This is my favourite Overberg getaway for sweeping views, absolute solitude, quiet rural atmosphere, and connecting with nature.
On our arrival we were surprised by some springboks and zebras. The tranquility of the farm environment is soul rest from the everyday rush.

Amazing place between zebras and springboks with fresh milk from the cows, newly born lambs. House was very nice for the six of us. Everything what you need was there including very nice contact to the owners who showed us around on the farm. We even extended our stay.

Will we vacation there again? For sure yes! The atmosphere and location of Die Veldhuisie is absolutely perfect. The art, beautiful sunset and sunrise will always stay with you, because it's easily one of the most beautiful you can find. The fresh smell of farm life stays under your nose and I'm sure the next time that cow dung smell passes me by, I'll remember our good time at Die Veldhuisie. The cottage itself is nice and spacious and even though it is so simple inside, it makes you feel at home away from home. Definitely the perfect place to break away from everyday life and just lie back. Driving distance from nearby towns such as Riversdal, Stilbaai and Heidelberg makes it possible for you to enjoy scenic monuments and other fun activities.

Tucked away on a farm, 10 km from the hustle and bustle of Riversdale, you will find this beautiful two bedroomed accommodation called Platkop Veldhuisie. As we came driving through the gates, we were met by 2 of the most magnificent looking zebras. We were surrounded by the beauty of the farms valleys. When stepping into the house, we were met by freshly painted walls and a homely atmosphere. The farm baked bread and fresh farm milk just topped the welcome feeling. I recommend this quaint place to anyone who feels like getting away from the busy town life. Breathing in the crisp and clean fresh air each morning is definitely a plus.
