84 guests' feedbackAccommodation was outstanding in every way. Location is a very big advantage, only a 5-7 minute drive to Haenertsburg.
We had a great time resting in the tranquility of nature.
Fantastic place, beautiful nature and everything you need.
Friendly reception with very helpful staff. Fully equipped kitchen for campers' use, including kettle, fridge/freezer, toaster and stove (4 plates with oven) as well as washing facilities.
Location takes your breath away and it's perfect to disconnect and recharge.

We had a wonderful stay! Quiet and clean.
Definitely had a nice stay.
Very friendly service and neat and clean place.
It was incredibly pleasant. Except the rooms were not that great, but the scenery was definitely amazing.
Silver Mist Resort is very nice, nice view of the river, quiet and tidy!
Lovely. The tent light was loose and did not work the entire time. Otherwise, it was comfortable.
It is a very nice place, where the sheep come to graze near your home. Although everything is neat, I think the owner can start renovation work again.
Cleanliness and maintenance need attention.
We had a very nice stay. The children enjoy the animals very much. Attention can be given to the drain outside unit number 11. The smell was unpleasant.
I am disappointed with our stay during the weekend. I have visited Silver Mist several times in the past few years and it was rather pleasant. The scenery was as always beautiful and the terrain and facilities are well kept. On arrival Friday afternoon we had to ask around for somebody to assist us with booking in. Eventually, a man dressed in a dirty overall, without introducing himself and/or welcoming us, told us where our chalet is. What bothered me the most is that on Saturday we could not sit and relax on our front porch because right in front of us was a gardener digging holes to plant Aloes. This took him the entire day. I specifically asked for a chalet with a view on the water and what I got is a gardener digging holes and planting Aloes. Early Sunday morning we were awoken by two workers (gardeners) shouting at each other right in front of our chalet. My concerns, in my view, are not acceptable and should be brought to the attention of the owner.
We slept one night in the permanent tents. The beds and bedding were of very poor quality. Would not recommend it.
Lovely stay and beautiful resort!
The nature, view and the horses are beautiful. The cottages are neat and good value for money. However, the kitchenettes are not very well equipped and could do with a little more crockery such as salad bowls, serving bowls and more glasses.
We enjoyed out stay and will gladly visit again!
An amazing stay with friendly staff. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway. Thanks to the Silver Mist team.
My permanent sleepover when I visit Haenertsburg and Tzaneen's world due to sports activities for my child. I don't want to spend the night anywhere else. Only at Silvermist Resort.
It was a very pleasurable stay. The staff members are all very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be booking in again sometime soon!
Silvermist was one of the better places we have stayed in Magoebaskloof. It is safe, peaceful and there is something for everyone in the family to do. From horse riding, fishing, hiking trails and visiting the animals at the 'petting zoo'. The nature is breathtakingly beautiful. We will definitely go again. Dylan the manager was very helpful and went out of his way to make us feel at home.
The staff at Silver Mist are very friendly and the accommodation is well-kept and clean.
Most beautiful horses and parrots, wonderful to be able to walk safely in the fresh mountain air.
Honestly very nice and a great experience, but some improvements could be made. The one jetty in front of our chalet required repairs. In addition, there was a worker cutting the lawn on a Sunday morning which may disturb some guests.
Only negative was the water pressure is low and there was not enough hot water, lady came to sort it out, hot water was back but pressure makes you not shower well, then hot then cold. On Sunday, the power didn't work in the kitchen, but we left too early to report it, the bedroom's was on, the kettle was able to cook there. I would leave some kindling for the fireplace in the unit to make it easier to burn, otherwise nice.
Lovely, comfortable accommodation in a quiet environment.
Most beautiful resort and rooms are clean and tidy. Arranged to arrive late by email, although on arrival we had to wait 20 minutes for someone to help us get the key to the accommodation. The person we had to call didn't answer the phone twice, but luckily the security person got hold of someone and helped us.
Silver Mist is barely 2 km from Haenerstburg which makes it the perfect location. The chalets are well equipped and everything you might need is there, you also get wood for a fire every day. There is also Wifi which is sufficient for most uses. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, but it can be a bit of a problem to get hold of someone. And then the maintenance of facilities is not what it could be. The 'piers' you can fish on are pretty lame and the outside lights and power points are not up to any standard.
The jetties for fishing are rotten and unusable, unsafe for use.
Friendly service, great location.
We had a really nice stay at Silver Mist, except that it feels like the guards don't respect one's privacy. One understands and appreciates that they keep us safe at the Resort but to walk across our front porch twice every night while we visit and say hello doesn't even feel a bit like our privacy is not taken into account. I would suggest that if there are guests in a cottage, the guards walk a little wider around the porch than to walk between me and my husband while we are barbecuing. Furthermore, the houses are very nice with everything you need and the view of the dam is breathtaking.
Pleasantly surprised! Will definitely go again.
If you are looking for a place where you can get quiet and peaceful again, this is definitely an option. Although loadshedding, as everywhere, was a reality, it was made sure we had lights and plenty of wood for the cold, wet weather. My kids love the fact that they can rub and feed horses in their pj's and the fish ponds are also a hit. both also pulled out a fish there (March). The bonus is that Haenertsburg is just around the corner and don't forget the Debengeni falls either!
Beautiful rooms and surroundings, cleaned every day. Will definitely stay there again.
Absolutely love the serenity and the breathtaking surroundings of the resort. Great place to make your base as you explore the surroundings.
Wonderful and amazing stay and all needs were met with regards to accommodation, accessibility and activities in and around the resort. Would return in a heartbeat.
Was nice and enjoyed it.
We stayed here as a group of friends for one night. It was a last minute booking but the place exceeded my expectations. It was nice and neat.
It was a nice little house but the power was a problem. We had no power.
Accommodation, beautiful surrounds, lots to do, lovely people.
Very well-equipped cottage, with all the amenities, especially the fireplace in the living area (for winter evenings), and privacy in a very nice setting with great views. Perfectly located, just 3 km from Haenertsburg, with short trips to all the wonderful scenery and venues of the Magoebaskloof.
Beautiful location and private in a peaceful setting.
Would have loved to stay longer for hiking and fishing.
This was our second stay. The only recommendation would be spare blankets in the winter months - 3 bedroom only had 2. There are no wine glasses, only champagne flutes.
See stars.
Beautiful place, more suitable for a getaway than for business purposes but was absolutely worth it.
Great space in unit. Beautiful view. Friendly staff.
Fishing was fun. Also enjoyed the horse rides. The surroundings and things to do there were a blast. Very nice food in the area.
Bathrooms were in terrible condition. And sewage leaked onto the grass next to the building. And people played loud music, which we had to complain about constantly. This is while it was specified as part of the rules that no noise or loud music will be allowed.
Faucet in kitchen broken, toilet flushes badly, bedding in spare room dirty. Sorry, such a nice area, but cottage was dirty.
The view was fantastic.
It was peaceful and really very beautiful.
Just perfect. Genuine friendliness and hospitality.
The tent houses offer excellent value for money and are perfect for lazy campers as the tent is already pitched and bedding is provided.
A great place where my wife and I have stayed on various occasions. We have brought friends and family members to Silver Mist, who have equally enjoyed their stay. My wife and I highly recommend Silver Mist.
Our booking was not on the list when we arrived and I booked 2x 4 bedrooms 2 months in advance, which were not placed next to each other.
Silver Mist is definitely recommended for any couple, or even family, for a peaceful getaway. Many play places for children and they will enjoy the horses, horse rides and birds, which are in the cages. We stayed in one of the new units overlooking the banks of the dam. The units are equipped with everything he needs to facilitate your time there. It is also very neatly done and it feels luxurious. I do have 2 complaints: 1. The sewage system of the unit we stayed in is faulty. As soon as you flush the toilet, the sewage water bubbles up in the shower. The water is also not removed quickly enough from the shower, which causes the water to pool. 2. The covered parking is a plus point. However, the unit we stayed in has VERY good parking. We were there with a van and I had to point out my husband every time he drove out. It's comfortable for a small vehicle, but an SUV and van don't really fit.
We stayed in one of their tents which was really hot inside during daytime and not offering a lot for the price we paid. The two single beds can be replaced with a double bed. The ablutions are a distance away with the communal kitchen. The braai don't have a light. Will make use of the camping facility next time.
Great location, will visit again.
We had a wonderful stay in a newly renovated Chalet (nr 13). Great view of the mountain. Enjoyed the horse riding!
The chalets have recently been redone inside, so everything is new and modern. The farm is beautiful and the surroundings are beautiful and is definitely value for money.
We were so kindly received and the weekend was only a WhatsApp help. We got wood every day for the fireplace and braai. My daughter and I went horse riding, it was great fun. The horses are so beautifully taught and have beautiful temperament.
The accommodation is clean and neat. Beautiful inside. The area is beautiful on the banks of the Broeders River. We had an unbelievable time. Horse riding in the morning in the mountains was amazing.
Nice facilities and clean. Will definitely want to come back again.
We had a great time, the children fished and roamed around. The houses are nicely furnished and tidy with large lawns and beautiful trees.
Perfectly located with great facilities and a picturesque setting.
The photos on the website do not come close to what it really is.
Our stay over the Easter weekend was amazing. Everything was beautiful and clean and the manager, Rob, was very helpful. The view from our chalet was incredible. The helpers with the horses were very friendly and helpful. Die children enjoyed riding the horses. Just a few suggestions: We had no braai tongs. There's also not enough light out by the braai area. Need more hanging space for towels in the bathrooms. The sink in the kitchen has a leak somewhere, it smells mouldy. Both rooms' main lights and fans didn't work. Only one bedside lamp worked. We'll definitely coming back again!
The break we needed, thank you.
Silvermist is located in a very nice area. All I would recommend is that there be locks on the bathroom and bedroom doors. The unit we got didn't have it. Also when we got there we had to wait a while for someone to help us, but otherwise the stay was very nice.
Very peaceful and pleasant stay, enjoyed by all.
The units are far enough apart to ensure privacy. Everyone has a beautiful view. Units are fully equipped and electric blanket was a great treat in the cold.
Very nice, safe and peaceful! But was very disappointed in the ponds which were so full of grass that bass fishing was almost impossible. Would love to go again but then they must have removed grass from ponds as it was a big draw for our booking.
See stars.
We had a great stay and it is beautiful and good value for money. Children really enjoyed nature, caught fish and rode horses 10/10! I do have a suggestion - we had small children, in front of unit 1 there was a high cliff, a bit dangerous although there is a fence, the rest of the units are very child friendly, would rather stay in one of them. The oven and stove had no settings (unit 1), had a few accidents and could not get food cooked.
Once again a lovely, peaceful getaway. Silver Mist is a beautiful, quiet getaway in the mountains. The chalets are fully equipped and very clean and tidy.
Nice, clean and well-equipped units overlooking the mountain and pond. Thank you Etienne for your kind welcome.
Outstanding location, quick service, beautiful and clean accommodation.
We only stayed one night. The rooms do not have mirrors so you can blow hair and do make up.
