A lovely stayover in a green oasis.
Had a great stay, peaceful farm atmosphere. Wildebeest cottage has a swimming pool and a braai area outside. Also make a small boma area for a fire. Chalet is equipped with a small kitchen and fridge stocked with some soft drinks, beer and Savanna!
Isabel is incredibly friendly and the service is exceptional. The food they offer is 10-star quality with a hearty plate of food that makes you sleep well. The gardens are kept neat and to the side. The place is just beyond beautiful.

Enjoyed walking on the farm. Was excited about game on the farm, but couldn't see because the grazed too far. Dirt road needs some attention. Hospitable host and wife and very pleasant stay.
Comfortable and safe overnight stay on a Free State farm - Isabel constantly made sure we had everything we needed.

The interior decoration is stylish and beautiful with a thatched roof. The dinner was top notch and extremely tasty. The hostess is warm and friendly and the service was efficient.

Beautiful farm and rural setting. Very pleasant and friendly hospitality, makes you feel at home and comfortable. Made extra effort to ensure that something we forgot from them does get back to us.
House well equipped for a person in a wheelchair - Isabel, your suggestion to make the walkway to the house wider and level is a brilliant idea. Thank you for your hospitality - will definitely want to stay there again and maybe go on a hike next time.
Great place for stargazing.
We had a great time at Rietpoort. The farm and beautiful garden were a welcome sight after the long road behind us. The service was very good and the farmers food with lamb and the best sweet potato was absolute value for money. Our unit was a little dusty and needed a good clean. I would definitely recommend Rietpoort to someone who needs an overnight place between the Cape and Gauteng.

Rietpoort is an incredible experience - away from the noise of cars and city/town lights. Although we arrived late, we were greeted with friendly Free State hospitality. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. I definitely recommend Rietpoort.

Rural, friendly and delicious. Perfect location for photographers especially for Karoo and windmills. Beautiful garden with big trees. Friendliest, most helpful people you can find. Comfortable rooms, don't expect modern. Delicious cooked peasant food and red wine. It is value for money for sure.
Our room, Springbok, is stuck away at the back with no view of the beautiful garden. Like a servants quarter! We feel that particular room should have a lower tariff than the other rooms. It is a second rate room!
Unexpectedly beautiful location. Beautiful homestead and gardens in the scenic Free State. Comfortable, clean and tidy accommodation which all together is the right recipe for a tired traveller. The most delicious complete dinner to write home about (even if it was extra) for much less than any restaurant and that you will never even get at a restaurant! I highly recommend it.
The accommodation was neat and the large green lawn and swimming pool very welcome after a long journey with two small children. The dinner cooked by the hostess was excellent and definitely worth the money.
I was a bit scared to book at first after two negative comments. Somebody said they rang the bell but there was no one at reception... but I don't know... There were two bells and when I parked, I was welcomed. Somebody else said it's not luxurious and dirty. Can't believe people tell such lies. It's an oasis in the Karoo, the cottages are clean and gives real farm hospitality. The food is divine. Will highly recommend this place.
Apart from not being easy to find (The GPS coordinates take you on the wrong path) the "getting lost" was worth it. Beautiful surroundings with very neat accommodation.
Will definitely stay there again. Beautiful large green lawn where children could play around. Food was delicious.
Friendly welcome from Isabel. Our boys had fun exploring the farm. The swimming pool was great to cool off. We took a walk up the hill to watch the sunset, absolutely beautiful! Great views of the farm and surrounds. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. It met all our needs. Best part is of course watching the stars at night. There is a hiking route on the farm, I will recommend to the owners to mark the route, as it will maybe attract more people to walk. Will recommend this establishment to other travelers.

Not at all as described. It is dirty and not luxurious at all. Some of our worst overnight stays yet!
Reception was poor. Checked in at reception, but no one there, no bell to alert anyone of our arrival. More attention can be paid to details.
