The cosy cottage is a separate and private building. It is well-furnished and offers a spacious en-suite bedroom and a separate living room with a fully equipped kitchen. The fireplace was a bonus on the cold winter’s night. Everything was as per the photos, and the host was very friendly. Five stars!

The Barn is wonderful as an overnight stay, if on business or for a couple wanting to explore the Midlands. The cottage is clean and very neat, with everything you would need if self-catering. There is a lovely fireplace, which was lovely on a cold winter evening. A surprise warmly baked muffin in the morning was an excellent start to the day. The hosts were amazing and I will definitely be staying again.

Gorgeous and spacious accommodation with lovely views from the verandah and bedroom. Has everything u need. Central location within walking distance of the main town. Anthea was very accommodating and helpful. The only thing was the couches in the lounge are grubby and in need of a good cleaning but we just put a blanket over them. But in no way affected our stay. The Barn will definitely be our go-to place when visiting this area.

I loved my stay at The Barn. It was lovely and clean. The bed was so comfortable and the electric blanket was welcome in the icy weather. The breakfast muffin was a delicious surprise.

The garden and views are beautiful and there is access to many restaurants and MTB trails. Absolutely loved our stay and the freshly baked muffins were super yummy.
A well equipped two bedroom upstairs apartment with nice views over the KZN hills. Close to all amenities in the Hilton village and Midlands Meander. Although it snowed (and was freezing) the owners provided wood for the fireplace, and the freshly baked muffins in the morning were a special touch.

Overslept on the way to Ballito from Gauteng. Quiet area in Hilton, tree-rich and green. Stylishly finished and furnished. Separate kitchen with fridge and stove, large bedroom and, very importantly, a large walk-in shower. We enjoyed the overnight stay.

I’m not sure if I misread the write up and pictures of the place but the two bedroom apartment is upstairs (which is not child-friendly) and it was a shared bathroom between 4 adults.
We enjoyed our weekend at The Barn so much! Such a peaceful and private place and so beautifully and creatively decorated. Anthea and Nog are the kindness itself. We got welcome brownies and freshly baked muffins every morning which were amazing! I would recommend The Barn anytime and would definitely go back myself!
The Barn was perfect for me and my fiancé. We chose to stay here because of the location. It is a great destination for mountain biking. We went to Umhlanga for a day and could easily visit Nottingham Road as well. I would recommend The Barn to anyone. The hostess was incredibly friendly and her maid was great! Note: There is now also a built-in braai which is not shown in the photos.
Anthea and William were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. The accommodation was tastefully decorated and extremely comfortable. Delicious, fresh scones or muffins delivered to our door each morning!

I stayed over in The Fox and Hound unit, 2 bedrooms, for the night before my half marathon which started just up the road. Wow, what an amazing little spot. So comfortable and fully kitted with anything that you might need. Coffee and tea supplied, as well as rusks, milk and freshly baked brownies. Wow! Anthea and William are great hosts, and even allowed me the courtesy of checking out 2 hours later so that I could recover after my run. Highly recommended.

Stayed at the Fox and Hound apartment for 8 nights. Very nice, spacious 2 bedrooms, well appointed kitchen and lounge area with full DStv and WiFi. Serviced daily by extremely professional and unobtrusive staff, spotlessly clean and classy. Great location to shops, restaurants, pubs, etc. On same road as police station and neighbourhood watch so very secure.

Upon arrival we were greeted kindly, and quickly made to feel at home. The place is very well equipped with the necessary. My oldest son really appreciated the WiFi, and even though you are on the same property, we had plenty of privacy. I would spend the night there again any time, or even stay for a few days if one wants to discover the Midlands Meander longer.
This is a very cute place to stay! We would have just liked a sign indicating "The Barn" in front of the gate, or a street number of the guest house.
