Our stay more than exceeded our expectations. The location is beautiful and the photos don't do the place justice. So much space. The remote location was so special. The little touches like the wood for the two indoor fireplaces and the sherry just topped it for us. We were so sad to only have booked for one night. We made this a stop on the way to Punda Maria but it ended up being so much more. Will definitely be back!
Excellent lakeside and forest retreat. The house is well equipped for large families.
We had a lovely stay. The house is beautifully taken care of and safe. We had enough of everything to make the house warm and cosy. The staff was helpful. We got clean towels every day and support from the staff. Would love a dishwasher to make it easier for everyone, but really not a problem. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Well-equipped house with nice living areas, especially around the kitchen table with its small fire oven! Small things that made a difference such as sherry on arrival and wood available all the time and ready packed for fireplaces, ovens and barbecues. I would suggest that the following receive attention: "Sound proofing" between upper and lower floors. Only the wooden floor serves as cover and all sounds are heard in other rooms. WiFi is not reliable and therefore limits the use of the television.
House was dirty (floors, carpets) and smelled of mold. No fans to ease heat.

Pavetta Country House is a very nice house, located in the moosite location. The house is just not set up for a nice barbecue and social evening, because there is only a Weber on the porch and the outdoor barbecue (under the deck down stairs) has no seating. There are also not the necessary steak knives, wine glasses or grill in good condition, but otherwise everything was fine.
They just didn't expect us.

The house must have been particularly beautiful a long time ago, toilet leaking water, floor wet. Linen wet. Not enough time is allowed for cleaning between guests. It is a beautiful garden and nature is breathtakingly beautiful, but the house needs attention! House needs attention, very dirty. Garden beautiful. Location excellent.

My family and I stayed at Pavetta and got ready for my wedding. It was so special and beautiful.
Very comfortable beds with luxurious bedding. House was very neat and clean. House is also very well equipped against the cold. People who work there try very hard. A few things went wrong with the power and water, but I think with all the rain and Eskom, things just went awry. Owner compensated for this.
The only negative feedback is that the geyser was off and we didn't have hot water the first night, and on check-out day the cleaners came into the house at 9 o'clock to clean even though check-out time was only 11 o'clock.
We were 2 families visiting together. The house was spacious, tidy and the service very good. It is a lovely setting and one can sit and stare at the water for hours. I would definitely recommend it.

The location of the house is amazing. Feel like you are clean in another world. House is nice and spacious with everything you need and more. Clean and tidy. Only negative is that some of the furniture needs attention such as the cots that you can see have been put together several times and their mattresses. As well as the curtains in the living room and upper double bed's headboard. But otherwise this is definitely one of the most beautiful places and we will definitely go back again.

We had a wonderful stay here. All our expectations were exceeded. The house is spacious, neat and clean. The kitchen, porch and living area are lovely places to hang out. However, the outside rooms were a bit bad as we had to go out in the rain in the evenings to go to the room, but everything else was really nice!
We really enjoyed our stay at Pavetta. The advance arrangements were managed very professionally and Lolo received us warmly, even though we were a little late. The house is beautifully situated and very well equipped - everything one might need and a welcome drink. The location is very central to visit the Magoebaskloof. Our visit was so short but will love to stay for a long weekend! Very neat, and what a pretty view!
Pavetta is picturesque, at night you fall asleep to the noise of the frogs and in the morning you wake to the chatter of the birds. If you love nature this is a true spoil.
We enjoyed the stay except for the cupboard doors that fell off. There wasn't enough wood and it was wet. The cleaner couldn't clean downstairs as she didn't have a spare key, and the house needs some maintenance.
The house was very nice with lots of space. We had a great time together and went fishing.

Just 3 suggestions: Please let guests know beforehand that there is no signal. A rowing boat at both houses would be nice. Make sure that at least one of the big outside lights work. The spa bath was out of order. Apart from these it was fantastic.
Pavetta is out of the books! We had a great time, the house is fully equipped and very clean. Big house where all 8 people can move freely and hang out together. The cleaners are very friendly and helpful. We felt very safe and the garden is beautiful.
Private, well-equipped, fire in the kitchen's stove that is burning upon arrival, sherry with it and fresh flowers in the pot. A lovely, big house, beautifully furnished, breathtaking view. Worth it through and through. The cleaning service was good as well. No complaints. The only challenge is the path over the dam wall, very steep before and to the bridge, but we will try it next time. The location might be a problem if you have small children with you because the house is on the edge of the dam and the children can fall into the water quite easily.
The surroundings and location are beautiful and the house is very large and spacious. There is a lot of maintenance work that is needed and I feel the website should mention that 2 of the rooms can only be entered from outside the house. In our case we had elderly people with us and they had to go out in the rain to get in and out of the big house.
We had our daughter's wedding nearby on the weekend of October 20th. Both houses rented for the weekend. House 1 is a beautiful house and everything is tidy with a lovely wooden deck overlooking the little pond. No trout caught, but I believe at another time you will surely manage. The house is very modern and wonderfully laid out for 2 or 3 couples or 2 families with children. House 2 is like an old farmhouse, rustic. The fireplaces in the house are delicious and the barbecue outside delicious if the weather permits. The house needs a little attention here and there, but fully equipped and we had a great time.

Pavetta House presents the visitor with tranquility, breathtaking views and comfort. The kitchen (as well as the lounge area) boasts a fireplace and every utensil you might need, and walks out onto a veranda overlooking the dam. Here you can enjoy breakfast while listening to nature. The bedrooms are a crisp clean safe haven. Bathrooms neat and clean. Our teenagers enjoyed walking around and exploring the surrounding area and played pool and scrabble in the evening. We were met by friendly staff members upon arrival who treated us like royalty and showed us around the house. We will definitely return again to Pavetta House.
Quietest weekend with the most beautiful view all around you. Our only slight criticism was that there is not a hiking trail over the hill at the house. It's something we've been looking forward to. It looks like there was one that overgrew.
Had a great time, will go again. The directions could be improved a bit, especially if you arrive in the dark and it can be quite foggy in the mountain. The Google Maps directions are also completely wrong.
