We used the camping ground, really very quiet and everything tidy. Bathrooms are always clean and tidy. Goats are fed nearby at the camp, nice to sit and watch them. Owners are also friendly and happy to help where they can. Would definitely go again and can definitely recommend.

We felt warmly welcomed by the owner on our arrival. She recommended the best stand for us - which we enjoyed greatly. We had access to electricity to charge our cameras and phones throughout the weekend. The ablutions were 5-star clean compared to other camp places we have been to, big up and keep doing the good work. When we got up on Saturday, the friendly staff came around to clean the ashes from our braai stands - wow! One other great thing about the place is you do not pay the conservation fee like most places in the main side of the reserve. The place is secure with few animals on site. A great and friendly place for outing with family. To the owners: Keep up the good work of running this place as efficiently as you currently are doing, kudos!

It was very beautiful and peaceful.
Lovely venue approximately 4 km from Dinokeng main gate. The unit was comfortable with three beds in the kitchenette space. The bedding is of high quality. We had challenges with the gas geyser, but the hosts were very responsive and sorted it out as soon as possible. We were able to go for daily walks, and the buck added to the atmosphere of a pleasant bush walk. The kitchenette forms part of the sleeping area, so the fridge made annoying sounds during the night, disturbing our sleep, but this was easily fixed by switching it off at the wall on the second night. Perfect for a night or two, but due to the size of the unit and lack of storage space for clothes, etc., as well as no privacy as the three beds take up all the space, I wouldn't recommend it for long stays. There is a wooden bench and table outside, but no comfortable chairs inside or out. I would have loved to carry a chair outside to sit in the sun, but we had to stay inside the unit and sit on our beds to escape the cold outside. I think the inclusion of a few plastic garden chairs for this purpose could work really well.
We had a great time at Plaas Toe. We stayed in unit 4. It can comfortably sleep 8 people. The place is beautifully furnished and the beds and bedding are some of the nicest and cleanest I have ever experienced. It was wonderful to sit on the porch and watch the goats. Very friendly hostess, was incredibly accommodating. Our two sheepdogs were together and enjoyed it almost more than we did!
My husband, daughter and I had a wonderful stay at Plaas Toe. My son was playing rugby at Camp Discovery, so by staying at Plaas Toe we were able to drive through the game reserve to get to his matches in less than half an hour. Mariette was extremely helpful and organised, and we enjoyed the relaxing time that we had in our very well-equipped chalet.
We were very impressed with the Chalet, neat and clean bedding, towels and very well equipped. Absolutely nothing was missing. The site staff are friendly and very helpful, and the owner also came to say hello. The antelopes came closer and the tranquility did us good.

What a wonderful surprise this place was! Such a peaceful atmosphere with different types of goats that often come to show their eyes. Forest sounds and bright stars. It was heavenly and the perfect getaway, despite being so close to Pretoria. Also a bonus that our dog child could come along. We will definitely come again.

The place was lovely and the facilities were great. The kitchen could be a little cleaner and they should advise that although it's located in Dinokeng, you can't access the reserve directly from the place. It requires a drive.
On arrival waited an hour to enter the resort, the person we had to contact didn't answer her phone, contacted you and they couldn't get hold of her either, in the end other holidaymakers had to we opened the gate. Second day was the same again and we had to wait 20 min before holidaymakers opened for us, again we could not get hold of the host. Don't believe there are enough power points, we were standing on the pavement, but our power wire must have been lying across the road. Second day when we asked for ice there was none after being told there was wood and ice on the premises.

The self-catering unit contains absolutely everything one could need and is very nicely and tastefully furnished. It was a privilege to spend the night there. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

We slept so well under the beautiful warm bedding. The chalet is beautifully equipped with everything one could need for such a weekend getaway. Even coffee, tea, sugar and milk in the fridge. The gardens are so beautifully maintained and you feel safe. We saw Njala bulls, roebucks and blesboks. I love the bench that opens up and becomes a table with seating. Lovely barbecue. Thank you very much for sharing such a beautiful place with our townspeople.

Very nice cosy little spot about 10 minutes from the Dinokeng Nature Reserve's Tau gate. The pin and description, how to get there, sent by owner Mariette is top-notch! Access road is a good dirt road, easy to take along the local village. Owners live on site. Despite being a work in progress and living farm, everything is neat and clean. Was answered timeously even on Easter Sunday.

We are big campers and travel with our Echo Chobe forest van to all the types of campsites you can find. Plaas Toe was by far one of the best we have experienced!
We went camping in March 2023 for a long weekend. The owners were very friendly and helpful. We were able to use a fridge to keep our food cold. There are currently more bathrooms being built. The one that was there is nice, but with many people there we had to wait here and there. The grass where we stood was beautifully green and we were well situated in terms of the ablution, children's toys and swimming pool. The pool is cute, but not meant for older people. One has to climb up and down a ladder to get in. We could easily buy ice and wood from the kind owners. My little girl loved the tractors and the farm life. There are also goats and Njalas came to visit us. It is very peaceful. I would just look for a closer place to wash dishes.

One of the most well-maintained accommodations ever. One can see that pride and love have been put into this place. Beautiful decor and lush green lawns. There is not much to do for adults, for those looking for such a setting, it is perfect. It's a lovely place to stay. The helpfulness of Esther was highly appreciated. Come and ask often if we need anything or ice and wood. Very close to the Tau gate too, so at Dinokeng game reserve's entrance. Wonderful durable bedding. Pillows were a bit hard and uncomfortable.
The units are private and located on the outskirts of Dinokeng on a working farm (no direct access to "self drive" routes from Dinokeng, access is via De Witskraal gate and then Tau gate). Host's directions and communication were good and we were received kindly. The units are very well equipped with a fridge, gas stove and microwave oven. Beds and bedding are of high quality. Nice cozy braai area. The sounds heard are farm sounds (dogs barking, sheep bleating) sometimes you can hear foxes and lions in the distance. Hammanskraal residential area is relatively close, but it didn't bother us (sounds and lights in the distance). Sunset at the reservoir which is only a few meters from the self-catering cottages was beautiful. More farm atmosphere than forest atmosphere (at least we spotted a few kudus and impalas in the area). But still a lovely break from the city ─ considering it's only 45 minutes from Pretoria. Game viewing in Dinokeng was good, as well as picnic places and restaurants were nice and clean. Saw a lot of wildlife. Will visit again.

We attended a wedding at Mongena Lodge and found Plaas Toe a good alternate to stay for the night.
The units are very nicely equipped and the quality linen reminds you of your own bed. Lovely private veranda with braai and plenty of play space for the children. Clean, tidy and spacious enough. It's only 40 minutes outside of Pretoria and right next to Dinokeng, so a day trip is easy. There is clay pigeon shooting which also provides a nice diversion. Ricus and Mariette are very pleasant, friendly and hospitable people. Our children also really enjoyed exploring the farm with Franna. We hope to see them again.
The units are placed so that guests do not disturb each other. We like a farm atmosphere and that's why we will go there again!

Would recommend that a small cafe be created for the basic necessities. The fishing pond can only be cleaned, there was a lot of rubbish in it. Have a nice time.
