This wonderful farm cottage gives you a small taste of farm life. It's great for small kids as there is plenty of space to run around and many things to do. It's in very close proximity to the farm animals which was great for the kids. The house was neat and well-equipped. Was a great weekend all around.
The farmhouse was really so neat, clean and everything in its place. Would just love a gas plate for power outages, especially if you wake up in the morning and there is no power. There was gas for the geyser, appreciated. Farm feeling wonderful, flowers on farm very interesting. Really enjoyed it on the farm. Would just love WiFi.
Soul light is an absolute gem. Wessel and Marietjie must open a university with all their knowledge of plants, proteases, livestock and whatnot. It was great to learn new things. Soulful is exactly what it says. Soulful. Wonderfully quiet with only nature, with chirping birds, sheep and Bremans that naturally break the peace. We squinted for hours at the finches that built a nest. So innovative. The house is so beautifully furnished with real home feel furniture and everything one needs. The braai room is great. Roasted every night. Had a great time.
Thank you for the amazing weekend. It was incredibly scenic, very cosy, and the hosts were extremely accommodating. My granddaughter was very fond of the animals and being able to see all the animals that she learns about at school.
We loved waking up to the sounds of cattle and sheep. The farmer takes such good care of his animals, it's really special to see. The farmer's wife was more than accommodating. We loved our stay.

Amidst and surrounded by the most beautiful Brahmins and farm life. Nicest braai facilities and most helpful farmers as hosts! In an acorn forest and the rustle of eucalyptus leaves as the wind moves through it! Stars, tranquility what more could you ask for?
It was so wonderful to come to a farm where you are connected to nature by two beautiful people. Wessel and Marietjie were very friendly, helpful and down to earth people. We had a lovely stay in the cute farmhouses and were able to experience a piece of the surroundings every day. The world around is unique, beautiful and so unique to South Africa. Many thanks to everyone who made the holiday a dream. Will definitely use the web page again and I hope that one day we can get back to Sielsalig.
Value for money is really too short a description. Hospitality was of invaluable quality, and the story behind the farm and the guest house is inspiring. Will definitely take and refer family and friends to it.

Wessel and Marietjie really went out of their way to help us with whatever we needed - from picking up a lost traveler on Elim to a delicious farm breakfast in their home so we could watch the rugby with them. We were also pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the house and the farm is absolutely beautiful. Our boy also enjoyed the friendly dogs very much.
Soulful is the type of place you just don't want to drive. Wessel and Marietjie are people who care and make sure your time there is special. If I could, I'd be there again right now.

We had an incredible time at Sielsalig over the Christmas period. The house is stocked with everything needed and is super neat. Marietjie and Wessel are always around to check in if anything is needed. The farm is peaceful and serene, and it was great interacting with the animals. It's an easy drive to all the nearby beaches and easy access to Pearly Beach, Gansbaai and Agulhas. We will definitely be back to this amazing place!

The place is great, the owners are fantastic, friendly and helpful, I recommend Sielsalig to anyone. Beautiful farm and lots to do and see in the area. Als is neat and functional with a nice peaceful feeling.
Marietjie and Wessel were so friendly, hospitable and generous with their time and space. The cottage was clean and well appointed and so comfortable we could have happily stayed much longer. We enjoyed walks and the fun farm environment for the kids, as well as daytrips to beaches and nearby wine farms. We cant wait for our next visit!
The place is definitely a break from the hustle and bustle of the city. If you want to wake up in the morning to the crowing of a chicken and all kinds of farm sounds, then this is the place to do it. The house is well furnished with everything needed.

Neat, clean, well run protea farm. As a retired engineer/architect, I found the structure and neatness of the farm, and the possible camping site, impeccable! Youngsters that build it up from scratch in merely 20 years! Well done Wessel and Marietjie! Friendly and kind hosts. Interior was great. Thankful there was no TV as one needs to get away from all the modern gadgets! Best compliment was that a new born calf was named after me! (Don't call me a cow ... Haha!) Loved every moment.
Visiting farm Akkersdrift was definitely one of our highlights of 2019. Marietjie and Wessel are really particularly hospitable and go out of their way to show the farm and business of flowers. A walk on a farm and a view up to Elim and surroundings is food for the soul. Staying at Sielsalig is elegant, cozy and everything you need. One day was too short so make sure you stay longer.
Soulful is wonderful, it is peaceful and safe. The only sounds are the cattle bellowing, the chickens cackling and crowing and the geese walking by with their meal. I would recommend it for sure. Wessel and Marietjie are lovely and make an effort with the guests. We really enjoyed the weekend away.

Wessel and Marietjie's hospitality exceeded our expectations. The farm is beautiful and time stands still. The large porch was our hangout. The pool and mud pond kept the children busy.
We go away a lot for weekends to get away from the stress and pace of the city. We have stayed in many places in the country over the years but Sielsalig had something special about it. I can't put my finger on it but let's just say it left me totally relaxed and made me want to have my own little farm in the country one day. Marietjie and Wessel are amazing people. They are genuine down to earth people who made us feel like we were part of the farm. This was better than taking a chill pill. The memories will stay with me forever.
We had an incredible night at Sielsalig. Can't wait to go back again. What incredible people and place to share with our busy city people. The children could be children a bit, run around, ride bikes, feed calves and just take in the peace. Cottage was beautiful and had everything we needed. Even little surprises were waiting for us and we could even take home the most beautiful bunches of flowers. I think a piece of my heart stayed behind.

We really enjoyed soulful self-care. The unit is well equipped and spotless! Marietjie was so kind to welcome us with sweet wine and chocolate for the cold weather. The farm animals and farm atmosphere were an experience. The beautiful farm cat was a highlight, we enjoyed her so much. Will definitely want to go again!
We will definitely return here as the cottage is perfectly located close to Agulhas National Park where we do environmental work. The cottage is comfortable with everything one needs. It was suitable for a big group (6 people), and we didn't mind sharing one bathroom.
We lived quietly in the house. Everything you may need is available. It's lovely to sit on the porch and look out over the oak trees. Marietjie and Wessel are friendly, pleasant people. Thank you very much for the 2 days of tranquility.
Visiting the cottage on the 2nd day of the new year, we did not know what to expect. The photos don't do it any justice, the cottage was very neat, clean and well decorated. It was equipped with all we need and more. Our host and his wife warmly welcomed us to their home and ensured we felt safe and comfortable. The farmer even took my boys to feed the cows, such a special place with a wonderful story and a real inspiration. I have already recommended it to many people, not only because of the setting and proximity to the beach for day trips, but because the host's are such lovely people - who made out 4 night stay magical.

Marietjie and Wessel, your cottage is beautifully furnished, with everything you need and more. Although we were there very briefly, we enjoyed it incredibly. One actually wants it to remain a secret, that it can remain so intact, but how can we want to keep it to ourselves now?
We were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and value for money. The owners' personal attention is a big bonus! We will surely go again to enjoy the tranquility.
