The owner's hospitality made us feel right at home. The place is very spacious and tidy.
It was definitely worth it for us to be able to spend the night at Starry Nights. Room is well furnished and very very neat.
Thank you, would like to talk further with the owner about small things that could improve them and the place a lot. It's typically a place that has a lot of potential but is not nicely rounded. It's a place that was built from something else but that is not nicely rounded. One example is the boiler that needs to be switched on under the slab. The plug sits in an awkward place and the cheap plastic kettle is difficult to use. It's neat and clean but would be much better with finishing.
This place is "entry level" with guest houses. Not a comfortable night's rest at all.
Very pleasant. The host was very professional. Even booking a seat at one of the restaurants, for us to have supper, the day we arrived.
The owners went out of their way to assist us with early occupation. The accommodation was clean. There was a provision made for load shedding. Will recommend it to my friends.

Talked to Helga and know they still want to sort out the smaller things like, boiler's power closer to plug, shower leaking and was a bit cool in room but it's the Karoo, maybe needs a little heater. We had a nice stay and Helga was very helpful.
Very neat, but very small. We had no water 90% of the time, as well as no provision for loadshedding except the WiFi which was on. We had to check loadshedding times ourselves, we were not told. Would have appreciated a little more interaction from owners. For 1 night it is suitable, but not in a few days.

Just make sure that you make your reservations in advance at the available restaurants in Middelburg. There aren't really any Takeaways places should you prefer to do meals like that.
Lovely and pleasant place.
The hostess is extremely friendly. And they put on a generator with load shedding. The TV was broken, but they are replacing it. But the shower was clogged with hair, so much so that the water wouldn't even drain. We used it as a rest stop on the way to vacation. The beds were so noisy that we didn't sleep much.

Easy to find place and safe. No noise from cars or dogs. People are very friendly and helpful, Would recommend anytime to anyone traveling in that area.

We were received very kindly, it is very clean, tidy and comfortable, there is safe parking for the vehicle, it was the ideal place to spend the night, easily accessible.
It was nice, there was loadshedding during our stay, they could do with a gas stove, our hostess had to bring us hot water every now and then. Very friendly and helpful.
While we were glad to get a last-minute booking in the early evening, this was not the most comfortable stay for us. Photos give a better impression than reality. We would (1) change the very old mattress, (2) don't use a very static blanket under the duvet, (3) make a flat sheet available for warm nights, and (4) defrost the freezer compartment. That said, security was excellent, close to the highway, and Helga is a friendly host.
It met our requirements, a warm bed and hot shower/bath. Safe parking and the cutest two puppies. I will definitely use them again.
A few suggestions would be to have some soap in the shower or at the basin as we didn’t have any with us and expected this to be supplied. Also maybe make sure the geyser switches on in time for guests to have a shower when they arrive as my girls were freezing and went to shower and the geyser hadn’t been switched on yet so they were super cold. The water was nice and warm once it heated up.
Clean, tidy and basic accommodation for one night.
Up until 9:30 in the evening it was a noise all the time with the garage door(s) and the sliding gate. As well as a movement and noise in the adjacent house. It sounded like someone was moving. And from 5:30 the next morning exactly the same. I do not want to denigrate the accommodation under any circumstances, but the guests' stay could be handled with much more respect.

Very secure, the pictures on the website is a complete different picture, for self-catering there was no microwave, no kitchen, no iron available in order to iron clothes for a funeral. The cupboards of the guesthouse is used for personal storage, the place is just for a night's sleepover to rest, need a upgrade to have the basic necessities of a guesthouse.

Customer service was friendly. The room provided to us does not have tiles as in the photos but a very dirty and shabby carpet. The beds and bedding are not up to standard. The sofa in the room is incredibly dirty with cigarette burns. The toilet's wooden seat is past its lifespan. Definitely not hygienic. The shower wall was tackled. Clearly not cleaned in a very long time. Pool is too dirty for use. Unfortunately was not a pleasant stay experience.

Ons waardeer dat ons laat laat inklok en vroeg uitklok en dat ons ons motor en sleepwa veilig agter 'n geslote hek kon parkeer. Hou van die beskuit en tee / koffie / melk wat beskikbaar is as iets om te eet vroeg in die oggend.

Very friendly service, very nice for an overnight trip to Cape Town, neatly and well equipped.
Hostess and her son very friendly and helpful. Bathroom needs a lot of attention and should be redone. Backyard where pool and second room are, is very messy and looks like a junkyard. Luckily we slept in the front room. Very quiet and peaceful environment and can only recommend it for an affordable overnight stay.

This is a safe place. Unfortunately the place had recently been painted and the smell was not pleasant. Running water was a problem. I feel like the cupboards that are not meant for guests can get locks on them, my little one will be digging in them all the time. Fortunately, he traveled with his grandmother. The unit itself is cute. Pool was not clean to standard. I think if Helga had been there everything would have been very different.
Place stank of wet dogs running around the place, as well as cat urine. Dog and cat hair was everywhere on the couch. No preparations had been made for our arrival. No one knew we were on our way.

Hospitable owner who was very accommodating by letting us check in an hour earlier. Room was clean and tidy although there were not 2 single beds as advertised but only 1 single bed and a sofa bed. The owner put a mobile air cooling system in the room for us which we were very grateful for. WiFi reception in room is not good.
Very nice for the price, we just wanted to spend the night, on our way to the Eastern Cape. However, the room is very cramped, they can take out the hanging cupboard, it's quite unnecessary. Also lots of dining room chairs. Owners were very helpful when the power went out. They provided safe parking for our car, which we appreciated because our van has a canvas hood that can be easily opened.
It was the perfect stop and sleepover destination. The unit was tidy and the host was very accommodating.
A fairly small room with 1 double and two single beds. Bathroom up two high steps, difficult for elderly. The bed was nice, comfy and warm on a cold night and heater did the warming job also.

Starry Nights was a fantastically-priced overnight spot on our way to the coast. It's very basic with no table/chairs or bar fridge/microwave, so one needs to eat in town. And we struggled with the very big pillows so ended up sleeping without pillows, which was a bit uncomfortable. But for the price it was perfect. The room is done up very nicely and with kids it's great to have both a bath and shower option. It was also perfect for our dogs as there's a closed off grassy section for them. We enjoyed the coffee and rusks in the morning before heading off again. Helga was very friendly and helpful, thank you for the hospitality!

We had a nice stay. Hostess treated us wonderfully and looked after us well. Unfortunately, the bathroom was just not very clean.
It is advertised as a self catering unit but there is no fridge, microwave etc. in the unit. It was very inconvenient to barbecue at the owners' place. A suggestion is that they set up braai facilities outside the door leading from the corridor to the outside for the guests.
Starry Nights' sleeping area was neat, 2 chairs can be very handy for the guests. Bathroom could be cleaner, especially at the faucets and sink. Privacy can also be improved.
One window only had lace curtains, so no privacy at night and letting in lots of light. No electric blanket as stated. Travelling with a small child that needed a bath, but no plug for bath. Accommodation is located against the existing dwelling resulting in a lot of noise. No chair to sit or table for self catering.
Room that opens directly onto the street with just a sliding door and security gate. Access to a garden and other facilities is inconvenient, but the accommodation is very affordable and the room itself is spacious enough. A fridge for travelers to store milk and cold water would definitely help.
