We had a wonderful stay. The host is very friendly and hospitable. We are definitely going to have to organize a weekend at Platdak again.
I would recommend Flat Roof to anyone and everyone. The large open-plan living area, indoor braai and large veranda with a nice view have everything you could possibly need in accommodation. It was one of our family's most enjoyable weekend experiences.
Uncle Hennie and family were friendly and helpful. Accommodation is clean and tidy and has everything we needed. Pool table was great for keeping teenagers (and adults) busy.
Stilbaai stole our heart and staying at such a cute place is a bonus. Although the stairs outside may be quite a style for some people, Uncle Hennie gave us access to use the house's stairs inside. The place is equipped with everything you need. Uncle Hennie is the kindest and dearest person you will ever meet. We had a very nice stay.

Owner, Hennie immediately made us feel at home in the well-equipped 2-bedroom apartment. It was nice and spacious and even has a pool table which is great. The facilities are neat and comfortable and we had a very nice holiday in the safe Stilbaai flat roof apartment.

My family and I really enjoyed ourselves there. Everything was so clean and tidy and exactly as in the photos. Uncle Hennie was very hospitable and friendly. Our host was friendly, caring, hospitable and went the extra mile to make our stay comfortable. The children had access to WiFi and DStv. The pool table, indoor and outdoor barbecue was great entertainment for the adults. The winter bedding was deliciously warm and fresh. We didn't want to go home! Thank you very much Platdak - we had a great time!
Often, self-catering units are clean, but tired with all the old cutlery, plates and bowls that were inherited from Grandma - and which are now getting a job for the last time in a holiday home. Flat roof is different. It is spacious, well equipped and the large, open living area simply takes your breath away. Indoor and outdoor barbecue, pot game table and open plan kitchen. Rooms and bedding also very neat.
Our host, Hennie, took care of everything - we really didn't need anything except our food and towels. There was plenty to do even inside the apartment and the views were beautiful. The stairs can be a challenge for someone who doesn't like climbing.
Access is an external staircase and it is very steep and difficult to bring up your luggage etc., but the owner is unbelievably friendly and happy for guests to access the apartment via his house downstairs.

It was me and my daughter's first time visiting Stilbaai. We couldn't ask for a better host, Hennie. The accommodation was painfully neat and there were the most delicious fresh biscuits and fruit laid out for us. Platdak is better equipped than many of the accommodation I have stayed in, with everything one might need. We came to Hennie as strangers, and left as friends, and are definitely going back for more visits.

Friendly welcome. Place neat, clean and spacious. Meet all expectations. Would stay there again and can recommend anytime.
Friendly reception felt like a family visit with everything available in fine detail, you can just turn up. Had a storm but it wasn't even a problem with teenagers. Board games, books, indoor barbecue, enough wood and flash and warm blankets with a pool table, the time passed almost too quickly.

We had a great reception and our privacy was respected. The place has so much space, yet it is intimate and warm.
Now this is a place to recommend. Nice quiet environment. Is really very private with its own entrance. Is fully equipped with TV and everything you need is there. Large and spacious.

There is a staircase on the outside that gives you access to the apartment on the top floor of the house. But there is an open staircase inside the apartment that leads to the owner's residence below. So there isn't a door by the stairs that you can close for privacy or lock for security. You hear all their sounds e.g. TV, cooking, chatting etc. Nowhere on the website/advert is it mentioned that there is an open staircase to the lower floor. So there is no silence around you and it therefore does not feel like you have privacy. We are e.g. woken up by their grandchildren (who were visiting there) because the sound goes straight up through the open staircase and our son who was sleeping in the lounge area was woken up by noise at 06:00 in the morning. So we only stayed 1 night instead of 5 because it really felt like we were sharing a house with strange people and didn't have silence. Pannie and Hennie are 2 lovely people but they will have to consider closing the stairs for future guests.
The whole top floor is for the use of the renter with a large lounge, open plan kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and patio. The hosts, Hennie and Ponnie were fantastic.
We really enjoyed the large living space where the whole family could gather to spend time together. The feeling of safety also contributed to the peacefulness of the unit.
The Steyns did absolutely everything in their power to make my stay in Stilbaai as comfortable as possible. The only reason why the unit only got 4 for location is because it is not located on the beach. The unit is spacious and well equipped. The view from the stoep is beautiful and you really get the holiday feeling when you visit there. I can recommend the unit, hostess and host with the utmost confidence. Everything was better than I expected.
