Foldback doors open from the lounge and kitchen area, to the outdoor deck with its loungers and barstool seating area, which also boasts a separate braai deck and viewing seat, situated to the side of the cabin.
To add to the experience of staying at the cabin, yoga mats and outdoor towels are provided, along with a hairdryer and generous blankets for cooler evenings. Amazing apartment, beautifully furnished, well kitted out and extremely clean! And the views are out of this world. Silverlake Cabin is inspirational. The massive windows overlooking the lake create the impression of endless space. There is everything you need in the kitchen – including an expresso coffee pot and a trusty Le Creuset frying pan. The birdlife and lake allow for sensational photography. We left enriched by the environment, carefully selected books and magazines to peruse, and just the sheer enjoyment of attention to detail. It is ideal for a cosy getaway for two! Thank you, Leigh, for advising about shopping, fishing spots and load shedding (not that we noticed because you have a backup system)!
What a wonderful place, it's as if, when you come through the gate, you enter another world. A commanding position overlooking the lake, graced with a wide variety of birds that kept us amused for hours. The cabin itself is well appointed, with great attention to detail making it a very comfortable place to stay. With good access to Wilderness and beyond it really is a very special place to stay.

The cabin is not big, but large enough for a couple and well designed with great attention for detail. The deck is a great place to enjoy the beauty of the lake and river and the birds in the vicinity. Leigh was very friendly and accommodating. We truly enjoyed our stay.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Silverlake Cabin for 3 nights over Christmas and we struggled to find something that offered us the overall getaway experience. This place was exactly what we were looking for! It's not just a place to rest your head but a cabin experience with the most amazing views. The cabin is fully equipped, from water bottles with mint in the fridge to a mosquito machine for at night. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to utilise the braai but hope to be back for this next time! Thank you Hettie and Leigh for such a lovely hospitable stay and for the thoughtful items to make our stay more comfortable! See you soon, I hope!
Nicely centrally located between Knysna and George. Beautiful view, everything you need.
You know you have an amazing place when all you want to do is be at the cabin. We didn't even go exploring the surrounding areas, because the location of this cabin was everything we wanted. Beautiful views, amazing wildlife, a real sense of tranquility. The perfect get away for a few days of peacefulness.

This is owing to the sensitive indigenous vegetation and high fire risk area of Wilderness in general.The cabin is for guests only, and no visitors may be entertained while staying at the cabin.
Parties and loud music are prohibited while staying at Silverlake in order to be respectful of the peace and tranquillity of the area in general.
