Each unit has an ironing board and iron, as well as insect repellent, and emergency lamps are provided. Hairdryers are supplied on request and a laundry service is available for stays of 3 days or more. The entire complex is fenced, well lit and has lock-up parking for each unit.
Braai packs are available on request for those who want to enjoy organic Karoo lamb chops and sausage. Kindly note that the lodge is a non-smoking establishment, but smoking areas are provided outside.

We were moved to Ikaiha Africa. So did not stay in Out of Africa. Would definitely stay there again, you can tell the owner has put a lot of effort into making it comfortable.

After a long day's driving, the air conditioning, comfortable beds and coffee were bliss for the soul. Everything you need is in the unit and the biscuits for the morning are delicious. The unit, bedding and fridge are clean and fresh.

Terrible! Units let to contractors talking loudly till 3. 30am! Would not recommend to anyone. Brenda was excellent in welcoming us. No hot water the next morning thermostat broken. Brenda very apologetic.
Dog on property when we arrived. It was behind the fence. Whether it was theirs or not, it was in an extremely emaciated condition. To see a young dog on the property like that was very distressing. I know the owners have other properties in the town and are busy with them, but surely the person looking after the rooms could not fail to see the condition it was in.
The locking gate where the car sleeps behind was a bit old and had a small lock. The water pipe burst. I struggled for 40 minutes to reach the lady at the guest house. By then the whole place was already wet and full of water. I have to admit she quickly arranged for another guest house where we could stay. However, she was friendly and hospitable.
Very nice stay, friendly service. Extra effort was made to provide us with dinner as we arrived on Christmas Day.

For overnight it was good with no problem. Bedding was good and clean, and the room and shower were great.
Was a lovely stay, but we arrived around 18:00 without knowing that all the restaurants would be closed. We were limited to purchasing food from superette to make food.
The stay of the 26th in unit no. 1 was far better. We prefer farm stays just outside these small towns. We are now planning our October 2024 trip to the Western Cape and want to return via Calvinia, Williston, Carnarvon, Colesberg, and Bloemfontein. If you have farm stays on a self-catering basis outside these towns, please let me know via email. A perfect example of what we are looking for is Prior Grange in Springfontein. We have seen the following farms advertised en route home: Rooiberg Gasteplaas near Williston and Sandrivier Guest farm near Carnarvon. Both on the internet look great.
The process of checking in and out, staying in the place and getting around was nice and easy. Great value for money.
Once there spend the night. Towns around Carnarvon seem better looked after and more welcoming.

A barbecue place on your front porch. The area looked dodgy to us, but there had been no problems throughout the night. It is safe.

Booked and paid for two nights, only stayed one. Judge for yourself if the following are in the documents in the unit. "Please do not use two electrical appliances. The electricity will trip" (Installation is a danger.) "Should you be disturbed after the set time, please contact the local police."
