38 guests' feedbackStunning location with the most beautiful views. Staff at this lodge is unprofessional and music was loud. Lodge managers should step in and engage with staff so that the brand standards don't lack.
The lodge was lovely. We had a great time camping along the Orange River. The management team was friendly and very helpful. The camping facilities are clean and nicely furnished and you can rest very well. Would recommend the place.
The hosts were welcoming and took trouble in ensuring we had a nice dinner.
We had a great time camping here - unfortunately it was only for the 1 night before we crossed the border to Namibia. I would definitely have camped there more if we lived closer. Would recommend to any campers. Each pitch is private with a braai, canopy, bench set and sink and enough light. Fantastic place!
We booked a large stand because we were two families, it was given to someone else. Pool was dirty. Our campsite was wet sprayed before we arrived. The canopy area was not given. All the extras were very expensive, we just left. Our water was off in the ablution blocks for the two nights.
We really enjoyed this lovely campsite along the Orange River. The whole site is neat and the pool helped a lot in the heat! The bar and restaurant is a nice area and we enjoyed the incredible scenery. The campsite's bathrooms can improve.
People are very friendly and the place is very peaceful.
Beautiful location on the Orange River, especially after visiting drought-stricken Namibia and Richtersveld. Accommodation does not meet requirement especially when temperature is mid 40's and air conditioners are not functioning properly. Bathrooms only zinc roof which has sauna effect. Other units (similarly more luxurious) were not occupied - not sure we got what we booked for? Smokers (visitors - family/friends of management?) get preference for deck and resident guests banished to porch under zinc roof where heat is unbearable; management decided that they did not want to accept alternative arrangement. On request if they can help with tea bags for our guests from Scotland - answer concise no. Water tank runs empty through the night and no toilet/other water. Knock a person up and eventually supply is restored. On sale car picks up another nail in rear wheel!
What you see is definitely not what you get accommodation-wise. Kindness and the view though. If it wasn't so expensive to sleep I would definitely look for other accommodation.
Upon arrival at the Orange River Rafting Lodge we immediately felt welcome. The service was excellent and friendly. We ordered the tastiest pizza and we didn't even wait long. The manager and her husband were really very friendly and made us feel so welcome that we can recommend the place to anyone to spend the night. Thank you very much for the resting place.
We had a very pleasant stay with very good service.
We had a great camp and bathrooms were very neat and clean. We were kindly received and it is wonderful to camp so close to the river. Just a pity that the night we spent the night there the noise from the bar was sometimes a bit disturbing.
Will definitely go again and have already recommended it to family and friends.
We've been camping there and Leigh Ann and her husband always make it a great experience. They make you feel at home, supply everything and are friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and campsite is super neat. We'll be back!
See stars.
Value for money. Staff very friendly. Not luxurious, but everything was clean and tidy. Air conditioner worked well.
Staff go out of their way to make accommodation as pleasant as possible. Campsites are clean and private next to the river.
Definitely worth a stop / overnight. You feel immediately on holiday when you drive in and even more so with very friendly service from staff. Although they are renovating the resort, still worth the money to stay here as an overnight stop on the way to Namibia or just to stretch out for a few days. Will definitely stay there again.
We could cool off in the pool after a long day trip in the heat. We found everything we needed there. However, the geyser did not work (chalet no. 7). Luckily it was very hot outside and a cold shower was the thing to do. The hessian ceilings look a little neglected and need attention. Otherwise we had a nice stay and would recommend the establishment.
The only issue was the toilet being outside. It was a bit difficult for someone with a disability.
The place is exotic and simple, right on the Orange River. The pool and outside bar are definitely a plus. Service was good too.
Would not recommend the place at all. Customer service is very poor, and the kitchen just closes when they feel like it, like half past 5 on a Friday afternoon, I think it's poor, I won't support them.
Rating of 1 out of 5 stars definitely nothing more, will not visit place again.
The place was dirty. We couldn't use the shower because the water comes up and it stinks. The bedding was also really dirty, not up to standard at all.
Dirk and Lee-Anne couldn't possibly do more for their guests. We were warmly welcomed and they went out of their way to make sure that we are comfortable and happy. The place is very clean and neat and comfortable with a beautiful view of the river and mountains. If I could give 10 stars, I would. Was a hear-beating-chocolates stay.
My family and I really enjoyed it, scenery. The hospitality of the people was incredible. Thank you very much.
It was the most enjoyable vacation I've probably ever had. The management did everything to make it delicious for us. Real real people. The campsite and toilets super clean.
We realized with shock that the place is on the RSA side at Kotzeshoop and not in Namibia. The road to the place is very bad, but don't let that put you off. The place is beautiful. People are friendly and helpful and there is an amazing pool. Highly recommend it for that price.
We had a nice stay, the service was friendly. The residential units are in urgent need of attention.
Directions to location very good, road condition satisfactory. Very friendly welcome, feels right at home. Campground spacious, neat and clean. Clean ablution blocks, nice hot water showers, beautiful view of the river, breathtaking nature.
Stay very good and tidy value for money but we personally will never go there again because the dirt road there is very very bad. We cut a tire the first night on the way there and it was a big drama to get help so far from everything and at that time of the evening too. At least the owner tried to help and made a call or two. Three weeks later when we drove there again the road was even worse, a plan must be made to scrape the road, otherwise the stay was good.
We received a very friendly welcome. The bar, pool area of the lodge where very nice. We enjoyed the river, we had a view of it from our chalet. The chalet's decor was bit out dated and on the primitive side, but never less we enjoyed getting back to nature. The unit was clean and neat. We welcomed the air-conditioning the the summer December heat. We will stay there again.
Campsite was neat and private. Ablution block was clean and tidy.
Friendly staff. Ate a delicious pizza.
Very nice stay. Will stop by again for sure. Friendly service and a dear camp dog, old Bruno.
Basic amenities, but comfortable. Airconditioning was a huge plus. Friendly owners.
