We had a wonderful time at Rubert's Boathouse. The view from the cottage is breathtaking and the photos were just like on the website.
My wife and I really enjoyed it. We will certainly not forget our 31st wedding anniversary with the beautiful memories we made there. Very cute place, we will definitely visit again in the future.

Very well appointed place and good value for money! Ideal for an evening or 3 overnight stay. Quiet, safe and clean neighbourhood, also close enough to Knysna. Can see and hear the sea from your bed, just a bit far to walk but very unique place. Friendly and helpful host. Will definitely come here again.

We had an incredibly nice stay. It was a great getaway for my boyfriend and I, and being able to spend our 2 year anniversary there made it that much more special. Knysna is a very beautiful place, and that little house put the icing on the cake with its view of the sea!

We enjoyed every moment. Rudy and Albert were great hosts. Always helpful. The Boathouse is perfect for two people and you would enjoy total privacy and an excellent view! We spent two amazing weeks here and will definitely return to this little boathouse on the hill.
The boat house was an old storage place for a boat - it is very well furnished and nicely done with a lovely view! It is not set up for loadshedding at all (all kitchen appliances are electric), so look carefully at the schedule or maybe eat out instead. Everything you could possibly need is there - from a vacuum to a steam pot, so there is actually very little space to cook and put your things down. Definitely a very cute place, perfect for our 2 nights there. They are pet friendly and our cat and dog were together, note that there is an outside seating area, but it is not enclosed or fenced at all, so we mostly had the critters inside and on a leash.

The TV could not be used. Wifi signal said too weak. The white pillowcases had sweat stains on it. My husband always takes his own pillow because he prefers it but upon lifting the blue top pillow the white one underneath had bad sweat stains on it.
Very convenient option for overnight stay. Nice view. Friendly reception. A little far from the sea. The photo is a bit misleading. The cooking facilities need urgent attention. The cutlery drawer is dirty and full of crumbs, and most of the cutlery has rust marks. The drying rack and all the other steel items are rusted. Maybe they should consider using plastic. The toaster was very dirty and I didn't get the chance to use it.
It was the small personal touches that made it so memorable. Cherries dipped in dark chocolate, a first for me, and wow is all I can say, treats for our dog Luna who travelled with us, and of course the Christmas pies! If you are looking for somewhere to just put your head down it is perfect. Beautiful views as well as walking distance to the beach and a nature walk in the reserve right next door.

It is a small house in its own right. Couldn't believe what they could fit in there. Clean, tidy and fully equipped. I will definitely come again.
The Boathouse is compact but very comfortable and well equipped. We had a very nice stay. Rudi was very hospitable and helpful and made us feel very welcome. It was lovely to drink coffee in bed in the morning with such a beautiful view of the sea. We will definitely be back!

The room is on the smaller side, but didn't need more space. The view is stunning, its in a great location, overlooking the sea, the sea view image does make it look like it's directly on the beach but it is about 3 streets away, perched on the hillside, however, it is a 10minute walk to the beach and several restaurants. I wish we had an extra night or two there. Rubert was great to deal with, super friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
It's basically an old boathouse/single garage that has been converted into a beautiful place to stay. It's completely away from the main house and therefore very private. Although it is quite cramped, there is everything one needs to spend the night in beautiful surroundings.
Like the view will definitely come next time again.
