Staff was very nice. Our room was neat and comfortable. Our vehicle was safe. The Road Lodge was located close to the school where we needed to be. Will definitely stay there again if we need to be in the area.

Many thanks to Road Lodge. I stayed in both lodges during the trip from Cape Town to East London, but if I can compare Cape Town to East London, I have some issues with East London. 1. The linen and bedding were not up to standard at all. For example, our duvet was two sheets with a weathered wool blanket in between, i.e. not a duvet. It was uncomfortable and it put me off. 2. The air conditioner was faulty. They did send the maintenance person, but after a while the air conditioner started malfunctioning again. The staff were also not as welcoming as in the Cape. I found them cold and impersonal compared to Cape Town's staff.

Reception staff were not very friendly. They were not helpful either. This is in contrast to what we experienced at Road Lodge East London. The rugby final was on, and after three requests the sound on the TV set in the room was fixed. I asked for a container of ice in the room as there is no fridge, and was told to get ice myself from the ice machine. We didn't have a container so we left it. Overall did not have a good experience there.
Perfect for an overnight stay. Rooms are clean with everything that you need.
Fairly direct path from the airport and bus stations, and very close to a popular shopping mall. The room was clean, well-prepared, and privacy was maintained throughout.
Enjoyed my stay and room service was perfect.
You get what you pay for. Don't expect a 5 star for the money. Friendly reception.
Arrived at 11:00 p.m. Person on duty took us to room. Slept immediately. Got up early, had breakfast and hit the road again. Everything had been basic. No complaints.
