2 guests' feedbackDespite the cold and gloomy Boland winter weather, we had a wonderful stay and slept nice and warm. We made fires, played board games and explored the surrounding wine farms. We will definitely want to return in the warmer months because that nice porch and hammock need to be tested! The self-check-in arrangement works really well and the communication beforehand was excellent throughout, as well as all the tips that are passed on to make your stay better. facilitating the solar energy consumption, hot water system and the operation of the fan in the fireplace chimney. The weekend was one for the books!
What a wonderful place! The view, and all the visiting and talking places so that you can see the view all the time. And the shower! Feels like standing outside. Magic. And the house has everything one needs, and more. We had 4x4 vehicles, so the road and dirt were not bad for us. Thank you for a peaceful, good for the soul visit.

House rules
There is approximately 300 m of gravel road that most ordinary cars will be able to handle. However, it is very steep and the host recommends that you do it during daylight hours.Pets are not allowed.
Limited solar power is available, however, this is extremely dependent on the weather. Sunny days will see large amounts of electricity while very cloudy days may have next to no power. The duration of the solar power depends on the usage of the individual guest, however, when the batteries are full (i.e. after a sunny day), it should be sufficient to power lights, charge cell phones and other small devices as reasonably necessary. In the event that there is no power, oil lanterns are available but please bring along anything else you may need.
Please note that when there is no power, it will affect the water pressure in the cabin which is pressurised by a pump that requires electricity to operate. Low water pressure results in difficulty achieving hot water which means that it may potentially result in there being no hot water.
All of the water in the cabin is pumped from an aquifer in the nature reserve and nearby rivers. The host does not carry out any tests on the water. If you do not feel comfortable drinking the water, they strongly recommend bringing your own drinking water with you.
As the cabins run on solar power, there is no oven or microwave.
No open fires are allowed outside the cabin whatsoever, with the exception of the gas braai provided. This includes the use of any matches or lighters outside of the cabin.
Loud music that may be a disturbance to the neighbours is not allowed. Please be cognisant of the fact you will be staying in a nature reserve and there are other sounds you may enjoy hearing.
Child policy:
Children are welcome and will count towards the total capacity of 6 guests.
Be aware that there are 2 elevated landings with partial railings that could potentially be a danger for children who are not mindful.
