We had such a wonderful stay and could just relax. The owner Dawie and family's hospitality was excellent, we felt very welcome. The unit is very well equipped and quite cozy and warm for the winter. We also had a lovely walk around the farm and saw many goats, the dogs were also a great treat for us. With solar power and other alternative power at our disposal in the unit, we didn't even know about load shedding. The late night boma fire under the stars was of course our highlight!
Excellently equipped, neat and beautiful rondavel with private porch, carport and braai boma. All located in a beautiful and neat garden full of surprising intimate places to hang out. A hidden gem. Dawie, you thorn.
Dawie was a good host.
We want to thank Dawie for welcoming us with open arms. He met us at the gate on our arrival, very friendly and immediately took us for a tour in and around the Villa. We tell about all the animals and hiking trails, about the 'things to do' in the area. We had a very nice time. Braai facilities excellent, 'pool table' kept everyone busy. The load shedding did not affect us terribly. The TV is on a UPS for those who want to use it. I will go back for another break. Thank you very much Dawie. It was 'great'.

Dawie was very hospitable and friendly, explained how things worked and showed where everything was. The boma and braai place, everything is neat and clean, well furnished, everything you need is in the chalet. It's very private and your privacy is very respected, it's nice in the woods, will definitely visit again. Thank you Dawie, it was very good service.
Awesome stay at the Villa, makes quick weekend getaways easy and fuss-free with everything you need for a comfy stay. Oom Dawie has even accommodated for load shedding with a battery and emergency lights throughout.

The Rondawel is not one tiny thing, it's spacious and linen, the kitchen accessories, fridge, stove and braai places are all sufficient. Gardens are quite a treat for the eyes and you can tire your legs out walking on the farm. Or just sit and rest. Owner is available should you insist on anything. What was the most wonderful thing about the visit for me is that there is a feeling that there is no one around or near you. The dirt road between Moloto highway is not long and well maintained. However, the vegetation in the area is sufficient that the road's traffic is not disturbing. Sufficient wings for photography for the season we visited. Definitely a worthy place in my opinion. Would definitely book there again!
Extremely clean and tidy, would definitely recommend. Hospitably and kindly received, wonderfully rested and relaxed. Dawie just a recommendation to maybe improve the 1st braai area a bit, maybe put a roof or umbrella there, it can get a bit too hot.

Many thanks to Oom Dawie who spoiled the 2 boys so much with the quad bike and going to feed the goats! It was their highlight and the tears flowed when we had to go home! Any parent couple with 2 children knows that if the children have a good time, mom and dad can relax! It was delicious! The boma and a big bushfire were definitely our highlight! We will see Thala Thala again for sure!
Before we were even there, the owner sent us the directions, as well as things to do in the area. He received us very well from the time we arrived there on Friday afternoon and showed us where everything was. We have small children and they enjoyed the footpaths everywhere to walk around and the dogs walking with them. There is everything in the rondavel that you need or may have forgotten at home. The veranda in front of the rondavel is wonderful to just relax or to enjoy your meals. We went for a walk around the farm and could see different goats. The pool's water was quite cold, but the children enjoyed swimming in the afternoon. The boma is a winner where you can have a delicious barbecue, make a fire and just relax wonderfully with your family. When I made the reservation, I also got a discount on top of that. Would definitely recommend Thala Thala. A wonderful weekend.

I booked as we love wildlife but the photos are deceiving as the only view we had was a fence, trees and the main house. The unit is very clean inside but spider webs everywhere. Nothing to do so great if you want to rest.

Dawie is a fantastic host and has contributed to the feeling of home in a lovely well-equipped rondavel with a beautiful garden that has footpaths leading up to the boma area. We climbed the hill on the farm and enjoyed the beautiful view and wildlife from the pool, but enjoyed the nice thatched terrace right by the rondavel the most. If TV is your thing and you don't want to miss sport, there is a full DStv package. Excellent value for money.

The accommodation is either for 2 people or parents with two children. Neat, beautiful linen and nice mattress! The air conditioning was also a big bonus in the heat! The cool lapa porch was just what we wanted and late in the afternoon we could escape to the hide-and-seek boma against the game farm and sit by the fire for hours and have a nice meat roast! The swimming pool, just a few steps from the rondavel, was a pleasure. My husband was also able to enjoy riding his mountain bike! Dawie was a perfect host and we knew he was available if we needed him! We highly recommend it! Thank you also Dawie for the special discount you offered!

Beautiful, neat little place in a tropical garden with stone paths laid out. The place has everything one needs - complete DStv, tranquility, privacy and delicious braai facilities. It's conveniently close to Pretoria, yet it feels like you're sitting in the middle of the forest. The swimming pool is currently being built and will be a welcome addition for the hot summer days. We felt safe with the electric fence, gates and security gates. We can absolutely recommend Thala Thala - it's value for money!
Beautiful place in the scenic nature. It's peacefulness itself, Oom Danie is very friendly and helpful. Close to the beach, but you still feel miles away from everything. Perfect for a couple's getaway from the city. Dinokeng is close for a day excursion. Well equipped and the advertisement and reality meet each other. Could highly recommend it and will go back again.

Such a delightful, peaceful place. Well stocked self-service facility with the most beautiful garden surroundings. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet and wandering around the lovely garden and our lovely breakfasts on the veranda overlooking all the greenery. We had a family wedding nearby and it was perfect for us to rest and enjoy. The roads to Thala Thala were much better than any other dirt roads around the area that we visited.

Dit is 'n baie rustige en lekker wegbreekplek. Baie lekker geleë en die enigste aanbeveling wat ek sal maak is dat daar 'n aparte toilet van die hoofslaapkamer moet wees aangesien die plek toegerus is vir 4 persone en 1 kind. Verder is daar absoluut alles en dit is baie netjies.
Despite the power outage and weather, our family really enjoyed the place. Very neat and clean. The children were happy about Dawie filling the little pond so that he could just cool off, ride a bike and play on the paths with Frikkie (jack russel). As big campers, it was wonderful to be able to be off for a while and go to rest without setting up camp and enjoy a piece of forest with a crackling forest fire.
Was very peaceful. Very warm reception. Will definitely recommend it. Neat and organised.
