.

Located in the most beautiful valley in Schoemanspoort. The whole lodge is incredibly neat. Was advertised as B&B, but breakfast was excluded on arrival. Later it was corrected.

The Lodge is well located for people wanting to explore the area, although there is plenty to do on site (especially for children). The Rust & Vrede waterfall is beautiful. Wilgewandel is a nice place for smaller children. Die Hel can be visited in a day as well as Prince Albert via the breathtaking Swartberg Pass. The hiking trail on the farm is for fit people who are prepared to walk the steep uphill. Beautiful and peaceful surroundings.

Will definitely maintain and upgrade the children's play area, everything is broken where the children have to play. Short of more attention, if the children can play well, the parents can rest easy. Beautifully located between the mountains and the green scenery is breathtaking with lots to do. The dogs that follow you everywhere and just look for a little attention give the place even more personality. Arrange an incredible experience.
The tent was up the mountain and it was difficult for us to get up there, thought it was at ground level.
The staff were good, I can't complain about them. Very helpful and friendly people. The water pressure was very weak. The shower will run strong and then just stop and then start again. The water didn't stay warm for very long either, it seems to me that they only use solar energy. The rooms were mediocre but only a kettle and no microwave, we had to use the restaurant.
Person on duty does not introduce himself on arrival. The dinner at the restaurant was disappointing as the sirloin cuts were poor. One was still cold inside and raw instead of medium and the other was the stringy end of the sirloin half of which was inedibly stringy. The manager apparently "mentioned" it to the chef. At the price of the food and wine we had to make other plans to eat before heading back for the night.
Stayed at the lodge for one night. The place is located in a beautiful environment. The food we got was unfortunately not up to standard. Expected more from a 4 star lodge.
We canceled one night and pretty much had to threaten to get our money back. Location was beautiful and so was farm, but felt it was way too expensive for what you get! Coffee was not even replaced.
Surrounded by the most beautiful nature and mountains. Safe, friendly, pool and gardens tidy. My little girl had a blast with the animals, especially the bunnies. Didn't know about her. For young kids it's great fun, my son caught bass, pond just needs a little attention with long grass. We stayed in the unit by the river just in front of the tents. The unit is definitely not 4 star, needs attention, reception let me know. You may just have to follow up with cleaners, especially your fridge and crockery, everything we used we had to wash first. Maybe give the kitchen a good scrub every now and then. Will come back again as there is so much to do, especially the kids enjoyed it.

It's beautiful at Old Mill Lodge and our family thoroughly enjoyed it. There is plenty to keep the little team busy and it is centrally located between the Kango Caves and Cango Wildlife Ranch/Oudtshoorn town. The buffet breakfast was delicious and the lunch/dinner at the restaurant was fantastic.
The accommodation was lovely. The restaurant is not great, but at least better than Spur.
Old Mill was well located for us as the Cango Caves were high on our list. Also wanted to sleep outside the town. The luxury tents were well appointed and could easily fit 4 people. We played and fed animals. The food was world class.

Accommodation was easy to access and the GPS took us to the exact place, which was a bit confusing as there are two accommodation facilities on the farm, namely The Old Mill and Die Oude Meul, it is not one and the same place, it is a beautiful farm and we had a great night here, no complaints, everything neat and you feel safe.

It was a fantastic experience. Everyone was friendly and helpful. It was wonderful to see my daughter playing amongst the rabbits and horses without a care in the world.
We ran into a bit of trouble with my husband getting sick and ending up in the hospital. The manager at the lodge had no problem accommodating me for a few extra days. The staff later made me feel like family. The service was exceptional, the location of the lodge in fantastically beautiful surroundings and the restaurants breakfast and dinner were excellent. We would definitely stay there again and can recommend the lodge with great confidence.
Small details make the place a really smart stopover. Everything was well taken care of and we were warmly received. Ostrich feathers on the bedside table and a personal message. Ideal for small children! The air conditioning of the adjoining unit was quite disturbing during the night, but it could not detract from the experience.

We recently stayed at the Old Mill on our way to the Cango Caves and on to Worcester. We arrived at sunset and left by 9.30 and I wish we could have had longer! The accommodation was beautiful and well thought through. The grounds wonderful and the breakfast a feast, I did not want to leave behind. And the staff were the icing on the cake, warm, friendly and helpful in true South African hospitality style. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

Very nice place for families with children or travelers just looking for a place to stay because it is quite centrally located. There is a pond for fishing, rabbit hutches that the kids love and climbing frames. Lawns are grass green and there are also two swimming pools to choose from. Accommodation was very neat and quite modern. Overall impressions were very good and very nice stay.

Beautifully located between mountains. Pond with green lawns, play park for children, walking trails for the fit and porch seating with beautiful views for the elderly. Buffet breakfast is worth the money! Couldn't use the restaurant but it looked very cozy. At the discounted rate it is truly worth it.
Will go there again. Had a great time. Children really enjoyed it with all the animals there and pool and playground were big favourites. Sorry breakfast was not included, but it was delicious every morning. Staff were friendly and helpful. Time without mobile reception was also nice and quiet.

We had a great stay at Old Mill Lodge in a 2 bedroom self-catering apartment. It was well-equipped, clean and comfortable. The kids - age 1 and 3 - loved the playground, pool, rabbits and ponies, as well as all the open green space for running around. This was one of the nicest places we stayed on our holiday.
Nice stay. Could do with a small braai on the patio where one can enjoy a quiet time, a DStv remote so one can see what is on TV instead of just wondering. Great food and good customer service.

We had a comfortable overnight stay in the Riverside Family Cottage. During a cold front, the electric blanket and warm bedding ensured good sleep. Everything we needed for self-catering accommodation was there. Unfortunately couldn't try their restaurant this time.

Staff is friendly. The restaurant's menu is more attuned to the overseas market with all the different game dishes and is a bit on the expensive side. The accommodation is comfortable and the air conditioner was pleasant in the heat.
We really enjoyed the area. We would suggest that they put more than just coffee and soda glasses in the units next to the dam. We didn't even have a plate or a knife. No microwave either. Due to no kitchen facilities, we had to eat somewhere every time.

At the discounted rate of 50% the stay was okay, otherwise it would be to pricey! Unfortunately one of the beds in the second bedroom urgently needs a new mattres!! Otherwise we were happy.
We stayed three nights in one of the waterfront cottages. The view was breathtaking and very peaceful from our porch with the fish swimming in the water right below us. There is even a small canoe that we could have used but never got around to since we had quite a few activities planned in Oudtshoorn. Our cottage was very private with the green plants growing on either side preventing the view to the cottages next door. They also have a clean and very nice swimming pool near the reception area, which we used once when my son wanted to go swimming. Breakfast was not included in our package, but an extra fee could be paid to join the buffet breakfast, which we chose on our last day before we left. It was definitely worth the money and very tasty and delicious. Thanks for an amazing time!

Both the tent and self-catering unit are beautifully and comfortably equipped. The grounds are immaculately maintained and there is plenty of play space for the children. Truly an excellent choice for accommodation. The breakfast was also delicious.
What a pleasant surprise upon arriving at the little place in the mountains that I discovered by chance. The goal was actually only a place to spend the night while we ran the Meiringspoort race. We were pleasantly surprised with the facilities and the peaceful surroundings. It was truly value for money and a place to stay if you really just want to relax.
There was an initial misunderstanding about our payment, but luckily it was quickly sorted out with kindness. Tents are incredibly nice and the bath that looks into the field the highlight!

We received a warm welcome from the reception staff. When he saw that my in-laws were with us he made a plan and moved us to one room so that we could be close to each other. The sleeping places were clean and tidy and everything was explained to us. The dinner was off the top books. I will stay there again.

We stayed in the Luxury Self-catering unit next to the river stream. The place is very cutely furnished with heated sheets and air conditioning to make sure we were cozy in the winter evenings. The TV is only limited channels, but it doesn't really bother because we were mostly outside, regardless of the weather! WiFi available, sometimes erratic but again not necessarily a negative. Our two boys (3 and 6) really enjoyed the bunnies and ponies, and the trick slide and playground too. There were frogs searched on the river bank and a bag full of wet clothes and shoes every day as proof of a lot of fun. Location is ideal for caves, waterfall and Wild Walk visits, but basically everything is available within a 15 km radius. We enjoyed a nice weekend there - the winter offer made it much more affordable.

Old Mill is located just outside Oudsthoorn and is well equipped for the traveler or holidaymaker. It is very versatile with ample play space for children and domestic animals. The restaurant is good value for money and the dishes are well prepared. They speak Afrikaans with a smile. Our room was extremely neat and the service was good.
Clean and everything present but to ‘large scale’, no personal attention. It gives the feeling of a big, unpersonal motel, not like the nice lodges. Not what we were looking for.

We were impressed with nice, tidy place to stay. Attention was given to small things, such as fresh flowers on towels and even toilet roll. Even a bath for a baby. Also had a nice meal in restaurant. Will stay there again, but then longer than 1 night.

The WiFi is definitely not up to standard. Only one or at most 2 dashes. The duvet was very thin and not big enough for the lovely king-size bed. The electric blanket was great as it was bitterly cold at night, but it was only on one side of the bed. However, we still had a great time and the units on the dam were very idyllic. I will definitely go back if my budget allows.
Food in the restaurant was excellent but the service at the restaurant was poor at times. Family luxury waterfront tent was a real treat for our children especially the unit that had a bath! We travelled with our dogs and although they state it as dog friendly the dogs were not allowed to accompany us on walks around the farm and were not allowed to be left alone in the unit. They did accommodate us at the restaurant and allowed our dogs with us on the open deck to enable us to have meals as a family together. There are 2 swimming pools a jungle gym and a canoe that the kids can use on the small dam. But the biggest attraction for our girls was the bunny farm and wild ponies.
Really a very nice place, just a shame the room next door's outdoor unit air conditioner grinds and clatters like an old Lister engine every time the compressor turns on. For people (like me) who sleep a little light, there was but little of "good sleep".
We were informed that due to a double booking we were being upgraded from Old Mill to Oude Meul. The accommodation might have been bigger but the WiFi was not working, the fridge was noisy, our outside door locked and unlocked with difficulty and despite the beautiful surrounds, the unit was not ideally situated. The television was also being controlled by somebody else so channels would change randomly while we were watching TV. We did not complain as we were only staying over for 1 evening. We were on a road trip staying at more than 7 different places and although not horrible, it was still definitely the worst experience of the trip.
Breakfast only served from 8:00. There was a bunch of biathlon kids and they were not willing to serve our breakfast earlier. The restaurant has a very small variety of food.
We had the best time at Old Mill Lodge & Restaurant. I would recommend it to anybody. The rooms are luxurious with everything that you need. The view is beautiful and the food is delicious. The hosts are very friendly.
Pro: Great location, beautiful garden, straight-forward room, but everything you need (great view included), friendly and helpful staff (they even hand-washed my car), great restaurant with one of the best dishes (two times dinner) I had and extensive breakfast buffet (everything fresh and delicious). Con: Fan in bathroom loud, shower needs some more attention (cleanliness) and WiFi down, but they where working on that during our stay. Overall a great place to stay and you must visit the restaurant and have dinner!

We only stayed one night. The surroundings were beautiful and well maintained. There is something for the whole family to do. Our price included breakfast and the whole package was definitely worthwhile and value for money. We would have liked to stay longer. Will definitely stay there again in the future, but for more nights.

We stayed in a self-catering family unit. All facilities were perfect and our unit was cleaned everyday. The breakfast was gorgeous. Our boys enjoyed the beautiful lawns and running around on the farm safely. We were so close to all the attractions that it was the perfect home base. We even had some alone time the one evening, and my husband and I sat on the deck at the restaurant (which is on the farm) and enjoyed a bottle of bubbles. All staff were fantastic and friendly.

We highly recommend Old Mill Country Lodge. It offers outstanding hospitality and value for money. Our family decided this was the best breakfast in the Karoo! Our hosts made us feel at home immediately and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The swimming pool was a great hit with children and teenagers and our whole stay was very relaxed. The location is also very convenient as it is close to the Cango Caves and Cango Ostrich farm. We will definitely return.
We enjoyed our stay and the environment lends itself to a quiet and peaceful rest. The restaurant is not particularly child friendly and the menu limited. The breakfasts are great and really set you up for the day.
We stayed in a very clean room, in farm-style surroundings. This was a great opportunity to visit the local animals (the cattle, goats, dogs and occasional ostrich). There is a large childrens play area - perfect for a family, and the breakfast was sufficient.
