127 guests' feedbackI never felt so at home like I did with my visit at the resort.
We stayed in a room in the hotel. It had a lovely balcony with magnificent views. The bed was huge and comfortable. The fridge was rather small but we managed to put essentials in. The room was big with a couch and all.
Fantastic service and hospitality.
Yes, we really enjoyed our stay.
It was incredible from the place, the friendly staff and great food. Keep up the good work.
Amazing, peaceful, relaxing. I will definitely come again. The only thing they need to do is add more lights in the paths, but otherwise no complaints.
I loved the mountain break, the facilities at the resort, everything was just amazing. The only thing is the TV should be mounted properly; it was balanced on a TV stand and with young kids, it felt like a hazard.
The room was clean and comfortable with excellent views. Staff were friendly and service was excellent in all departments. Our evening meal we would rate as average. The breakfast spread was very good. A comfortable.
I would only advise that they fix the ceiling decently in the resort and maybe modernize the hotel a bit like e.g. replaced the carpets and other curtains (they were dirty and damaged).
The hotel room exceeded our expectations!
Most tranquil vacation destination. Kids had a blast and we could relax!
Loved the view and tranquility. Just the pool's tiles need more cleaning every day.
Very disappointed in the restaurant's food and service. I waited a very long time for service, reminded the waiter several times and sent back to get the correct order. The fish was not fresh at all and looked like it had been put in batter itself - it was triangular HOOKS from a BOX that had just been reheated. The chips were ice cold and I had to send them back. The pizzas looked delicious, but we were not allowed to order them for dinner, only until 17h00. The table NEXT to us that sat AFTER us was still able to order pizzas. There were NO burgers or anything on the children's dinner menu, and there was no other menu offered to us for them either. I waited a very long time for the food, and there were only 2 waiters for a fairly full restaurant.
Rooms are good. Gardens and surroundings (parking) are neglected. It creates a very poor impression. The experience of the place is such that I would not recommend it to guests.
A stunning and extremely well-kept resort situated in the mountains with stunning views over the valley. Hotel staff were extremely friendly, super attentive and the Chef. Wow! Great and well-kept on-premise facilities, and you won't regret a trip to the spa!
Would love to go back.
A lovely resort. Chalet was super well equipped, clean and neat. Just a dash noisy with N7 traffic, but everything else made up for that.
Neat rooms, good value for money, lots to do for kids, excellent food in restaurant.
The facilities and the surroundings are beautiful. The staff went out of their way and made our stay extra enjoyable.
I've nothing but great things to say about my stay here. So much so, that I extended it by one night.
The rooms that we and our friends slept in were very neat. Ladies at reception friendly and hospitable. Thank you very much for a lovely break.
Beautiful place with lovely spacious clean rooms with everything you need to sleep well. Temperature in the room was perfect. Restaurant was nice and cuddly warm and the food was delicious. Service was great. We will definitely visit the Resort again so we can enjoy the beautiful pool.
Atmosphere, customer service together with neat facilities and professional staff, it was a memory that will stay with me. Well done.
Our self-catering accommodation was well equipped with everything you need. Modern and neat rooms and bathrooms, a braai place on the stoep with a view of the beautiful surroundings.
Nice stay and delicious food.
The staff was very friendly, always happy to help and love what they're doing.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and dinners are fantastic and their pizzas are tops! The location is fantastic and it's wonderful to enjoy meals with such an incredible view. Their hot pool is not from a mineral spring, but I was pleasantly surprised with how nice and warm the pool was for winter time. We saw a lot of water damage in the ceilings and walls in the hallways with mold coming out. The TVs in the rooms do not look very professionally installed.
We had a nice stay - room very neat and service good. However, overall atmosphere more of a family holiday destination - not as luxurious as it looks in photos. It was our honeymoon and expected a romantic destination.
Comfortable place to stay, with great facilities and a beautiful view, delicious food at the Kloof Restaurant.
Very friendly and helpful staff, neat and clean accommodation and delicious meals. Would definitely recommend, perfect overnight stop after a long drive.
I liked the peaceful atmosphere and the beauty of the accommodation. The activities for children were also enjoyable.
Value for money, fun for the whole family including the little ones.
This place is ideal if you need peace of mind. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Nice getaway place.
The apartment was very comfortable and clean and perfect for 3 single people traveling together. I forgot my diamond earrings and the staff fetched them for me and put them away so I could pick them up on the way back. Well done to the staff.
Awesome and spectacular.
Everything was perfect. View and food were great. They really make an effort.
Everything was very well organized from the first moment. Thank you very much.
Clean. Well located. Breakfast average. Service extremely poor.
Located in beautiful part of our country, natural beauty is special. The room was comfortably furnished and provided with all your needs. The breakfast was well served, they take Covid into account. Very helpful and they went out of their way to offer help in getting my flat tire changed.
See stars.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Accommodation excellent and clean. Breakfast is great variety. This is a little gem with the most beautiful view. Staff make you feel very important.
Very friendly and helpful people. It was just a pleasure to be there.
Really a very nice resort. Perfect for a weekend getaway even if it is a bit expensive. We stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. The room was tidy with good quality beds and tastefully furnished. The weekend's great service stood out above all else. I have to highlight Abramisha (Fonkel), she served us with dinner and she was really a star. Finally try the lamb shank, it's a winner!
The room has all essentials and the resort has a very good restaurant.
The fireplace in chalet 16 wasn't good, part of the smoke came into our unit. Heated pool too small, would've helped if the outside pools was heated as well, staff was very professional and friendly, when it comes to the self catering units, you should state its semi detected, we could hear the guest next door. Bar one cheese cake overpriced and not good, pizza tasteless.
Good service, nice resort with an incredible view!
We had been there 3 years ago, and could see that the place was no longer the same.
Expected more.
Would appear as if not much maintenance is done on units or gardens anymore. No security seen either, yet you are warned against theft in the letter you receive on arrival.
It's a fantastic place - most beautiful view, delicious food, professional service, luxurious rooms - everything one needs to enjoy a perfect holiday. Excellent - the best of all the places we have been on holiday in South Africa.
Upon entering, the parking area created negative expectations - but everything after that was a total, welcome surprise. The reception was warm and 'homely' despite their very effective application of the Covid-19 rules. The choice of rooms for us slightly elderly people was excellent, the condition and quality of the rooms, the reception areas and all the other facilities were indescribably good. The meals were exquisite and delicious. And to top it all off, the staff were like family when we had to pack up - friendly, prompt service that business owners can only dream of! What a nice experience.
Can recommend, service very good, food in restaurant delicious.
Very friendly staff. The room was luxurious and comfortable but unfortunately the N7 makes a lot of noise and we couldn't really open the windows to enjoy the fresh air. The room was also down on the grass with noisy kids playing, so not very private and quiet. The restaurant's staff are friendly with a nice menu but the dishes are slightly disappointing.
It was a wonderful night for our group on their way to Cape Town. Very neat and clean and delicious dinner. Will definitely stay there again.
Would prefer if the dining room had some rugs in it for a warmer atmosphere.
Accommodation and facilities very pleasant and safe environment. Despite the restrictions due to Covid-19, I still suggest that the kitchen and serving arrangements be adjusted to provide better service for breakfast. This was the only disappointment of the stay. Tea and coffee stock in units should be replenished without additional costs.
Kids enjoyed the pools, and the breakfast was a bonus.
Best place to stay ever for the price.
Thank you very much for being warmly welcomed by professional staff at reception and our unit was spacious, clean and neat. We really enjoyed our stay and were able to relax. Will definitely be back. It's very quiet and fun for the kids with all the games and also the pools.
Would be even better if outdoor pool was solar heated for those sunny winter days.
Had a nice time. Air conditioning was a treat as temperature was very high.
R20 for 200 ml milk for room was excessive. There was only 2 pods of milk for 2 people with 4 coffee pods, 4 sachets of coffee and 4 sachets of tea. Wi-Fi in room was poor.
Very neat accommodation with friendly staff. Great activities to do. Delicious breakfast. Will definitely visit Piekenierskloof again.
On arrival we were received by friendly personnel, made us feel at home immediately. Rooms are spaces and clean, we had our 31st anniversary dinner the evening and the staff made it so special for us even with the anniversary plate thank you. The children enjoyed the pools hot and cold. Thank you for a blessed 3 days of relaxed and comfort at your resort.
Only area of improvement is a concern regarding the lack of soundproofing of the shared wall between chalets. I was able to listen to every word and conversation of the guests next door and competing TV channels become interesting. If one is looking for solitude and relaxation, this might be distracting.
Our family spent one night there in one of the self-catering chalets. We were tempted to spend another night there. Lovely place for winding down. Customer service and assistance were excellent. Lunch at the restaurant was lovely.
On arrival we booked in, advised of all activities although not in depth as to pre-bookings and times. The view was breathtaking and we enjoyed the quietness. We enjoyed the activities especially for the little ones and where or if any issues the staff were always ready and eager to assist. Everything was neat and on its place and we were pleased with the standard.
Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night, but enjoyed it very much. The location is perfect and the facilities very good. We had neighbors who were a bit noisy and were hitting on them all the time - but that's not really something the Lodge can change. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Lovely resort, will want to go back there every year.
The service was good. The place was very tidy and spacious. Wonderful view. We regret that our travel program did not allow us to stay for another day.
Really impressed by the facilities, neat rooms, wonderful service. Will definitely be returning.
Beautiful resort for couples or older people who just want to unwind and relax.
Really enjoyed it and will visit again, will visit again with my family. Would like to check out a bit later.
The place is beautiful, the staff were always very friendly and helpful with my husband who struggles to walk. The food was very fragrant, beautifully served and the service was good. Would love to visit again.
Our stay was very nice.
We had a wonderful, relaxing overnight stay at Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge on route from Windhoek to Cape Town. The lodge is beautifully situated and the room and service was very good value for money ─ the facilities are modern and clean with lots of helpful staff members. Thank you!
Excellent resort all round. Definitely need cushions on the pool loungers though.
We will visit again anytime, and this time the kids are coming along. We got married and were looking for a place to switch off for a bit. It was very very appropriate and we enjoyed the break so much. The staff were helpful and everything was always tidy, just a pity we had to go back again - away from the spoil. Thank you very much for the peaceful getaway after all the wedding arrangements and rush.
Service was prompt and we were also able to occupy our room a little earlier. That was a bonus. The Zip experience was amazing. We are both in our 50's but enjoyed every second of it. The team that hosted it was friendly and considerate. The pool was beautifully clean, we went for a swim in the hot water pool. The facilities are well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. Christmas was a festival and we enjoyed it very much.
Had a wonderful stay at the lodge. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely revisit the lodge. Money well spent.
We had a fantastic time, the staff was very friendly. Chalets are spotless and all is set with a great view.
Nice stopover en-route to Cape Town!
This place is the best!
Beautiful place with delicious restaurant!
Very comfortable and cosy, excellent for the quiet getaway. Can get very cold during winter.
Although we only spent a few days at the Mountain Lodge, we returned to Cape Town, rested and well fed. The staff of the Lodge went out of their way to ensure that we were well catered for and nothing was too much trouble. I would certainly recommend the Lodge and looking forward to our next visit. The actions of TravelGround were in tune with the Lodge from the time of booking to the email reminder of our visit. Thank you.
Very good service and very nice environment. Will definitely go there again.
We left Piekenierskloof with a good impression. We walked a walking trail and the maintenance of the gardens and surroundings is excellent. Keep it up.
Hotel is great for a family. Great activities for the children are organized and parents can relax.
I have raved about this fantastic place to all I know. Owners, be prepared for more holiday guests!
Had an excellent stay; enjoyed the heated pool and friendly services.
Had an extremely peaceful and satisfying stay at Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge. Stunning place.
Very nice, finished speaking but father's day food that was not nice. You must watch it please.
Excellent place to stay. Service and food at the hotel fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Accommodation and rooms immaculate. Picturesque view. Very safe and a very well organised set-up. You are greeted with a very warm and homely atmosphere when you enter the accommodation. Probably one of the best resorts I've visited so far. Well done! This is now my destination for all my future holidays or break-aways. Thank you for good service, value for money and excellent hospitality.
This was the best weekend we have attended through Old Mutual. The atmosphere was so peaceful and the staff excellent. It was a nice rest and rooms are of a high quality. One feels after the weekend one should have stayed longer... but will certainly use the resort again. Thanks for everything.
It is a very peaceful environment. We really enjoyed the heated pool!
I was impressed that the staff were prepared to speak English considering it is a predominantly Afrikaans speaking area. My only negative comment, albeit a small one, is the food, as I felt some of the dishes were not up to scratch.
We needed a break away and it was also our first visit to Piekieniers Kloof. The service, quietness and view are something to experience.
I can warmly recommend this lodge. We were offered two beautiful bedrooms with a king-sized bed, shower, and a bath with a Jacuzzi. The terrace, with a view of the valley, was beautiful and the meals were exquisite, despite the relatively small choice. The staff are lovely. We really fell in love with Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge and left it reluctantly. Only negative point: the Wi-Fi did not work and nobody seemed to feel concerned about it.
We really enjoyed our stay and we will be going back for sure. The garden room was magnificent, stepping outside onto our own little stoop which led onto the lawn and pool area. The bed was huge and comfy and a splendid bathroom to boot. The staff were all friendly and had a professional yet non stuffy approach. If there could be improvements they would be to ensure that the Wi-Fi worked, as people do need to stay in touch with the outside world and I never got connected once. A little more candle power at the table in the dining room would be appreciated, and the menu was limited but the food was well cooked and enjoyable.
It was my second visit and I enjoyed it as much as the first. This time we stayed in a self catering unit which is just perfect for a family. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the food is very realistically priced, including takeaways delivered to your door!
We were welcome with warm hearts and big smiles. Each staff member treated us like royalty. We were not happy with our room, and as it was available, were given the honeymoon suite. Wow that was a blessing!! Will go there again. We told our friends about the place they all would like to go. Thank you Management and staff for your hospitality. God bless.
Good food, nice activities for kids to enjoy.
Had a fabulous weekend at Pienenierskloof. The setting is spectacular and the facilities are wonderful. Loved the zip-lining and the warm pool. Loved everything about the place. Would have enjoyed dinner a little more if one had the option of ordering side dishes of vegetables as well. Will certainly be back. Regards, Jason and Cheryl Small
We had a great time for two days. The facilities and the surroundings are very nice. Will definitely go again.
We enjoyed it so much that we will definitely use Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge again.
We really enjoyed the visit, and will go again and invite friends.
No complaints.
Piekenierskloof was really very beautiful and the rooms are extremely comfortable. We will definitely stay there again and this time for more than just one night.
An outstanding lodge, no complaints.
A wonderful place with great staff!
We loved our stay. The rooms are beautiful, the atmosphere relaxed, the view just stunning and will recommend the hotel. If you want to relax, enjoy hiking in the mountain, doing outside activities or just swim and read a book, you will love this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay, lots of activities to do and we will definitely bring our children and grandchildren along for the next stay!
It was a good and relaxing stay. Kids were kept busy and the service was excellent. Rooms were cleaned every morning. The heated pool was awesome and the facilities. Enjoyed the cottages, it had excellent view, awesome fireplace and more than enough space for all. Was a good stay and will definitely come again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge. Will stay longer next time!
The staff are friendly, I also loved the reminder I got on my cell - the place was quiet and peaceful. Looking forward to our next stay there!
It was an unexpected delight, didn't see it coming. The stay here was absolutely great.
The location is beautiful. The cottage is equipped with all comforts. It's spacious and clean and had a great stay. We had a nice walk around the grounds. It's beautifully landscaped and well maintained.
Beautiful, extremely neat and clean. Helpful and friendly staff members. You will definitely see us again!
We were warmly welcomed by manager there. All our expectations were met. What lovely view!!!
Staff extremely friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
See the stars below.
From my booking, arrival and stay, breakfast and departure the staff was friendly, and helpful. I arrived late and the night staff did not waste any time in getting me settled in. The lodge managers Mr and Mrs Nell was just as friendly and made sure my stay was comfortable. If the staff at this resort keeps this up, it could become one with a Gold Crown Status. Thank you once again everybody at Piekenierskloof Mountain Lodge!!!
We would recommend electric blankets and winter sheets in winter and that you fill the gap between the roof and the wall above the kitchen counter, where an icy wind came in. Otherwise, a great place to stay.
Everything was nice and clean, nothing old and used up. Kids specially loved the indoor heated pool. I dont recommend it for toddlers, specially ones that like to wonder as the playground is not very well situated as it is right next to a slope that kids could fall down very easily. You have to really be on your toes with the toddlers as small ones can not walk around on there own. Otherwise everything else is very neat and tidy. If you go with a large family and have small children ask for a chalet close to the lodge as it is quiet a walking distance to the pool and you wont be able to quickly run back to fetch a baby bottle, etc. Overall it is a beautiful, safe, clean environment for a family with children that can breath in some fresh air.
This place is definitely worth the visit and their heated pool is nice. The only thing I would say is: the first time I stayed at the the lodge, there was coffee, tea, sugar and milk waiting for us after the long journey. However, this time there was nothing - and we had to go to the shop to buy. Other then that inconvenience, it was good!
