Beautiful place. Spacious room. Neat shower and toilet facilities. The room is clean and tidy, and the few old pieces of furniture remind you of your childhood. Roamers Rest is located near the main street, so close to everything. The room is neat, comfortable and equipped with everything you could need. The owners are also very friendly. I'll grill with them anytime.

Roamers rest is the perfect overnight stop. The room is large and very spacious, much larger than I expected and what I am used to. The parking area is also safe. I would definitely stay there again if I'm in the area. Perhaps it can only be specifically mentioned that there is no TV in the room.

The owners were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms, bathrooms and gardens are very clean and tidy. The river is within walking distance and the town center a stone's throw away. The rooms are not self-catering, but do have a kettle, fridge and microwave. Sarel (the owner) arranged a braai for us and we had a great barbecue in the garden. There are so many restaurants in Paris, that there is no point in preparing food yourself. We had a lovely stay and will definitely go back, this time for a bit longer.

We booked 3 double rooms at Roamers and two rooms were transferred to the Danes next door. Rooms were very tidy but would recommend they should replace the beds and mattresses in both rooms. One would like to sleep well, but mattresses were very lumpy and one bed very clumsy.

What a pleasant surprise to be able to stay in such a perfect place (for my circumstances as a paraplegic) for 1 night. The room is spacious and very clean and tidy, as is the bathroom. No problem to come and go, as one gets one's own key for the security gate. Owners beautiful friendly people. Would not hesitate for a moment to recommend the place or to stay there again if the opportunity arises.

Was really pleasantly surprised with the accommodation and it was nice close to the town's business center just walked to town. My 2 granddaughters and I had a wonderful stay and it was nice that we could stay in 1 room.
The room we slept in had no chairs in it, just a very small table with only coffee, no tea or rooibos tea. The sink is not consumer friendly for a man who wants to shave, the water supply to the sink is also as slow as it gets. This is just a place to sleep, neat yes but that's where it ends. I think R500 per night might be a bit much for what you get.
On arrival we had to call to check in. Get message that the person is not available. After a long time a lady shows up to open the gate. She is unfriendly and says she is not the owner. She is a teacher and just helping out. Her husband is in Durban. She just hands over the key without explaining anything or offering help. No bedside lights. Only one side of the bed has a floor mat on the tiled floor. Three different coffee mugs. One teaspoon. Curtains torn. According to the advertisement, it is a charming guest house, there are barbecue areas and daily cleaning services. The braai places were not pointed out to us either and there is no further eating utensils or braai equipment in the room. Unfortunately we paid in advance for 2 nights and then only had to stay the two nights. No one came to clean the place on the second day. As we leave, the owner's father arrives. His defense is that their sign on the gate clearly shows that these are overnight rooms and not a guest house or B&B. However, it is advertised on the website as a guest house. This is the worst accommodation I have ever booked.
