The 10 chalets are perfect for the first night’s stopover or for those just wanting to make use of the pont. They are built in the style of an old mining camp and equipped with air-conditioning, a fridge and 2-plate electric stoves. The front porches all have views over the Orange (Gariep) River. The nearby camping site is basic and enclosed. A 4x4 high clearance vehicle is required.
Sendelingsdrif Rest Camp also offers a swimming pool, and a small supply store.

16 guests' feedbackVery nice stay. It's only the road to and from the park that is in a very bad condition.
The Richtersveld is an incredible experience. It was nice to be able to saddle up after a long day's riding in a neat place with air conditioning with a view of the mighty Orange River.
Cottages are well equipped with everything needed for a good night's rest and a few days' stay.
Wonderful service, clean and tidy. Beautiful surroundings.
Everything neat and clean. Amenities and equipment great.
For the rough roads to it, you need to have at least a little bit of a spirit of discovery in you and really possess the ability to admire the beauty in the region. Although I don't have a 4x4 vehicle I was able to drive quite off the roads and for example visit Potjiespram with a road that almost any tall vehicle can drive. However, ground clearance is very important. Of course, the 20% discount on booking also helped.
Challenging passes, rapids, sandy roads, swimming in the Orange River, heat and untouched nature - you experience it.
Please do not use as a place to stay if Pont is closed. Website directions not up to standard.
Stay over camp, is okay and has a beautiful view over the Orange River.
Park Board is doing a good job. Just a pity the shop didn't have any wood during our visit. We were helped by the camp manager with wood. Thank you very much!
The ride on the ferry over the river was the highlight! Very nice stay in the chalets.
It will be nice if SANparks can run a restaurant here. It will be such a great setting.
Oh, we should have stayed longer.
This was the second time that we stayed at Sendelingsdrif and have enjoyed it as much as the first time. Richtersveld is an amazing area! The cottage was perfect, except that the shower drain of cottage Number 10 was not working properly, even though I had mentioned this at the reception. The rest was in perfect condition and perfect for our 3 nights stay.
We really liked the peaceful atmosphere, disappointed that ablutions did not include toilet paper like other Sanparke units. No night guard or security at the gate made us uneasy, especially when we could hear the neighbors' music and talk late at night. We would also have preferred a campsite with a view of the river. We expected to be standing on lawns as advertised on the website. We liked the peaceful atmosphere and showers' water was hot and facilities clean and functional.
