29 guests' feedbackThere is always someone on duty. It was reassuring. Our hours there were not ordinary hours; booked very late and again booked an extra night at the last minute as well. It was a good place to stay with difficult personal circumstances.
The walls and showers are full of mold, bedding is dirty, ceilings peeling off. The only highlight of the stay was the breakfast and the cook who prepared the food. He comes from Rouxville, where my Dad grew up, he and my Dad could exchange stories over breakfast.
The lodge is clean and tidy and the lady on duty was extremely helpful. It seems that once upon a time it was a messy place, but now things are falling apart a bit, with loose bathroom "fittings", small fridges that have seen better days, cracked plates and cups, etc. The location is only good if you have to visit someone in Universitas, because otherwise you feel very unsafe as soon as you drive out the gate. Not bad for someone on a tight budget, but I didn't consider R1000 per night per room a bargain, so the prices definitely need to be adjusted.
On arrival did not have us on system. Bathroom tiles tackled.
We enjoyed our stay, the swimming pool was lovely and also there was a bar to chill.
The management allows disorder, noise and drunkenness and has no control over many of the guests. Drunk guests knock on your door in the early hours of the morning. Yelling and totally unacceptable behavior. We will never stay there again. Very bad experience. Even spoke to owner who didn't even give feedback again. Big disappointment.
Really clean and comfortable accommodation. We enjoyed a braai while swimming and the friendly dog Romeo which surprised us with its swimming abilities put a smile on our faces.

Terribly comfortable stay.
Everything you need to just rest and stretch your legs after a long journey. It was our second visit here and I will come again. Good location close to the highway.

Very clean, neat, and the host was very warm, friendly, and helpful. Was wonderful to take a dip in the pool after a long day in the car especially for our 4 year old boy. But we were very disappointed by the terrible "dinner", R170 per person burger rip off. The food was cold. Hamburger patty wasn't cooked properly, the chips was undercooked, and the creamed spinach contained sand particles. So we ate what we could because we were very hungry, we already booked dinner, and there were no other options. At about 20:00 the power went out. No one told us what was happening or offered us a lamp or candle. Basically no guests at the lodge so really, they could at least have provided a lamp or a candle. Delicious breakfast.

The room was a bit smaller than expected, and we also missed a fridge in the room. But overall, it was a cosy place. We liked the pool area.
The facilities were very clean and comfortable. The only complaint was that our one room's curtains were not dark enough and the street lights were a bit of a nuisance, but otherwise the service was very good. Will definitely stay there again.
My stay was comfortable, however I think there is room for improvement. That the amount per day excluded breakfast was only spotted after the booking was made and paid for. Also the bathroom is very stuffy and smelly and maybe air freshener / blocks / or fragrant sticks can be put to freshen up the air. The bathroom mats are also not very clean and could have been replaced or a shower towel could have been put in the bathroom. The fridge in the room freezes anything that gets put in there – it needs to be looked at.
I was slightly disappointed with the breakfast - no napkins either day. Dirty plates etc. is not taken away and there is no place to put it. Second morning there was no yogurt or fruit - someone was out shopping.
Old and worn out. Maximum rooms cramped on to a yard in a drab neighbourhood on a busy street corner. Rooms cramped and very worn out.
Was acceptable but will not go there again at all. The person who helped us was very helpful, but it's just the quality of the place that was disappointing. Greater expectations were created by the ad.
The accommodation was an oasis after the long ride from Worcester. Our reception was hospitable and friendly and they went to a lot of trouble to make our accommodation pleasant. The breakfast was five star and nicely presented. We can easily recommend this accommodation.
