Excellent stay, Shirley is a very friendly and helpful hostess, the location is quiet and safe, with a beautiful view, everything is clean and tidy, spacious room, beautiful bathroom with hot shower and decent big towels, not the small washcloths that you don't get in other places but towels, and a delicious breakfast. The breakfast is top notch and when you order dinner, no restaurant can match it. There are very few places that are really pet friendly, but this place is definitely highly recommendable. I slept at Shirley's place 4 nights, it was awesome. I enjoyed my time there. I struggled with uber. Shirley took me from her place to my destination for 5 days. She is such a wonderful person. Her breakfast is delicious. Everything was perfect.
The only thing they needs to improve is to install a remote gate motor as getting off the car at night, use the small gate to get inside the yard to open the bigger gate is not very safe. There was no WiFi connectivity in the room I was staying at. That needs to be improved.

I left late and was still working on the way to Shirley's. Been in contact with owner all the time and told that I will be late. She waited for me until 21:00 and still received me kindly. I will definitely stay there again for longer next time and take my family with me. The view was fantastic in the evening.

The location is lovely and quiet, a bit far from main attractions but offers you a glimpse into every day life in Cape Town. The food and service was warm and charming.

Our room and bathroom was very convenient and neat. There was coffee, tea and rusks available. However, there was no rooibos tea and I would strongly recommend that all guest houses have some since it is a product of South Africa. Shirley is very friendly and helpful and her breakfast was delicious. The house is in a very calm part of Brackenfell with a beautiful view of Table Mountain and the Peninsula. Great hospitality. Shirley's Place is ideally located with special view over the city and Table Mountain op the horizon.
The owners are considerate. The place itself needs possible adjustments and attention, like the rooms need TV. In the future, families may check in with children and then it might be good if there are more private rooms so that everyone can sleep together under one roof, but enjoy privacy. Furthermore, I really enjoyed my time.

The rates are affordable. There is certainly warmth and hospitality. However, cleanliness and general communication is an issue with room for improvement.
First of all I just want to say thank you to Shirley. She received guests very late in the evening. However, upon arrival my manager had to find out there was only 1 room available and we had booked 2. Money was put in her hand and told they made a mistake and she had to sleep on a sofa bed and has a bad back problem so she didn't have a good experience.
Everything went smoothly and Shirley was fantastic. Highly recommended.
