Additional features include a Weber braai, free Wi-Fi, and secure parking.
Grotto Bay offers activities such as bird watching, walking trails, and fishing at the reserve's private beach. The surrounding area offers opportunities for hiking and wine tasting.

We enjoyed the bird life and all the butterflies. Your hosting skills are very good, and the cleaner is a joy! We are looking forward to visiting again!
Very comfortable and felt like it was 'Ons Hysie' for a week! Owners are thoughtful and generous, we really appreciated the extra small things like receiving the loadshedding schedule in advance. The stacking door that opens all the way was our favourite feature, it's lovely to feel like you invite the ocean into the kitchen as you cook.
The experience from initial booking, confirmation, ongoing communication from 'host' was incredibly good. The photos are exactly what you get and so much more. When I look at the photos now, I realize that the 'real deal' is even better than what you see in the photo. Everything you need in the house is there to make your stay comfortable. The loadshedding did not bother because there are lights in the rooms and living room/kitchen. The view is amazing and the house is wonderfully decorated. I recommend it to anyone looking to get away.
House was very clean. Excellent communication from owners. Beautiful views. Close to Yzerfontein.
The house has all the amenities one needs. It is neat and clean. The key handover mechanism is convenient and the owners are very friendly and hospitable. You get the view in few other places and with it a piece of nature with birds, a ibex and other visitors right near the front door. This is a re-visit place!
What a lovely holiday home with a beautiful view over fynbos and the sea. What is better than sitting on the grass with a nice glass of wine and watching the sun set over the beautiful sea and fynbos. Children had a great time playing on the lawn and cycling in the streets. Willie is an excellent host who went out of his way to help us. Thank you very much. We would love to come again.
Think a built in braai would be fantastic as fire risk is an issue when the wind blows with outdoor weber braai.
Was a lovely weekend away. Safe and beautiful wildlife.
We had such a great stay that we simply added an extra night to our visit. The reserve is lovely quiet and peaceful. Although the sea is a short walk away, the sea view is unobstructed and the doors that open create a lovely sense of space and being outdoors. The hosts were easy to reach and accommodating. Will definitely visit again.
As a family we were able to spend some much needed time together! The house is a real "visiting house" as the kitchen and living area are open plan and open onto the lawn. Everyone is together all the time. A built-in braai might be nice (there is a Weber), but because the wind on the West Coast is unpredictable, it was convenient to be able to move the braai.
I can't wait to go back. I love that they have a Tupperware cupboard.
